Family / Re: As Parents, Do We Buy Into This? by molulu(f): 5:33am On Jun 29, 2011
This article may be true for some people in Nigeria but certainly not a large number. Nigerian graduates are picking up jobs that pay as low as 20,000 just so that they can kick off with their lives. Youth are taking up careers in tailoring, catering and many other vocations simply because they don't want to be idle. Many parents don't give any financial support to their kids after educating them & If you see some Nigerian parents still giving out allowances to their 20 sth year old graduate children, its because they'r aware of the trials that the Nigerian youth is facing. The kind of children and parents described in the article are not the norm, they are the exception. The situation is a dicey one in Nigeria and the average Nigerian youth is ready to work any where or do any trade so as not to be a liability and that's why most 9gerian graduates earn btw N50,000 and N80,000! The youths are trying ooo! BOYS AND GIRLS ARE NOT SMILING OOOOO
Religion / Re: Pastor Tunde Bakare: A Bastard Can’t Rule The Yoruba by molulu(f): 9:36am On Jun 17, 2011
I hope Tinubu knows that all that talk about bastards trying to usurp power is meant for him? grin But i didn't really get what he meant by corruption breeding violence because innocent pple died in this violence or is there some info that those civillians were corrupt looters or election riggers? We need know to exactly what he means. As for Egypt, they didn't fight their fellow countrymen in the name of corruption, they came TOGETHER to protest and bring down corruption.

In this recent crises, pple lost their whole families, their children, their properties and the fruits of years of labour that ARE LOST FOREVER and if you think what the CAN president said is too harsh or strong, YOU ARE MAD! So because he's a man of God, he should keep quite or make politically correct stament instead of expressing the disgust and anger that any right-thinking person should feel? Some people just went abt slaughtering people because 1 man didn't win elections and some pple are talking rubbish. If you don't know what to say, U had BETTER SHUT UP and stop rendering destructive criticism of pple who are in shoes that you have not yet filled. For that person asking why he didn't speak up about the Akwa-Ibom saga: how do you know he didn't? Is that the same thing as the re-occurring killings of pple in the North anytime they are not happy about something? Because this is a faceless forum, does not mean we should talk anyhow. Wat has d man said that was not good for Christ's sake? If you were one of the victims, wouldn't you want pple to speak up for u?

Because @ d end of the day WE ALL MAKEUP NIGERIA- not just d president, govt officials,e.t.c. When u say u feel ashamed to be nigerian, you're saying u're ashamed of urself! We should be self-critical enuf as a nation to admit when there are deplorable conditions and situations within our polity that require serious attention even if these facts are pointed out by outsiders (like Aljazeera). However we should read between the lines to the notice common trend with the international press 1) they like to report more of the bad than the good happening here. Many pple have admitted that prior to their coming, they felt Nigeria was outrightly chaotic based on media reports. 2) they like to act as if they don't have the kind of negative stories they tell about us in their own countries which is not true. The kind of terror, fear, poverty,& oppression that pple face in parts d arab world like pakistan, afghanistan, e.t.c cannot be compared to anything! The major enablers of this subtle attempt to derride this nation are those 'so called' nigerians who are always ready to support the worst opinions about their nation and pple. Yes nigeria has LOTS of issues but she is LEARNING, GROWING and can only live up to expectation if WE ALL CONTRIBUTE OUR QUOTA!
Nairaland / General / Abdulsalam Abubakar Builds Multi-billion Dollar Empire With His Loot! by molulu(f): 1:42pm On Mar 17, 2011
Nigerians, Nairalanders our present and past leaders are telling us thru their actions that they believe that we the citizenry are biggest fools on d planet because they can't try what they do here in any other nation of the world. Abdulsalam Abubakar, the last military leader of this country has been spending his loot over the few years in ways that can only mean that no one can fully estimate how much our leaders have robbed this country of. He is the owner of MAIZUBE HOLDINGS which is a collection of various businesses( farms, estates and all sorts of companies). One of his most recent establishments is the building of MAIZUBE Estate in Abuja, Nigeria. The estate has recently been leased/rented by Total for its staff. He paid Israeli expatriates billions of naira to a construction that nigeria could easily have done. I say this because these Israelis eventually sub-contracted every aspect of the construction to nigerian builders, architects, engineers, painters, etc. They only paid out only abt 1/8 of what they were earned from gen Abdusalam. So on top of stealing our money, this evil man expatriates our resources by paying over-priced and inexperienced foreigners billions for a project that nigerians could have competently done. At least he would have kept d money he stole within the nigerian economy! Is this how we will continue in this country. People in high places are looting money everyday and believe it or not they will continue to get away wit it and flaunt it in our faces if continue to do nothing! Remember a people will only get the kind of society they deserve, they kind of society they have worked for. THINK NIGERIANS THINK!
Nairaland / General / Lets Put Strikes To Better Use by molulu(f): 2:18pm On Aug 11, 2009
I think strikes can be put to better use: they can actually produce better results than they did in the past. Instead of going on strike about issues like fuel prices, ASUU issues, doctors' problems, teachers' frustration, etc, why don't we all go on strike about the fundamental issues that cause our other problems. Lets strike about the failure of NEPA, about how govt has failed to see-through the presecution of Nigerians who have stolen us silly e.g Ibori,Odili,Obasanjo,Babangida,e.t.c. lets strike about the huge monies that accrue to legislators, top govt officials even in the midst of economic meltdown, lets strike in demand for the resignation of Yar'adua and the whole of his cabinet. What do you think? please bring ideas about what strikes can be used for and please talk to pple about this idea and see what they think. wink
Education / Re: ASUU Strike, Your Views And Objections by molulu(f): 1:48pm On Aug 11, 2009
How can ASUU go on strike? These lecturers that take bribe, sexually, financially and psychologically harass students are going on strike over some agreements that they claim that the govt didn't uphold? They must be mad! Infact they're mad. Many of them make themselves demi-gods to their students yet their complaining that govt is highhanded. MADNESS!! I know a lot of people might say that the situation of the country has brought out all these vices in them but I say he who comes to equity must come with CLEAN HANDS! angryThe truth of the matter is that ASUU needs to do internal clean-up becos even if govt grants all their demands, they'll still continue in their own corruption because they are addicted to it. ASUU members shut up and go back to work, when you're washed clean, come back to the round-table.

