Great! There are many ideas you could pump the money into, however, i must caution that you must carefully seek analyse all opitions.

mainwhile, i'd suggest you keep all the money in fixed deposits first. this will free your mind to think creatively.

you see, when u have a good sum of money, you may likely trap your creative muscles, put the money in a cool place, then think THOROUGHLY before you venture into any business

My guy, i really do not think it would be wise for you to liquidate your stock right now, you will be selling at a loss. besides, you may not get your check as soon as you desire it. i remember early this year when i desparately desired money, i had to sell off my Zenith bank shares at a reasonable price but i recieved my cheque after about 2 weeks. to me, it wasn't worth all the struggle.

There are other alternative means and methods to generate money for that piece of land, just keep thinking.

Good luck
Career / Re: Building A Career As A Professional Speaker In Nigeria. by mrpro2(m): 10:15pm On Apr 18, 2009
dadde:

this is a great passion how do one start a part time speakin job.cld u tell us ur strategies or clues. thanks.

If you intend to speak on a part time basis, i'd suggest you start where you are. Look for the closest place around you, you don't have to wait for a big opportunity. Create your opportunity. Create your path to the market.

Let me share my experience. Follow me carefully

When I started out in my speaking career (ofcourse, i must admit that it wasn't rosy), I was passionate about sharing relevant information with youths.

What I did was very simple. I proposed to a youth leader of a particular church that I was pretty much interested in building up the members (at no charge of course) by empowering them with a couple of achievement formulas i had invented. Guess what? I was given the opportunity. It was that simple, I guess that was the last time I spoke for free (if I can remember). It was a wonderful experience for me anyway.

Professional speaking spans across many circles and sectors. Networking with the best in the 'speaking field' will give you wonderful opportunities and a wide array of exposure.

Ensure you package your content creatively, then package your concept. Finally, package your container(pay serious attention to your grooming skills).

All is well. Good luck. I hope to hear you speak someday!

Hello Mr_Pro

This post of yours sounds quite interesting and should be quite relevant because public speaking does strike some form of butterflies into ppl (Me inclusive).
There was this one time I had to present this paper to my class, I got up there and my tongue just stuck to the roof of my mouth! In front of ppl I'd known 4 abt 3yrs.
It took major will power and mental 'ass kicking' to get back on track.

I read somewhere that to prevent this from happening one could try picturing everyone in the room NAKED. If you are one of those who can't control their lafta, pls do not try this.
These days, I tell myself beforehand, that no matter how imposing ur audience might be, there were once in your shoes. So there's nothing to get all twisted about.

To overcome the fear, you must face it squarely. Honestly speaking, with constant practise, you can become a guru.

Good luck to those who are in the transition stage of their careers.
Career / Speak Now Or Forever Remain Silent! by mrpro2(m): 11:01am On Apr 17, 2009
Hi friends and fellow Nairalanders

Why do some human beings dread speaking in public? Why na? (pardon my coloquial expression)

You see, God has given us our mouths to talk. Why should we keep them idle,

Please, I would like to hear our opinions as regards this issue o. It really bothers me when I assign some colleagues of mine to embolden their marketing campaign by speaking in public.

Do you know that you can reach more people in one instance while speaking in public? I don't think it has to be stressful at all. Rara!

How do you view the fear of public speaking? Why does the fear of speaking in public outweigh the fear of death?

I remember my first experience as a public speaker, Gosh! That was something else, I literarily thought i would die after the event. It was like a heavy task for me. Honestly speaking, it wasn't funny.Let's save the rest of the gist for another
time.

Well, to trim the very long story, thereby making it rather a short one, public speaking is a natural feat for me. I hardly have a good rest without venturing to speak in public. Public speaking has ushered me into spheres and environments that I never imagined within a short while.

Public speaking can give you a wonderful leverage in your career.

what do you think happened within the frame of time?

Let me give three rules in public speaking in order to trigger you into a brand new world,

First rule in killing stage fright and anxiety is to have the feeling that "It only

takes a competent person to stand before people that are seated". This suggests that you are competent enough to talk to people at that moment. It doesn't matter their age or sizes. This should boost your confidence.

Your mentality and perception of you speaking before a crowd actually will qualify you to speak.

Second Rule: Never become self conscious. Please, I will say it again: Never be self conscious. Be yourself. Avoid the false feeling that your audience is there to judge your style of speaking. In the first place, they are not your creator, Guess what? THE GOD THAT CREATED YOUR MOUTH WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOU SPEAK!!!" NEVER forget that.

Third Rule: You don't need to be too serious in order to speak. You don't even need to try to remember what to say. Try as much as possible to speak as though
you were in the midst of your closest friends.

Final admonition: Relax! The world will not collapse when you climb the stage to
give your speech. You can never be regarded as an humble personality when you are scared of speaking in public. As a matter of fact, you will be considered to be selfish when you keep things to yourself.

Stand up and speak the next time you have the opportunity to do so. You are not an animal!

Cheers and good luck!
