1. Not advisable. Proving that your generous uncle would leave you and everyone directly related to him to sponsor someone that just married into your family is not that straight forward and your application should be as simple as possible.

2. If you arrive Australia on student visa, you can transition to 491/190 without problem and you won't be the first. However, submitting 2 application at the same time isn't advisable.

Good day everyone, and weldone to everyone sharing information

Please I have a peculiar question,

I currently have applications for skilled migration but it’s taking long, I am at the stage where I’m waiting for state/territory nomination for 491/190 Visas.

I have an uncle in Australia who advised that my girlfriend (I plan to marry her next year) should apply for masters. The plan will be for me to apply under her application and leave together.

1. If she applies and we’re married, can my uncle be her sponsor? (Uncle in law?)

2. As I’m doing all these, if I am nominated for my 491/190 visa, will there be an issue of having multiple visa applications at once? Also, what happens if we get to Australia before they answer me? Is there a way I can complete the 491/190 process and change our visa from student to 491/190?

What was submitted are scholarship document, employment reference and payslips, Aussie bank statement, family OSHC, COE, police character certificate (wasn't required but we had it, so it was uploaded), GTE, school enrollment for school aged child, passport data page. Nothing was notarized as all documents are easily verifiable

Lushbaby:

Congratulations please kindly share documents submitted

Visa Grant Alert

Submitted: 19 April
Biometric: 21 April
Medical: 15 May
Visa grrant: 24 June

This is subsequent entrant (ie dependant) visa. It ended in praise to the glory of God and to encourage all that are waiting, as you'd receive good news soon. No agent involvement and all information used is contained in DHA website.

Your agent is right about your OSHC starting a month earlier for visa purpose. After you arrive Australia, it'd be adjusted to the date of arrival.
You should pay and apply for your visa asap because September is just 2 months away and if you noticed timeline lately, it takes about 8 weeks or more. You don't need the agent to apply for visa after your admission. Best of luck.

Greetings all,

I need a clarification on the following:

My CoE was sent to me this morning by UNSW, i reached out to my agent for Visa application process to be initiated.

She said since my start date is 11th September that I'll have to select August when making payment for my OSHC and also, wait till August for my OSHC to be ready before filling the online visa form.

I want to know if that's how it works considering my intake as September or can I go ahead and pay for the OSHC right away?

Thanks, will be waiting to hear from experienced person(s)

Good morning to every one here assisting one another, I am impressed honestly.
Please I need an advise; My agent deferred my admission/intake from March session to July session because of delay in sending COE, less than than 3 weeks of deferring I got my COE,
I am about to apply for visa but I was advised by someone to wait till May to apply being that I have deferred to July session;
Should I wait till then “May” or I can apply for visa this February?
I will be glad to get a response. Thanks in anticipation!!
If you have all the required documents, you can lodge your visa application. Congratulations in advance.

Hello Gurus in the house, I have a question as regard using agent, is it mandatory someone used agent from his/her country (Nigeria) since my brother reside in Ibadan Nigeria? I will appreciate if anybody can recommend a good agent for us.
Thank you guys.
Agents are used according to your country of residence not necessarily origin. E.g. if you are residing in Ghana on Nigeria passport, then you'll need agents in Ghana. Therefore, your brother can use any agent in Nigeria.
To determine agent, go with the list provided by the university, then look up the agents to determine what works for you.

Hello Guys,
I applied for masters visa on January 17th and up till now i havent heard anything.
I am a little bit worried because my start date has passed and also i didnt lodge my visa from
Nigeria.
Please what do i do?

Speak to your agent and university to advise you on next line of action. In some instance, you'd need to get another COE and upload accordingly.
Secondly, go through documents you submitted to ensure you submitted everything according to the checklist for your university. Don't get discouraged, it'd end in praise.