Politics / Re: Police Demotes Ribadu- Ex Efcc Boss by molulu(f): 12:00pm On Aug 15, 2008
Jimmyjam, this is a serious issue that raises several questions about our focus and our future as a nation, the least you can do is to make meaningful contributions. Blabbing about people whose achievements you've not even halfed is to say the  least, a sign that your thinking is mediocre. If you know of any illegality that Ribadu has committed, anyway he has dipped his hand in corruption to benefit himself, please i would be happy to be privy to such knowledge. Also if you can prove to me that Soyinka, Fawehinmi, Falana, etc are not honourable patriots of this nation, despite the fact it is such people that we always find speaking the truth when the truth is not convenient or safe, i would be happy to be enlightened.  Please don't make baseless statements.
Did anyone see the vanguard newspaper of about three or four days ago? there was a published report clearly outlining reasons why Ribadu and some of the other police officers were recommended and eventually promoted. The recommendations in that publication shows clearly that they distinguished themselves in the line of their duties. My question is this, even if Ribadu is a target  for victimization, must 'they' drag down other officers as well?  This is how people start brewing trouble they can not  handle. May God help us in this country!!!!!!!!!
Politics / Re: Police Demotes Ribadu- Ex Efcc Boss by molulu(f): 2:10pm On Aug 13, 2008
Nuhu Ribadu is a man of honesty and intergrity. Some people say he meted out selective justice adn i asked them if his reports about the corruption of some governors and others are untrue. they also ask why he didn't arrest OBJ, let me say that even in the United states or Britain, presidents are not arrested like that, e.g ; when Richard Nixon was disgraced out of office for various corrupt and unethical practices, he had to be pardoned the new president of the U.S because the truth is that its not easy. I strongly believe that even OBJ knows that if Ribadu continued in office, he would come after him. Ribadu is a honourable man that is why its been only the honourable people in this country like Gani, Wole Soyinka, Femi Falana, etc that have been speaking up in his defence. Ribadu is not in the league of rogues like Ibori, Orgi Kalu, Igbinedion, Obj,Ibb,Yar'adua, babagana Kingibe, Saraki, Akala, etc and so the God of truth and Justice will never allow them to overcome him. They will all go down in history as villians, rogues and unpatroitic fools while it will be written of Ribadu that he's a hero'blessed is he for he was persecuted for righteousness sake], '. May God have mercy on all those in this plot to subvert Ribadu's destiny because what they don't is that it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the almighty God and he's getting ready to deal heavy blows on them all.
Education / Re: Expulsion Scandal Rocks Covenant University: 120 Students Expelled by molulu(f): 1:24pm On Jul 02, 2008
"11. If Jesus owned a university, would have expelled students for not having a bible??"
This point made by Esss is the koko of the whole matter. As christains are we not strictly following Jesus' example?
Would Jesus expel students because they didn't carry their bibles. If the early missionaries, who were the major educators of Africans at one time, behaved in such manner, some of our grandparents and parents would have died illiterates. Let him who is without sin cast the 1st stone
Politics / Re: Nigeria Without It's Vast Oil Reserves by molulu(f): 3:18pm On Jul 01, 2008
D pple Who are saying that Nigeria without oil is nothing and those saying that Nigeria-Oil=Somalia or Rwanda are invariably saying they as individuals are can be seen as irrelevant because they invariably implied that it is the oil that controls our destiny and not us. This is the kind of attitude that has made people to abadon their creative abilities in pursuit of something constitutes just a part of Nigeria's wealth. If we use our brains and minds as Nigerians then oil resources will only form part and not the entirety of who we are. In a world where technological, medical and creative innovations are the best-sellers, I cannot believe that some people are saying that Nigeria without oil is nothing( How sad and pathetic!). It is this kind of reasoning that has made Nigeria not even strive towards something as basic as Food Security. May I ask what is wrong with Nigeria exploring her human and non-oil resources!
 Does Japan have oil?
 Does Israel have Oil?
Did China's advancement come from oil resources/
Based the importance that has been placed on oil and natural resources by some narrow-minded fellows, one would have expected that countries like Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, e.t.c would be at the bottom of the list in the roll call of wealthy nations
Politics / Re: Nigeria Without It's Vast Oil Reserves by molulu(f): 2:52pm On Jul 01, 2008
Nigeria and nigerians without oil, would have better use of their most important resources;their mind & brains, We would be among one of the industrialized nations of the world, we produce food in excess, we would invent various things and nobody,no country would be able to brush us aside on the world stage because the human resource would be working at its full potential. For those who feel that Nigeria would be nothing without oil, may i asked how it is possible that a country like Japan who cannot boast of any natural resource is more advanced than oil-rich countries even those where such resources are well managed to benefit the citizens like Saudi Arabia, You.A.E and others.
Oil has not not benefitted Nigeria because it has diverted our attention from our most powerful resource, that one that has taken all great countries and civilization to their peaks; the intellectual resource!! undecided

