Literature / In The Boxing Ring Of Life by Mollybobog1(m): 10:31pm On Sep 01, 2017 |
On countless occasions have I watched a boxing match, Mohammed Ali Vs fraiser Joe, notably Mayweather Vs Manny Pacquiao. One thing that fascinates me so much is how punches are thrown and how they are dodged. When on the ring, the boxers are always focused on their opponents, facing them in the face and trying to make a point out of them, I've taken my Time to steadily study the attitude of boxers on the ring and I could deduce that one thing that keeps them going is their focus and ability to take charge of opportunities. Life is exactly like a boxing match where you have the tendency of winning n losing, many punches of hatred, difficulties and turmoils are thrown towards us, Even the shout (spectators hails) of double standards are spoken into our ears, but you can only win if you take the best out of those punches..... One if my best match is Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather was so defensive but technical, he took opportunities of only the important situations and got a better chance of the game, though his punches where little compared to that of Manny but they were strong and precised, even Manny acclaimed he thought he won the match. I was furious and mad at the decision, I even branded it "OJORO" but later I understood that Mayweather took the advantage of Manny's strength (throwing punches) by being defensive and threw powerful punches at the slight opportunity he got. Life will always throw punches at u, whether you like it or not you must receive those powerful but never breaking punches, but you just have to be defensive and dogged, you have to understand that life does that to bring you down, but if you can take opportunity of those punches with all doggedness, even life will be amazed on the outcome of your actions. Those who fear life's punches are destroyed by it, those who wisely receive n exploit are live by it, it is a lesson we must hold on to, it is a lesson we must never forget, that no matter how life punches us we must never set off our eyes from the goal, That we must never be perturbed, life does this thing to build n bend us on how to live a glorious life, but if we end up losing on that ring (earth), it is because we do not believe in the capacity of what we can do on that ring. Winning a match isn't just about throwing punches (as evident in Mayweather Vs McGregor), it is knowing when to take punches, studying the movement of the opponent, making a deceptive movement and then throwing a powerful punch. Opportunities will present itself as unfortunate, this is because it is embedded In the ferocious, risky and venturesome blows of life, but when you understand life's blow as a blessing in disguise, study the movement that warrants it, the situations around it, making a mesmerizing n dicey movement(taking risks) on that ring, with that, summing all your wit and power in your own blow, and sending it at a right time, you'll be amazed to see that that which you have unleashed is an atomic bomb n you won alas via a Knockout. Politics / Terrorists Disguishing As Woman In Baga by Mollybobog1(m): 8:45pm On Feb 23, 2015 |
Troops involved in the ongoing counter- terrorism operation in the North-East have arrested a number of terrorists who disguised as women in Baga, Borno State. Baga, the headquarters of the Multi-National Joint Task Force, was captured by the insurgents in January but was recaptured by the Special Forces on Saturday. The Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, who stated this in a statement on Monday, did not give the exact number of the terrorists arrested, who disguised as women. Olukolade had said in an earlier statement on Sunday that troops were screening a group of people, mostly women in Baga, to ascertain their true identities and to find out whether they were supporters of the deadly sect or not. The Defence spokesman said the troops had arrested many terrorists hiding in Baga apart from those captured during the battle to liberate the town. Olukolade, who added that several arms and bombs, hidden on locations within Baga, were recovered, stated that those in custody were being interrogated. He said, “The cordon and search in Baga has revealed some terrorists disguising as women. The searches are also yielding more discoveries of arms, especially bombs, hidden in various locations, especially in Baga town. “Apart from those captured in the course of fighting, many arrests of terrorists hiding in the town are being made and troops are still busy interrogating the suspects.” He explained that the Nigerian Air Force had intensified the bombardment of terrorists’ strongholds in Gwoza, Bama and the Sambisa Forest in consonance with the mandate to flush them out of the areas. |

Sports / Mourinho Blames Defeat On Ball Boy by Mollybobog1(m): 5:57pm On Dec 06, 2014 |
Jose Mourinho has blamed Newcastle's ball boys for ending Chelsea's unbeaten start to the season with what he perceived as time- wasting at St James' Park on Saturday. A double from substitute Papiss Cisse put the hosts ahead and, despite the Magpies being reduced to 10 men and Didier Drogba scoring with time to spare, the Blues were unable to find a late equaliser to cling into their record. And the Portuguese boss was furious with the home side's ball boys and their delaying tactics, even suggesting that the match officials should have awarded more than the six minutes of stoppage time that was added on. "We wanted to play more football, but that was not possible because a few things that I thought didn't belong any more to top level football but still belongs - the ball disappears, the ball doesn't come, another ball comes, the ball boys they run away," Mourinho told BT Sport. "These are the kinds of situation which our unfortunately still part of the game. You didn't see that the ball disappeared? They keep the ball, they hide the ball, we want to play, no ball. When one ball comes the second ball appears again. This kind of strategy. He added to BBC Sport: "My team lost the way I like to lose which is to give everything and being unlucky. Only one team played to win. After the second goal the team lost their emotional balance. A point was the minimum we deserved. "There could have been 20 minutes stoppage time but the situation would have been the same because things were happening outside the four lines that the referee couldn't control. "The referee can't punish the ball boy who disappeared with the ball, the referee couldn't punish the people in the crowd who kept the ball. I'm not obsessed with records and statistics, that's not for me, I want to win the league." The loss ends Chelsea's hopes of emulating Arsene Wenger's Arsenal 'Invincibles', but they remain top of the league, ahead of second- placed Manchester City. 1 Like |
