Music/Radio / Nigeria Is Home-deena Ade by morblow: 6:15pm On May 19, 2018
One of Nigeria’s cool songstresses, writer and performer par excellence, Deena Ade was cornered recently for a chat and after much hesitation she opened up and bared her mind on a wide range of issues.

In a straight from the heart kind of manner, she talked about her real name, education, family, music, the industry and her sex abuse campaign. In all these extremes, one could see deep down her heart of hearts, the love she has for her country-Nigeria and the passion she displayed for music

In relating with Deena Ade, one discovered her lack of skills for deceit and hypocrisy, she could not even adopt the common pretences associated with many entertainers but dropped her anchor with a “take it or leave it” kind of attitude.

Of course, as a medium that sort for credible information, we settled for the real thing- straight from the heart fact through an interaction that lasted more than 90 minutes in which she expressed optimism about the future of the music industry in the country, she equally recognized the efforts of many Nigerian youths trying hard to make something out of nothing and assured her fans and lovers of her sustained goal of intensifying campaign against sexual violence, a project she promised to expand in order to accommodate other menace besetting the society.

As would be expected, Deena stylishly refused to be ambushed on the statement credited to her sometime ago in which she was quoted as saying her music was not for men. More:http://www.morblownews.com/2018/05/19/nigeria-home-deena-ade/

The former Edo State Deputy Governor, Lucky Imaseun has replied the embattled National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun childish comment saying the choice of former governor, Adams Oshiomhole was not an Edo issue but that of the entire South-south geo-political zone of the country.
He said even though it was at the Edo State government house that the meeting was held and decision taken, the Chairman was adequately invited but he chose to absent himself as he did in previous meeting of the caucus.
Imaseun who acknowledged the enormous task ahead of the party and the fact that Chief Oyegun is also responsible for the 36 states of the federation and Abuja said any reason advance for Oyegun’s absence is inconsequential to the position of the leaders of the party which was thought-out and well communicated to all.
To those leaders that later disassociated themselves from the decision of the party at Edo government house, Imaseun said they may have been overwhelmed but it was necessary to take a quick decision in respect to the chairmanship position which the national executives had in their wisdom decided that all zones should retain their positions.

Politics / Nigerian Youths And Buhari’s Declaration: A Political Nollywood Movie by morblow: 1:09am On Apr 22, 2018
The eye will always see what it wants to see, so also the ear in what to hear. Could one be more selective in what s/he sees or hears however delicate the filtering process might be?

A few hours ago in far-away London, President Muhammadu Buhari was misinterpreted to have called Nigerian youths-lazy. Like a typical Nigerian, I jumped into a state of frenzy asking all the questions that came to mind, why, how, what and after a while I asked again; why not.

Having listened to the President directly, I asked one more time, why not? I took time to examine the statement with a view to filtering the section or portion that seems to suggest that he actually meant what was attributed to him and I came to the conclusion that some persons are indeed waiting in the wind for the possible outcomes of the President.

It was at this point that I agreed with Mr. Femi Adeshina that it was the handiwork of the opposite “Buharis” who will stop at nothing than to look for what is not lost. So who could have originated the “lazy version” that was rapidly fed to the information-hungry Nigerians who are constantly in the online kitchen for whatever could go to the mouth-eye.

I don’t intend to borrow words from Adeshina but I completely agreed with him and the position of the presidency. Without fear of contradiction, my submission is; those that condemned the President are fault finders but this time they displeased some of their admirers. The facts are there to verify, every country has the hardworking and the lazy youths, the employed and the unemployed so nothing is really peculiar to Nigeria from the statement made by the President.

The implication of the statement did not mean the youths are lazy although indeed some are, some have chosen a path of wealth that can only come through MMM and other get rich quick schemes. Some chose a fantasy-island life and atmosphere decorated by motivational speakers. Some have been known to shun mentorship opportunities and embrace sack-your-boss lecture and at the end what they have to offer could not stand the test of time. Maybe these are the youths that the President had in mind-the ever waiting bag carriers cum PA for Politicians. Let’s be realistic, they are numerous these days.
Now, back to the drummer, does the President perform well enough to be so sympathized, No, besides, his recent declaration of intention to run again in 2019 so that the country will continue to crawl in a high speed internet-driven world amounted to a political nollywood movie whereby the end is known from the beginning; no suspense, no intrigue, no surprise. Only what can be used to either waste or pass time. These characteristics fit our movie industry called Nollywood which should have been better christened “Nothingwood”

There is no doubt the fact that hardship and frustration is in the land, if it takes a man who vied for a particular office many times, six months to assemble the team that will help him realize the mission he sought for that number of times, I think that is leadership failure part one and looking at the three elementary test of leadership namely;
1. To spread the idea or vision he or she aims to accomplish.
2. To assemble the men and women that will help him or her drive the vision.
3. To allocate resources in a manner that would see to the rapid realization of the idea or vision.
Which of these has our beloved President shown ability and capability? none. No excuse this time.

