Shittu, you do have an inferiority complex. lol

orderly? Dude it's free meat LOL!
why do you need order? nobody got hurt, nobody fought, everyone came and got a piece. Should there have been a single file line?
queer
The thing I'm scared of is that the whale mighta eaten some kinda toxic waste. If it did so, then all the people that eat the meat are gonna end up with all kinds of diseases. Such threats do exist and pose very real threats to people. I mean you don't go to developed countries and see them eating any random meat that they find on beaches, now do you.

Waddya mean that technology's western. Listen bros, in the 1300s-1900s, long before colonialism and stuff, there was this thing, it was called the caliphate. Now the caliphate was a country of sorts that comprised of the entirety of the Arab world and ruled with shariah, and under the caliphate's rule, science and technology thrived in the Arab world and Arab countries became the most technologically progressive countries in the world. All these boko haram imbeciles pushing for technology's elimination are illiterates, Almajiris, that no absolutely nothing about Islam

^ gosh you sound so daft.

hope you're exporting your genes out of the country cos nigeria needs people with brains, at this level.
And by calling me daft you achieved,
I'm not saying I'm right. I just think that Ghanians'd approach this differently. If you think I'm wrong then, by all means, do so. I know what I said wasn't all that coherent, but I just think Ghanians'd be more orderly.

@Shittu, see what inferiority complex has done to your sense of reasoning. Sorry for you.
I don't have an inferiority complex, and criticize Ghana at any time possible, but when I think credit is due, I give it, and I think that if that whale was in Ghana, it;d be sent back into the sea. Why, you ask?, Because at Ghanian coasts some form of authority'd be there to organize the people and persuade them not to cut the beast up, and, rather, to push it back to the sea to allow for its natural decomposition and to prevent any medical problems arising if that whale died because of toxic waste consumption or something.
Food / Re: Whale In Lagos(with Pics) by MShittu: 8:10pm On Nov 05, 2010
If this were to happen in, say, Ghana, I bet that whale woulda been pushed back into the sea, no matter if it was dead or alive.
Politics / Re: How Does The Thieving Of Corrupt Nigerians Affect Their Kids? by MShittu: 8:07pm On Nov 05, 2010
My mom knows some. She went to school with Abacha's son in Maidugururi, and, according to her, that boy was an slowpoke. When he came out and ran for whatever post he wanted to, everyone called him a 'detribalised nigerian' bcuz he hd frends with all kinds of cultural heritages, but, according to my mom, he had no idea what he was doing and could not exploit or advertise himself as a 'detribalized nigerian'.
I am, however, close to a few richer nigerian kids, and those kids really don't known anything, or dont care about Nigeria and its governance. All they know is that PHCN is bad and when the lights go off, so do their game consoles.
Its not all of 'em tho. There are some who express genuine care for their country. I know a girl in the UK who's studying real hard cuz she wants to go and set up a free hospital up north in Gumel.
Politics / Re: How Does The Thieving Of Corrupt Nigerians Affect Their Kids? by MShittu: 8:01pm On Nov 05, 2010
I don't think they care. They might not even know! All they need to know is that they have money and live good lives. The families of corrupt politicians need to be jailed, no joke.

rethink:

First of all the Junaid Guy is an ape. He is stupidly feeding into the stereotypes that the soouthern Elites have created. This is why are argued that the Criminal Parasitic Elite will not leave Nigeria alone. They have their errand boys in every tribe. They recruit soldiers to propergate their evil schemes. They operate when they are not in power. The control indirectly. They are on Nairaland. We sell and buy all kinds of stereotypes and we painfully live with them till we die, we need to fight this mindset.
THANK YOU!

Politics / Re: Chinua Achebe - What Nigeria Means To Me by MShittu: 8:26pm On Nov 04, 2010
I want Igbos to spread around Nigeria and dominate economic sectors as they deem fit, as by doing so, Igbo people'll finally feel like a real part of the nation and the others'll see them as such, hopefully.

Politics / Re: Mass Transfer Imminent In Police by MShittu: 7:20pm On Nov 04, 2010
What I think they should do is FEDERALIZE the police force. I mean the current police force is much too large to work properly, and, as such, we need a decentralized police force in our nation. I mean we are a federal republic, right?
Politics / Re: Do Not Waste Your Votes Please by MShittu: 8:38pm On Nov 03, 2010
I'm pretty scared of the upcoming elections, cuz erything's being postponed. They'd better be doing so for good reason, cuz if they're not, then what we might be seeing is an attempt by GEJ to perpetuate himself in power. I'm just hoping I'm paranoid tongue

Onlytruth:

I am a strong supporter of businessmen and entrepreneurs. If northerners are serious and DOMINATE the agric sector properly, may be Nigeria can feed Africa, and really start to be weaned off oil money.

They should stop wasting their time and ours in politics. They are not good national leaders. Others are better at that.

I would want my Igbo folks to dominate science, technology and industry, 'cos we are good at it.

Not that no northerner should be involved in politics, but they are DISPROPORTIONATELY involved in politics.

I agree, but northerners don't even know that agriculture possesses so much potential! I mean it was only a while ago that those Shonga farm fellows started teaching Fulanis how to milk their cows. The northerners who are in a position to revolutionize agriculture are too busy making money off the Niger Delta's oil to even try to think about the money they could make off agriculture.
The North MUST be EDUCATED!!!!
Politics / The Militants Are Back! by MShittu: 9:34am On Oct 30, 2010

Yenagoa — Exactly one year after the amnesty programme came into effect in the Niger Delta, militants bared their fangs again in Bayelsa State in the early hours of yesterday when they blew up two pipelines belonging to the Nigeria Agip Oil Company, forcing a shut in of 60,000 of crude oil per day.

Since the amnesty came into effect in October last year, the Niger Delta has enjoyed relative peace enabling oil production which was halved in 2009 by militant attacks on oil installations to climb to over 2 million barrels a day this year.

The bombed pipelines operated by Agip, a subsidiary of the Italian oil multinational, ENI Group, run from the Osiama oilfield in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area to Brass. The blast is believed to have caused an oil spill in the area.Sources said the militants also opened fire on AGIP officials who went to investigate the blast, but the men escaped unhurt.

The militant leader involved in the attack was said to have sent a message to Agip that the attack "is the beginning of a full scale war with the company and its operations in the area."

It was gathered that the militant leader, who was among the first militants to lay down their weapons under the amnesty programme, returned to the creeks a few weeks ago following his "dissatisfaction" with the implementation of the amnesty.

The man was said to have called on the management of Agip to demand for patronage but was turned down.

The militant who did not hide his identity sent a text message to the Agip station manager in charge of the Osiama flow station promising them hell.

An Agip official's text message to security operatives in Yenagoa after the attack read: "Technical operators visited Osiama field to re-open the OS 2Ls that is not flowing. While working, they heard a loud blast like dynamite on the pipeline right of way across the river.

"On going to verify, they saw a spray of oil and a boat with gunmen who opened fire on them. They (Agip operators) took off and have arrived at the station. They (militants) might have blasted the 10-inch pipeline too."

As at the time of this report, Agip was said to be evacuating its staff from the area for fear of a possible resurgence of full-scale militant operations.

The attacks is the first significant hit on Nigeria's oil and gas installations since an amnesty was granted to over 20,000 militants who laid down their weapons last year in return for promises of cash payments, reintegration and training programmes.

The Osiama flow station is one of the fields feeding the Brass Oil terminal, the largest oil lifting facility in the country.