Hello gurus in the house, am kind of new to Australia forum.
Pls am planning to help my brother apply for master in Australia but I don’t have a clue on how to go about it, more so I saw people talking about agent, pls I will need help in getting a good agent. He has HND in Quantity Surveying and transcript has be evaluated by WES, he also has experience in teaching too. I don’t know if his course is qualify for PR. I will appreciate your respond. Thanks

Masters in what? Why not start by using Google and come back here with more specific questions.
Each institution you or your brother is applying to will have list of agents and you can only know this if you have decided on a course and institution.

Can I ask, why would others charge a fee if a competitor is doing this for free? Perhaps IDP is slower or what do you think?

IDP isn't charging students because they get paid by institutions and it has nothing to do with their speed. The agents will only forward your application to the institutions and the processing time depends on the institution not the agents.

Please has anyone used IDP, I just got to know about them and their services are free, they apply for admission and assist in visa processing.
Any downside to using their service?

You'd be responsible for your application and if any university requires you to certify documents, they'd not do it for you. Other agents will include that as part of their services but some of them charge unreasonable fees from students. In all, do your research, get necessary documents, start your application early. It's worth the cost (ie free).

good day, I don't know if this is the section for this or you can help me with information on what the problem really is.... An agent applied for admission into ACU for me, I got a reply that they don't believe in the document, so they wouldn't be giving me admission. I notorized my document with a notary public as instructed by the agent and followed all process. What i want to know is, is there a special method for notarizing of document in Nigeria for Australia application or their special office that does that? After getting this mail, I did a little research, and i discovered that after notorizing my document, I was supposed to certify it with the ministry of foreign affairs and also the embassy of Australia which the agent never told me about. Attached are document. Thanks

Firstly, this is not the right section for your question.
Secondly, you misunderstood ACU reason for denying you admission. The denial letter you posted stated that they don't believe you can meet GTE and financial requirements for DHA to issue you visa and they are denying you admission based on those two (ie. GTE and finance)
Finally, rewrite your GTE and keep in mind that the financial requirement is usually minimum of 1 year tuition fees and living expenses for most universities. Read DHA requirements for subclass 500 visa to get clearer understanding of why ACU denied you admission. Don't give up.

Congratulations. Ignore the agent and apply for your visa.

Zykore:
Good evening everyone.

I got a fully funded scholarship for PhD from the University of Queensland.
I received my CoE since Oct 18th 2022 for a commencement date of April 1st 2023.

The school also provided OSHC starting March 1st 2023.

My agent has said that I cannot lodge a visa application until 3months to the commencement date.

Is this true?
Do i have to wait till January 2023 to apply for student visa?

I'm ready to lodge my application this December. If I go ahead and apply 4 months to my commencement date, would there be an issue?

I wish to share my testimony to the glory of God and benefit of everyone expecting theirs.

Landed: 5th November
Grant date: 13th October
Medical: 12th September
Biometric: 7th September
Application date: 5th September

There was no additional document request as documentation was straight forward because I’m on research scholarship. I received my COE towards the end of August and my agent said that I can’t meet the November resumption date due to visa processing timeline and advised that I should defer my admission to next intake. I decided to disregard the agent’s advice because most of what the agent said including documents required to lodge visa application was not in tandem with the information on DHA website.
I lodged my application myself and will advise anyone that have time constraint to consider completing the application themselves because it’s very long. I used the checklist on DHA website to gather supporting documents and didn't submit IELTS or bank statement.
I flew Qatar airways at the end of the day but I made the mistake of using the so called online ticketing agents to book my flight ticket initially due to high cost of tickets to Australia at the time I booked. I ended up losing USD 2k to kiwi.com and had to buy another ticket from the airline directly after my lost.
Please, always do your research and don’t depend on information from any agent. The DHA website have all the necessary for information. Buy your tickets from the airlines directly to avoid stories that touch.
If you are carrying food items, ensure that it’s processed (ie blend and dry). I packed mine in ziplock bags and they were clearly labeled.
To everyone hoping and praying, God will make it happen for you.