I know Prof Yemi Osinbajo is also involved in this government but what we have is a case of a cart pulling the horse. Or better put a case of a visual impaired leading a man with normal sight, how far can they go. Your guess is as good as mine.

The All Progressive Congress, APC cardinal points to the voters were; to fight corruption, tackle insecurity and give mass employment. I must say without reservation APC has failed in all put together although with President Buhari’s integrity remaining intact.

I do not belong to the class of people who passed a blanket judgment on leaders instead I prefer to take leaders strictly on sector by sector basis. That explains why I remain vehemently oppose to media rituals of setting agenda to every new government. My position was, is and will continue to be allowing leaders/ party to run with the agenda so set by them while the media and by extension the people devise a mechanism for accountability.

On the agenda of fighting corruption, consider this check list, this administration is compose of alleged nation’s looters who got baptize to sin no more by virtue of them decamping from Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to APC. In case one is still wondering, APC accused the PDP of looting the national treasury for 16 good and bad years depending on your parameter at a time of reading this piece. Statistics revealed that out of the 24 APC Governors, 22 of them were members of PDP, at present 20 former PDP governors are now in APC. That President Buhari and by extension APC is fighting corruption is egregious lie meant for the infernal world.

On the agenda of security, despite the fact that our security agencies are trying, it is difficult to award a pass mark to the political class that created the monster in the first place and it is the same class that came up with different degree of defeat ranging from technical defeat to running out of oxygen. Recently, our President killed it in far away UK when he told the world that killers are late Col Muammar Gaddafi of Libya trainees. How I wish the dead could speak. So what about Niger Delta insurgents, were they late Idi Amin of Uganda trainees as well? Dis our leaders-oooo. na wa for dem-(Fela- Unknown Soldier album, 1984)

On the agenda of mass employment-no comment, again, your guess is as good as mine.
Going by the general frustration of the masses about PDP government, APC had arrived like an ambulance driven by a matron to assist a bleeding patient and in any medical environment once the patient is given first aid and bleeding stops, the matron steps aside for a surgeon to carry out proper surgery.

I think the time for President Buhari to step aside is now, let us look out for a political surgeon who can carry out proper diagnosis of the country and apply “mediconomics” for Nigeria to get well. In a straight forward manner, President Buhari should forget about 2019 but can nominate another integrity-principally to take the centre stage because we have seen that the President is presiding over an administration made up of people who would have had nothing to do with him as an officer in the Army.
In the mist of all of these, has the opposition PDP shown enough remorse to take over? The answer is blowing in the wind. Its twinkle me when I see some of the gladiators and I just can’t help but wonder what these people take Nigerians for. Check out the characteristics of some of the gladiators;
-EFCC molested-principally
-ICPC invitees who will stop at nothing than to thwart the process especially with the confession by the Commission that it lacks personnel to carry out verification.
-Leaders with multiple court cases
-America denied visa-individuals
Let us not forget that PDP had donated an ex-convict at a governorship level, we cannot afford to gamble anymore otherwise one day we will have an ex-Nigeria President sentence to jail by International Court. Anyone in that camp should be thoroughly screen and that is left for the party Executive to handle but returning to power in 2019 is a fairy tale by moonlight. . This is an opportunity the youths of the country should explore and exploit. Our youths have excelled all over the world and in diverse fields; entertainment, sport, engineering and medicine etc. They are resilient, hardworking and resourceful flying the country’s flag the world over, what they lack is quality leadership. Let us not allow the activities of a few to rubbish the collective effort of many.
Nigerian youth, I hail thee.

Politics / Banire Calls For Internal Democracy, As The Fear Of “banirephobia” Loom In Lagos by morblow: 8:17am On Apr 21, 2018
The All Progressive Congress, APC legal Adviser, Muiz Adeyemi Banire, SAN has called for internal democracy ahead of the 2019 election even as he accused the disgruntled members of the party who purportedly suspended him from the party to be suffering from what he called “banirephobia”

He said they belong to the insignificant group which opposes internal democracy of the party. Banire who was filing questions on a discussion programme “The Discuss” further stated that those who also accused him of benefiting from god-fatherism and imposition in the past are clowns and are suffering from deficiency of grammar as his position as National Legal Adviser is not an elective post but rather base on appointment.

