Very true. My man was invited for Mechanical maintenance officer position. According to him, the factory is inside a jungle and the salary is horrible. Okada from the nearest guest house to the factory is N1,500.

With regards to the Nigerian labour market, do you have any reservations, regrets, or advice for me as an undergraduate in this field.

Engineering generally is lucrative but a very tough field in Nigeria because of the low level of industrialisation in this country. Most Industries are owned by foreigners..Engineering education in Nigeria is of really poor standard. So you save money for technical trainings. So you are in right field but its gonna be a tough one. Good luck.

Yes you can sir. Becareful of the inverter DC voltage when setting up the battery bank. There are numerous products in the market but try buying from a major importer. Just incase if it blows up you are sure of quick replacement. Properly size your loads before ordering. Try including power stabilizers in your budget too for protection of the inverter. Actuaries are professionals who are qualified in this field through intense education and experience.......To me this course is very cool if he can swim through it. Unless your friend is scared of mathematics. This degree combined with ICAN certification is surely a blast.

Go for electrical power then save money for Industrial automation training because Nigeria Universities can't teach it. Try having knowledge beyond the scopes of Nigeria's tertiary institution curriculum. Telecoms is very good also but there are more manufacturing firms than telecoms firms here in 9ja. With the knowledge of electrical power then coupled with automation and instrumentation skills believe me bro, you are going to be hot cake for the manufacturing firms. With power you can also choose to specialise in power utilities which is also lucrative.