I thought that Convenant university is based on xtain principles and if it is , i don't believe that xtainity preaches that we castigate people to show them the way. Being a xtain university, i am not against pple being punished for not carrying their bible but not expulsion, Haba!!! I think covenant university should take cue from places where Xtain Universities have been running for decades. The administration of such institutions are usually based on principle love and consideration for the financial, emotional, educational, spiritual needs of students. They try to draw pple into active xtainity by showing them that we can be punished but we are not judged.
I feel that even if they must expel these students, then they should return the fees that the students have paid up till the time of their expulsion!!NUC also ought to regulate how much autonomy an institution should have in its administration of laws and regulations.
I think the regulations of this higher school only encourage pretense, because many of the graduates and even current students of this school that i've met cannot be called paragon of moral uprightness(quite the opposite). The simple reason is that you cannot bully people to love or serve God, They must come to love him through the help of the Holyspirit and witness of the lives of xtians.

Politics / Re: Iyabo Obansanjo Is Innocent by molulu(f): 2:17pm On May 26, 2008
Personally i don't care for the innocence or guilt of Iyabo because i know she can't be that innocent( remember the hospital contracts palaver). What really pisses me off is that this is just a cheap attempt to get at OBJ,what pisses me off the more is that the media is acting like it is filled with dunces allowing themselves to used in this political game. The issue here is that Obj stepped on some people's toes and he hurt them so much that even after he left office, their still out to get him. let us face the truth; the senate with all its probe committees is corrupt, OBJ was and is corrupt, Atiku is corrupt, Iyabo has skeletons in her cupboard, every other politician you here criticizing OBJ and his Family is corrupt with. exception of upright nigerians like Gani Fawehinmi and few others. Else, how come we don't here people clamouring and asking IBB what he did with the 12billion dollars excess crude revenue he recieved during his time or Abubakar Abdulsalam Abt the huge sums he packed in just over a year in power. Its just really sad that some people feel that it is worth it to play with the future, the resources, and intelligence of nigerians just so they can enjoy a game of witch-hunt. Our probes in nigeria are becoming incresingly similar to soap-operas, how disgusting!!!!
Romance / Re: What Do I Give Her For Vals Day? by molulu(f): 5:13pm On Feb 13, 2008
Give her something that she needs or likes that will be totally unexpected from you. It might not be too expensive but let it be costly at best because believe me women love gifts that cost sth so they show off to their friends. but really the key to a woman's heart is an unexpected gift at unexpected time; since its expected time, just give sth that'll blow her away!!
NYSC / Nysc Palaver by molulu(f): 4:58pm On Feb 13, 2008
I think that The NYSC programme should be scrapped! Frankly if u think about the number of months some people have to wait before going 4 service and also the fact that Nysc just wastes one year of most pples' lives (except for a lucky few who are retained where they served), the whole thing can be considered irrelevant. Maybe before NYSc was doing some good when d number of graduates wasn't so high and when there wasn't so much "striking" in our schools but now that we all know how unkind the job market is to graduates over a certain age who have no 'working experience'its not right to ask pple to go for such exercise. The Govt does not have any right use young nigerians where they have failed to provide qualified teachers or adequate human resources especially they didn't contribute enough to giving us quality education or providing us with a learning environment where we can calculate exactly when we'll gradaute!!
