The bolded is a relative term.

My car AC blows cold at night and mornings, but sometimes in the afternoon, it blows hot. What could be the cause? Pls can anyone recommend a very good AC tech in Lagos, who charges fairly?

There is no lie here
It's mostly women that do the delay, foreigners and men almost never delay you, in fact they are already there waiting for you.
When I used to order ride too, I always monitored the driver and made sure I was waiting and waving/flagging him down as he approaches.

This is the norm in saner climes but Nigerians with bad characters abuse everything.

one thing I will never understand in this uber work is why you have to almost beg most riders to come out for the trip they ordered for. All the times I've booked a ride, I'm always monitoring the trip to my PU so I can be outside waiting for my ride.

It's a Nigerian thing, common especially with Nigerian women, who will order ride, call U then go back to make up for 30mins. You can never beg white people to come out; they monitor movement and would be at the exact PU spot before you arrive.

Unemployment rate in 🇳🇬 today is > 40%. In a country where we have more churches than industries, why won't people take up taxi driving? Why do we like to chastise people making a honest living? They hail Yahoo boys and runs girls, but insult Uber drivers. People who haven't seen life in 3D have much to say about others. Rest

Petrol 315k (15k daily x 21 days)

This is your NET earnings, after Uber deducted commission, not gross. You probably hit the 1M gross range with this net. Well done to you.

JUNE GROSS EARN with 130k fuel

Net shows 184,366
Subtract fuel 130,000
= 54,000 for the whole month

And yet to deduct:
data of 6k,
call airtime of 5k,
mechanic work of 32k,
tyre gauging of 3k5 in total etc

No profit
I only worked for bolt and fuel station😪😔

Firstly, are you a newbie? Why have you not grossed above 20k in a single day? What type of trips are you accepting?

This is a truthful summary of what most e-hailing drivers face. You can't come here claiming u made millions without your vehicle suffering for it. If other drivers were as concise as this, it will enable people know how profitable the business is. But if you just tell people the millions you make without the challenges and setbacks you go through, there will still be doubters.

Inaccurate. Even as a newbie back then, I was steady grossing above 20k anytime I step out. How has this person not grossed beyond 20k / day? Something is definitely missing

Well possibly.
Last night, Berger, UniLag peaked at 1.8x. Demand was quite high in those areas.
Itsrm:

Everyone knows this. What I'm saying is, the demand that will result in a 1.7 surge before now may have been tweaked by bolt to only result in a 1.3 surge.

that means before the hike in fuel price, you usually gross 40k with 4k fuel?

Before the hike, I was doing 40-50k *on surge* with 5k fuel. Then, no one cared about these calculations and fuel consumption.

Every trip you do now is a 1.5 surge trip cheesy

And why do I think bolt may just have tampered with their criteria for surge

Surge comes with increase in demand. Demand is low generally on bolt, that's why you see pockets of surge in LASU axis, UniLag and Berger. Demand peaked in those areas

Not all cars. Some do part time driving and they don't hit 3k miles in a month. I do about 3k miles in 3 months.
Raw2:
Bro, you've never driven on ehailing before, that's why you keep repeating this line. That line is a lie.

Any car that does more than 15,000 miles a year is overflogged. ALL cars on ehailing do a minimum of 3000 miles a month or 36,000 miles a year, therefore ALL cars on ehailing are overflogged.

What you should preach is having a good maintenance routine. Cars love overflogging as long as you do PERIODIC PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE on them. Change oils when due, shock absorbers etc when due.

Ehailing cars are not Private cars. They don't need pampering. What they need is periodic maintenance so they don't breakdown when you least expect. If a private car changes shock absorbers once in 2 years, ehailing cars is 1 year. If a private car changes hub in 3 years, ehailing cars is 1. Don't give any prospective partner the impression that their cars on ehailing will be as shiny as Private cars or that they won't be scratched cos you're only setting yourself up.

Ask lagride drivers if what I just posted is a lie. They all collected their cars brand new with nylon. Ask them how far. Or look at the state of the ones on the road. If a brand new car takes such beating, what do you expect from 15 - 20 year old cars everyone uses on ehailing. Pampering?

Dey play

Why didn't you cancel the short trip?

obinoral1179:
bolt is same thing as taxify, yes you can be on all the app same time but you can only fulfill one order except if you are lucky to get a delivery from one of the app then you are make use of the second app depending on the item or route you are heading to.

I had a scenario last week in ikoyi, mine bolt was on and I set the uber to yaba due to the fact that I need to pick something in Yaba. I got a trip from passport office ikoyi to zenith bank road ikoyi, I was not planning to go and immediately i got another trip in Uber going to yaba from same pickup as bolt I drove there and was about picking the Uber client when the bolt client hop into the car but I told her I'm not going that I have another client to pick up there, she was angry and thank God she is Immigration officer and not Army officer...

Uber reduced their commission to 20% last year, Bolt jacked theirs up to 25% from 20% within the same period in Lagos. I may be wrong?

I don't really think Bolt is so much bothered about Uber fares, Indrive are the ones pulling the strings in Lagos and frustrating all efforts because of their popularity amongst riders.

Ironically, same drivers who are on strike today are the ones that will be picking cheap and unwholesome fares on Indrive.

Bolt claims its actual commission is 20%, while the extra 5% is charged on rider. Bolt x UBER are like Pepsi x Coke, they checkmate eachother.

Lol, there are things you don't learn in telegram groups.

If you work for a multinational company, banks will run after you with loans.

Some of those loans are in 8 digits. Imagine the possibilities

Also, I've been privileged to see the salary schedule of several companies here in Ph and I can tell you a lot of people earn way way more than 400k.

That's why I was wondering where the arrogance was coming from

If If.....

How many people work in Multinationals? Unemployment rate is about 40%. Buhari crippled the middle class - everyone is struggling to meet up.

I drove round to some part of Lagos today...It seems the road is generally free, understandably so. ..If you, as a driver thinks you're making 5k in an hour now, I think you should just wait and let things settle down b4 you celebrate...All the people who are not driving now will eventually hit the road and the usually traffic begins....All in all, it is not looking good for everyone..Whatever increment the app guys will add can't be more than 35%.Bolt already did a coded email to drivers...The only winner in this na the ehailing coy.

There are a lot of issues drivers battle with. Some of them out of desperation took unreasonable HP and rental offers. They have to work round the clock to meet up.

The problem with this is, the car may not be able to withstand the kind of stress they subject it to. Week after week it's one problem or the other.

Those who drive their own cars obviously will fare better. I personally don't think e-hailing is as bad as is sometimes being portrayed. I believe those who drive their own cars can live decently on earnings from it.(earnings before the recent price increase)

You are very correct. Those who drive their own cars, and are prudent with spendings, make reasonable cash from e-hailing. You can never see them condemn driving. Bolt has to reduce their commission, slightly increase the fares for drivers to even up.

I think they have increased their price. I've been seeing some good deals on indrive recently.

If they like let them stay glued to their low fares. With subsidy gone, drivers who accept low fares will get sense by force