He called on the members who have genuine interest of the party at heart to remain steadfast and allow internal democracy to prevail so as to avoid what happened in Osun state where the party lost Senator Adeleke because of imposition of candidates.

He expressed reservation about the situation in APC, Lagos saying, there is arrogance among the leadership which was not the case during the administration of the former Governor, Raji Babatunde Fashola and confessed that he has no access to Governor Ambode unlike Fashola whom he said was accessible even at night.

He recalled that he used to get in touch with former Governor Fashola between the hours of 11pm to 2am at most and blamed the State party Executives for the predicament.

Ahead of 2019 election, Banire advised the party, to do the needful which according to him include; ensuring internal democracy, stop imposition of candidates, follow the party constitution, law and guidelines. For those still walloping on the purported suspension, the APC Legal Adviser had a piece of advice for them and that, he said was for them to stop being jittery and be ready to face the reality of the day which is no other but the reality of internal democracy.

Health / Bone-setting, Fracture Can Be 100% Treated In Nigeria-dr. Bone by morblow: 4:26pm On Apr 20, 2018
At a time when many seek medical treatment in foreign lands, due to poor facilities, poor remuneration and complete lack of care to the medical practitioners in the country.
Many who have the wherewithal could not entrust their lives in the hands of de-motivated health workers in the country thus they seek medical relevance in far-away countries even for the most minute of cases, but unknown to them that within our shores, there exist doctors who give their all for the lives entrusted to them. They do their best possible and the patient goes home singing like a Parrot.
It was one of the Parrots whose songs attracted morblownews and the rest is what you are about to savour
Simply put, the so much talked-about experts abroad are right here in our mist. All we need do is to seek and find them and above all, give them opportunity for them to give us their best.

So before you board that flight, just listen to this trained Economist, a master degree holder in Environmental Resources Management who at present is holding it down successfully in a trade that was once upon a time abandoned to our grannies.

What could he be doing in such a profession? And most interesting is why abandoned the comfort of an air condition office to a moderate space when massage and bone-setting is stock-in-trade

In this series, we bring you, Mr Afun Richard, a Traditional Physiotherapist, known by clients as Doctor Bone and by others as Doctor Peace. Hear him. Excerpt
Good day sir, may we meet you
Dr. Bone: My names are Afun Pere Richard; some people call me Doctor Bone while some call me doctor peace. Basically, I see myself as a traditional physiotherapist.
What is traditional physiotherapy?
Traditional physiotherapy is about taking care of bones, bone settings and things like paralysis which comes in different forms, everything that has to do with bones and nerves. Also things like bone-setting, fracture cases and dislocations. We do setting and with God helping us, in a short space of time the affected person becomes fine.

Dislocation can come in different form, in the hand, in the leg, elbow, wrist and shoulder blades. Also when we say dislocation of the legs, you can talk of femur heads, you can also have dislocation on the knee and on the angle.
What’s your educational qualification?
Dr. Bone: I graduated from Ambrose Ali University as an Economist; I served in Sokoto State in a village called Raba. That was where I did my National Youth Service Corp, NYSC. I also obtained Masters Degree from Lagos State University, LASU, in Environmental Resources Management. But I have been doing this (bone-setting) for the past 18 years.

What’s an Economist doing in bone-setting?
Dr. Bone: Well, I would say, this is more of nature call, like a gift. You know I see myself being very free and fulfilled. It moves me when I see people having pains and I can help them and solve it and by the grace of God, the number of years that I have put in-in this job has helped me to be able to face many difficulties and give treatment on the cases of physical therapy.

So you are making a living from Physiotherapy instead of academics
Dr. Bone: Yes
Any regret
Dr. Bone: No, I don’t have any because everywhere I go my university education has always been an advantage, it has given me my expanded horizon and the tact which I handle cases, such can only be an offshoot of a formal learning. As an Economist going into traditional physiotherapy, it helps me to really know how to manage my business, so it really helps me.

