Sports / Re: Match Against Mexico by naijajew(m): 3:19am On Oct 15, 2007
I thought they put in quite a good performance individually.I was impressed with Apam,Uche,Etuhu,Ishiaku and Martins.I thought the midfield did well, they kept it simply and denied Mexico the chance to play their passing game. They also used route one tactics(long balls)- which players in this region struggle against-to unsettle the Mexican defense.
The whole team did well to keep up with the Mexican team, since they were playing at a bit of an altitude(700Km above sea level) and in hot/humid weather(the game was at 2pm local time).
They still have a lot of work to do though
BY THE BUSH(WAY):Berti Vogts looks really fit for a 60 year old.28 years after he retired from playing,he looked like he could still get in there and play.

Sports / Is 2007 Pfa Team Of The Year A Joke? by naijajew(m): 9:11pm On Apr 24, 2007
Hi guys,
Do you agree with 2007 PFA team of the year award.

Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra (all Man Utd); Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo (all Man Utd) and Steven Gerrard (Liverpool); Didier Drogba (Chelsea) and Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham)

In my opinion it's a huge joke.Van der Sar,Rio,Neville have no business in that team.
Ben Foster or David James, Richardo Cavalhio,Michael Essein have done better in these postions, and I think Benni McCathy should have got a look in as well.
What do you think?

Cheers

Sports / Re: Ronaldinho Or Okocha: Who Is More Skillful? by naijajew(m): 3:41am On Apr 23, 2007
Ronaldinho has a hint of Okocha in his game. That tells you he learnt quite a few things from a certain Okocha who was his teammate at some point.
Bottomline-Okocha is the master while Ronaldinho was and is still his apprentice. If only Okocha is "Okochadinho" he would have won the World player of the year award a dozen times.

Sports / Re: Pele Or Maradonna by naijajew(m): 2:27am On Apr 20, 2007
no my friend pele was and still is controversial.Research his life and you will know what i'm talking about.
Maradona was the greatest footballer ever.
compare Brazilian teams with Pele in them and the Argentine team of 1986 and 1990,you will find that Brazil had stars in every postion, but Argentina had just Maradona in every department.
He took Napoli FC from nothing to something and when he left, they went back to,well, square one. That my friends is greatness.

Cheers

Politics / Re: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by naijajew(m): 3:18pm On Apr 19, 2007
After 46 years we still talk about HAUSA,YORUBA,IJAW,IGBO etc.
Shame on Nigeria and Nigerians-especially those who keep looking a reason to hate his neighbor.
By the way those who hate Igbos so much, have you ever thought about what these guys went through during the Biafrian war.
Do you realize that people lost loved ones and fortunes during the war. Nobody talks about that and the fact that the Nigerian government still practices systematic and institutionalized tribalism-against Igbos and yet these people fight to keep their head above water.
Philip Emeagwali, Chinua Achebe,Jay Jay Okocha-mention Nigeria and these guys come to mind-are Igbos who have succeeded in spite of all these and still they think of themselves first as Nigerians before they are Igbo, and so do millions of other Igbo men and women around the world.

I know a brainless blogger,a total air head will write some smug comments about this and think his smart-well for you information Mr Tribalist-on-the-internet, I've a think skin and no matter what you write it will make stop seeing you as a total nitwit, an ignoramus, and a buffoon.Go ahead write and make my day.

Politics / Re: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by naijajew(m): 4:56am On Apr 19, 2007
STOP!THINK!! We just drifted from Nigeria's Image to Igbo bashing and tribal mudslinging. That my friends is the trouble with NIGERIA! cry
Passing the buck and blaming our neighbors. That is what we do best.
Tell me guys,do you have IGBO,YORUBA or IJAW written on your passport?what the immigration officer at any airport sees is that little green booklet with NIGERIA written on it.

FINE!
