He seems really nice and caring, but since this is my first time talking to someone that is not an American black man I wanted some advice. First I was a little hesitant to continue to talk to him, but I am still communicating. Right now he is in Nigeria and will be back to the states at the end of this month. He keep saying how impressed he is of me and how he loves me so much. He keeps saying that God brought me into his life and he will never let me go. But that was after I busted him for talking to other woman, but yet telling me he is not. Of course that is know different than American black men.

With all the comments I have read the majority seem to think it would be wise to not get involved with a Nigerian man, but then you can say that about many other race of men. Love is about taking a chance with someone and since I am not familiar with their culture. I want to learn as much as I can about him and his family to make a clear and prayerful decision as to if I should continue in the relationship or not. When I was going to stop talking to him after I busted him, he called me and begged me not to stop talking to him and not to leave him. He texted and called like crazy professing his love for me and that he knows that God brought me into life and that I am to be his wife.

Are all Nigerians the type of men that profess love to a woman they have never met. We have been talking for about a week going
on two and he has all but proposed, wants me to meet his mother and come to his house in SC. This is new for me and would love comment.

Since u havebt met in person...it could be a scan. Tell him to send u an email....then ck his email header for his ip address...that will tell u ig he's in the states or anothercountry....I've been invokve with two Nigeria scamets and I never send them anythg but I keep them hoping so they can't scam others....they do tell u they love and want to marry u from the start....their words are honey @ first....but later on when u refuse to send them gifts and money they can't get very nasty be careful

If its marriage fraud they will use their personal life, let you meet their family and everything to make it look real to you

BrokenHeart: No one is coming here to be abused. We are asking questions because I am going to be real here American men do not do things like this. We have tried to be respectful towards Nigerians, and Nigerian culture, and basically what i know now i would not even post. But a lazy American husband would still bring something to the table, and cook dinner. American women who marry Nigerian men are not desperate. Most likely are college educated. I am sorry Americans tend to be more honest, and when we love we love. But no one is going to sponsor some lazy ass liar and bring them to America here. This would be viewed as a security issue for my country sponsoring some fake oko. My fake husband can stay in 9ja until he dies. Just want to know if the different ages on the passport and National ID card can help for an annulment or divorce for marriage fraud. and I am trying to find a marriage registry site online to see if I can research his marriage/marriges. If anyone has any information as to whether there is an online wedding registry site it would be greatly appreciated, I can and will find someone else that is real like the other ladies who went through this marriage scam. The men who did this are criminals, and you would think Nigerians would be ashamed of all this. The corruption problems are so deep there, that they may be in a lot of the general population, not just the government officials. In my country if a man did this he would be viewed as a criminal, and be arrested. This should be unacceptable what is going on. All this scamming effects your economy and tourism potentials, and even job opportunities. This effects the way Nigeria is viewed globally. Eventually enough Americans will not trust Nigerians's period. I can divorce my criminal for very little money, but I do not recognize this as a valid marriage, and I am going to try for an annulment. Maybe any of us who have been through this ordeal should contact the Nigerian Embassy, and let them know who the duper is, and find out how to file marriage fraud charges in Nigeria instead of asking for help here. I will not even admit I am married to this person in my country. And that marriage certificate he will never get his hands on in life. Ladies keep your marriage certificates because these men will marry another victim, and the proof what happened is with you, and keeping the marriage certificate can lead one day to criminal prosecution for bigamy, or someone who committed marriage fraud. Its 2-10 years imprisonment if you remember what they told us at the marraige registry, and that is not imprisonment for us. It is for the men who have lied to us, married for a possbile green card, and/ or committed bigamy, and most likely paid bribes. It's just shameful what is going on really.

awofasteph: I believe you did not read my statement correctly. I did not say I hate Americans, I said West Indians hate them. What is said is that African Americans are lazy, dont like to work and have a bad culture. I also stated I was made fun of by my own family members who used the term "Yankee" when referring to me or my other american born counterparts. If I was closed minded then I would not have taken the step to marry a man from a culture that is known to have a bad stigma, now would I?

I must disagree with you regarding your statement West Indian do no like American or African American, please don't lead these people to put labels on us. I am West Indian from Trinidad engage to an Igbo man and I love him as we'll as all my American men, black white Indians etc.

I experience the same thing with my Igbo man, we dated for a year and with time the relationship fell apart due to his lack of communication, when I told him we need to spend time together, his response was..I working or watching the game. I started to feel like the last thing on his list. Needless to say....I walked and now looking for a mature man to have a relationship with. Enough with the child's play dates.
