Hi Newmum 0615, I didn't have a similar issue but in addition to the brilliant responses you have received, I wanted to share a few thoughts regarding the first question below.

The definition of skilled work experience from the CIC website is as follows:

Skilled work experience
You must have at least one year, in the last ten years before you submit your electronic application for permanent residence, of continuous full-time work experience (or the equivalent in continuous part-time work) in a skilled occupation listed in Skill Type 0, or Skill Level A or B of the 2016 version of Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC)

So long as the job you did is a skill type O,A or B and you have over 1 year experience, then you're good to go. With regards to the Job title and NOC duties specified and the mix up you had, an LOE will suffice.

My assumption is that you have been invited, so effect the corrections and attach a detailed LOE. Additionally provide enough proof to convince any case officer that you completed the tasks listed. In addition to a detailed reference letter, I suggest other relevant documents to prove employment.

Newmum0615:
Good morning my people, please I need answers to these questions.
1. Can I modify an info on my profile post-ITA but before eAPR? I realized I mixed up my job titles. Can I do it now before I continue my application, the way I could before the ITA came or must I continue the application, modify the info then save and exit till when I am fully ready to submit my application at the end of January? And will I need to include an LOE to explain why I am changing the title names? I am already planning to change my NOC post-ITA.
2. Hubby's passport bears only his first name and surname, no middle name. I entered the pool with it like that, but I want to know if I can change it to reflect his middle name since we have an affidavit covering his middle name. Must his name be entered exactly the way it is on his travel document or can an affidavit be uploaded to show the reason for the disparity?

Biko, help me answer. Thanks.

I will try to list the ones I can remember. Other esteemed members of this forum will always cover the remaining gaps.

I made a folder on my laptop with different folders so I won't misplace or incorrectly update the right document in the wrong place.

Birth Certificate( Biographical data pages, Birth certificates)

Proof of Funds ( credit card statements, treasury bills, joint savings accounts, Fixed deposit statements etc)

Proof of Study(IELTS, Degree certificates and ECA reports)

Proof of work experience - Reference letters, Payslips and Employment letter (optional)

Medical examination confirmation

Police character certificate(s)

Marriage Certificate

Digital photo

I might be missing some but different candidates will have different personalized documents checklist. Personally I visited the link below more than a thousand times ....just kidding, but depending on whether you have a provincial nomination, Canadian work experience, french language tests, adoption certificates, death certificate, change of name documents etc , I really suggest you spend quality time studying the link below.

Congrats mate

knightfemi:
Silent reader here. I am glad to announce we got our Passport Request (PPR) today!!! Hopefully this will encourage those in waiting.

More details below:

Family Composition: 3 - Myself, Spouse and Daughter
Travel History: UK, USA, Spain, Italy, Germany, Qatar, UAE, Hungary... the list goes on and irrelevant.
Acknowledgement of Receipt: 28 April 2017
Medical Passed: Mid- June 2017 (We sorted our medicals few weeks before AOR)
Background Check (NA1): August 2017
Additional Document Request: 2nd August 2017 (Schedule A for spouse)
Background Check (IP1): Mid-August 2017
File Transferred to London VO: 5th September 2017
Background Check (NA2): September 2017
Background Check (IP2): 5th December 2017
Passport Request (PPR): 5th December 2017

The entire process from AOR to PPR took 221days. The wait was very frustrating for us as it took much longer than the average processing time, it got even worse when we read how London VO keep files in their queue for much longer than expected. We are however grateful to the Almighty for seeing us through to the finish line before the end of the year.

Wishing those still waiting the very best in this journey. Cheers

Hi guys, thanks for bringing this issue up as it's made me to do some research and realise that I was not completely correct in what I said initially. I performed a Google search on Wikipedia and looked up some of the references to ascertain the genuineness.

The Wikipedia article indicates that there are many ways of obtaining citizenship. It could be through marriage, birth, descent, investment, adoption, naturalisation, Religion e.g. Israel and holding an office e.g. Vatican city
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_citizenship

It also highlights the complex laws associated obtaining dual citizenship. Some countries allow it and others simply forbid it.

This link below shows a list of countries that allows dual citizenship and those that don't. http://dlgimmigration.com/united-states-citizenship/list-of-countries-that-allow-or-disallow-dual-citizenship/

A look through the article will be a good starting point for anyone in a quandary regarding dual citizenship issues. Moreover visiting each country's immigration website will contain relevant information .

Additionally I will provide some examples. I have a friend here in Australia, we completed a course together in Nigeria and afterwards he went to Canada for his M.sc. After his Masters he got married and had a child there. Meanwhile, he was unable to obtain Canadian residency for himself and his Nigerian wife. He applied for and obtained Australian residency and migrated to Australia in 2016. Fast forward to 2017, he became eligible for Canadian residency and he returned to Canada to activate the visa, and there the Immigration authorities informed him that his daughter cannot have 3 citizenships, he will have to eventually renounce either Nigerian or Australian if the child will be Canadian.

Another example is a Sierra Leonean friend who lived in the UK and obtained British citizenship. When he got married to his Australia wife and decided to migrate to Australia, he had to renounce his Sierra Leonean citizenship before he could obtain Australian citizenship, since he was not allowed to have 3 citizenships.

The last example is that of Brian Idowu the Russian/Nigerian soccer player. He has only featured in friendly soccer match, when he features in a competitive fixture, he might have to give up his Russian citizenship before he can feature prominently for Nigeria , since Russia does not allow dual citizenship.

In anyways am not trying to distract the focus of this thread, I believe learning is a continuous process and we learn each day.

Having a countries permanent residence is different from obtaining citizenship. A person can become a citizen of another country either by birth or naturalization.

A person cannot be a citizen of more than two countries. Whilst an individual can live in different countries and possess their permanent visas, obtaining citizenship and swearing an oath of allegiance to that particular country through naturalization is a different ball game.

If a person that has more than two valid passports of different countries, please confirm from the person how he/she obtained it.

The maximum number of citizenship's a person can have is two. An individual will have to renounce one of the citizenships in the event his/her eligibility is for more than two different nationalities.

@enocoded4life Thanks

@sleekysilk English test has 2 years validity period from the date the test was taken. I had to lodge my AOR before the 7th of November 2017. wink

@ laminaria , I have replied your email, and am happy to provide further assistance. The main reason why applicants from Australia get rejected is due to Police report. In addition to a Police check, if you live in Victoria or Queensland, you must include a copy of your full licence history Licence report in the last 10 years or since you turned 18 or whenever you first obtained the Australian licence. I read on some forum too that if you were ever convicted of drunk driving, you will in ineligible to enter Canada.

@aragonbaba You will get it.

@caon All the best too.