Are you running a specialist hospital
Dr. Bone: Yes, well presently, I have a clinic in Ejigbo, 49 Fadu Avenue. There you have cases of fractures. Fracture can come in any part of the body; it can come on the femur, tibia, fibular humerus, ulna and the radius. All these are different type of fractures, we do the setting and that’s what bone setting is all about. If its dislocation, what we do is, arrange the bone back and then fix the bone in its dislocated part for the person to be ok. It’s just a 5 minutes thing.
Like the shoulder, it cannot take me more than 2 to 3 minutes to solve such a case.
Why do people travel abroad when qualified hands are here
Dr. Bone: I would say, most of the cases that make people fly abroad are complex, complex in the sense that maybe they are not able to do surgery here or maybe they are having cases like stroke and nerve-related problems. So that’s why people fly abroad but basically if one is having somebody like me that by the grace of God, I know what am doing because of the number of years that I put into the practice, 18 years is not a joke there wouldn’t be any need to travel abroad in such an instance.
I have acquired a lot of experience when it comes to bone setting and paralysis. Paralysis can come in different forms like the hand which maybe one or both hands, a stroke case maybe the person is not able to talk, we can help the person to be able to talk, if he or she cannot walk for years, that is our specialty and by the grace of God anywhere in the world I can do that, I can help patient to be able to talk or walk.
Every stroke patient should be able to walk if that person has a very good traditional physiotherapist. Things like stroke demand aggressive therapy, what that means is that one needs to monitor the blood pressure (BP) of that patient before going into the treatment.

As an Expert, at what point should amputation be carried out
Dr. Bone: Amputation has to do with accident cases, for instance, if the case is something they cannot manage, maybe during an accident, the hand is cut off completely, then there is nothing anybody can do, but there are cases where you have to manage the wounds because basically, if the wound is bad, one cannot control the wound, that means they will amputate that leg, hand or that part of the body. But if the wound is being controlled and treated properly then the person can be fine. Once the wound is treated, then the setting can come up and the person will be fine. www.Morblownews.com

Politics / Re: Gov. Udom Emmanuel: Playing A Dumb King In A Talkative Kingdom by morblow: 7:28pm On Apr 19, 2018
Ikpewe:
Iniehe se awed
you are wrong but thanks all the same
Politics / Gov. Udom Emmanuel: Playing A Dumb King In A Talkative Kingdom by morblow: 5:57pm On Apr 15, 2018
I have watched with keen and vested interest the manner with which Gov Udom Gabriel Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State goes about the task of governance.

Sometimes he makes the task of running the affairs of the state to look very simple but with adequate sense of responsibility and objectivity, I know the task is not that simplistic.

Being the first opposition governor of the state to the centre, many had taught that the governor from inception would apt for a certificate or diploma crash course in opposition politicking to enable him weather the storm the same way the lion of Bourdilon, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Lagos state Governor and an All Progressive Congress, APC national leader and another former Governor of the same state, Mr. Raji Babatunde Fashola who is now the present Minister for works, power and Housing did when they held sway in Lagos. With the benefit of hindsight, the duo played politics of survival and still went on to deliver the dividends of democracy.

Be that as it may, I kept vigil to see Gov Udom Emmanuel come to Lagos for tutorials but I ended up waiting in vain because his activities and realities have shown that he needed no such lesson after-all, having played successfully in the private sector where participants are expected to meet target or be shown the way out of their corporate seats.

Now, peeping into historical future, one recalls the days of uncommon transformation-a philosophy that defined the then governor of Akwa Ibom State now Senator and Minority Leader of the Upper House of the National Assembly, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio.

In those days, there was massive marketing of activities and policies of government with public relation handlers falling on one another to do the master’s bidding. Hardly had the then governor made a speech without promoting his ideals, every event however minor was turned into publicity stunt either for the governor and his administration or for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Ultimately, what happen, happened and the rest as they say is history.

One good thing though for Akwa Ibom State is that the state has been very fairly lucky with virtually all the successive governors that governed the state at different times with Gov Emmanuel being no exception.

One can hardly look back and described any past governor as a monumental failure. The reason is simple and that is, each of them made good use of the opportunity that was given to them however short-lived such opportunity had been like in the case of late Chief Akpan Isemin of blessed memory.

The coming of Gov Udom Emmanuel from the private sector especially from an edifice that pays attention to the people and the process of reaching out to them was to say the very least, a turning point and it was at this turning point that the future of the history lies.

Having taken over from a natural marketer and a publicity-loved predecessor, Gov Emmanuel sets out with a mission to industrialize the state. Within a couple of months, Peacock paint industry was revived, then came a Colour Centre in Uyo in which more than fifty “Paintpreneurs” were trained and empowered.

A cross section of trained and empowered “Paintpreneurs”

Before the celebration died down, a metering factory with production capacity of more than six hundred thousand meters per annum was established. Still in the line-up came a Syringe manufacturing plants confirmed to be the second and the largest in the continent of Africa with a production capacity put at between three hundred and fifty to four hundred million Syringes per year.
Still on the list is, of course, a Pencil factory, a reconstruction of Etinan General Hospital and so on. It was these milestones that lead to the Federal Government listing the state as the 11th in the MSME Clinic which was confirmed by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo during one of his official engagement in the state.
I intentionally refused to mention road projects whether on-going or completed because that is no achievement except in the land of the blind or semi civilized clime.

With these and many more, Gov Emmanuel has been able to balance the two vital components of development namely critical infrastructure and human capital development. Unfortunately, up till now, this aggressive industrialization drive is yet to become a topic of major discuss and there lies my worries.

I don’t know what gives the governor the impression that governance is a kingdom of God business in which one must wait for the Day of Judgment. He should know that nobody lights a candle and put it under a bushel, but the governor has chosen to remain in the bushel even with the match stick with which he used to light up the candle of industrialization in the state.

Leaders whether made or born are subjects of discuss when their legacies are parameters for the future. Having created room for massive industrialization in the state, he ought to know that there is always a vacant room and that is the room for improvement.

Many times, that vacant room is spotted when the parameter becomes a subject of public scrutiny and discuss. Thus, the governor ought to make a very good use of “Dakkada” philosophy as a template of governance in the state and by which long term government policy for at least 30 years is anchored instead of wasting time on policies of government.

The Dakkada philosophy must be institutionalized if the originator himself believed in its antecedents. My story line is simple and straight. Market thyself and some day Dakkada philosophy will become the template of governance in the state. With Dakkada Creed, Akwa Ibom has diversified from oil resource to human resource.

The programmes are good enough and can only be made better; Gov Emmanuel must do unto Dakkada what Senator Akpabio did unto uncommon transformation. Dakkada philosophy is a good one, I repeat, promote it and let it be enshrined in the tablet of the hearts of future and upcoming leaders of the state. I say this because, in Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu laid the foundation for the successful leadership series that is currently playing out in the state today to the admiration of Lagosians including non indigenes.

For avoidance of doubt, a brief statistics will suffice, before the coming of Asiwaju Tinubu, Odua People Congress, OPC was a dreaded and fearsome bunch that was used by many landlords to meet jungle justice on tenants, it took the wise counsel of the government through the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General of the state as he then was and now Vice President of the country, Prof Yemi Osinbajo to institute a justice reform that has endured to this date for Lagosians. Today, Lagosians will agree that there is deep mutual respect between property owners and tenants in the state.

Secondly, it was during the administration of Asiwaju Tinubu that the government through the Commissioner for Works as he then was and now the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola designed a bridge that links Itire and Okota at Cele bus-stop along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway which was later commissioned by his successor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola who in his characteristic manner did not fail to inform the public that it was Ogbeni Aregbesola who put the idea together when he was a Commissioner in the State.

My fear is this, laudable though as Dakkada philosophy might be, it can still become a rapid passing phase if not well and adequately promoted. Like a state of matter that remains stationary until acted upon by external force, some lucky lieutenants might chose to remain inactive and let the philosophy dies. One of our musical legends, Inyang Henshaw sang in one of his hit tracks, “we remain this way until death comes upon us”. That is true because some of us are neither idealistic nor productive but we “carry go” because another person will be held responsible.

Has the governor realize that he is in governance and not in government? Then, why play a dumb king in a talkative kingdom. Why waste precious time on policies of government instead of using Dakkada as a government policy. The difference is not and can never be the same.

Akwa Ibom State was a campaign slogan of the two major political parties, APC and PDP in the wake of the 2015 general election. While PDP beckoned on voters to look at the state as a success story, APC said that it was only in Akwa Ibom that PDP had something to boast about.

The point is this, whether for or against, the state was in the front burner of national discuss once upon a time because uncommon transformation put the state in the lips and in the eyes of the public. Let Dakkada do likewise.

And those on the “sidon look” benches must realize that we are all involve in Akwa Ibom project one way or the other, lets support and promote Dakkada as a leadership series that will outlive the originator. While the rest of the country are still mouthing diversification of economy from oil to agriculture with prolong hunger and poverty visible on the scorecard, Dakkada could be made a template of diversification from oil to you and I; the most vital of all resources. I rest my case.
