Politics / Re: North Must Prepare For Possible Separation, Says Prof. Lugga by Nasman(m): 8:54am On Oct 18 |
VULCAN:Channelling energy towards elected officials is a viable approach. Nigeria's democratic structure empowers Senators, National Assembly members and governors to advocate for regional interests. However, their silence on separatism suggests underlying complexities. |

Politics / Re: North Must Prepare For Possible Separation, Says Prof. Lugga by Nasman(m): 9:21pm On Oct 13 |
I strongly agree with Prof. Sani Abubakar Lugga's call for the North to unite and prepare for self-determination. The region must: 1. Unite to defend its rights and interests. 2. Take proactive measures to address security challenges. 3. Prepare for potential separation from Nigeria. Community-led actions are crucial to address socioeconomic and security issues. The North must take charge of its destiny and prepare for the future. 34 Likes 4 Shares |

Politics / Re: Voting Patterns In The South East 1999 Till 2023. Show Me The Tribal Correlation by Nasman(m): 11:12pm On Sep 19 |
I understand your point, but I respectfully disagree. While the voting patterns you provided do suggest that the South East region has consistently voted for candidates from other regions, it's oversimplifying to say that tribe played no significant role in the 2023 presidential election. The complexity of Nigerian politics and the myriad factors influencing voting decisions cannot be reduced to a single factor. Tribal considerations have historically played a significant role in shaping Nigerian politics, particularly in regional voting patterns [1). For instance, the 28% vote share for Ojukwu in 2003, despite being an Igbo candidate, may indicate that factors beyond tribe influenced voting decisions. Similarly, Buhari's increased percentage in the South East despite having Igbo running mates in 2003 and 2007 suggests that other factors, such as performance, policies, or national issues, also swayed voters. Moreover, the significant difference in vote share between Peter Obi (91%) and previous Igbo presidential candidates (Orji Uzo Kalu, Pat Utomi, and Kingsley Moghalu) hints at a unique factor in the 2023 election, potentially beyond tribal considerations. Let's acknowledge that Nigerian politics is multifaceted, and both tribal and national issues intersect to shape voting patterns. We should strive for nuanced discussions, recognizing the complexity of these dynamics. |

Nigeria recognized Palestinian statehood on 18 November 1988. Nigeria has voted in favour of Palestine at the United Nations at the time. Palestine has an embassy in Abuja and their ambassador recently went on a solidarity visit across Northern Nigeria. 1 Like |

Keep dreaming. Check this out. Vice President - North East Deputy Senate President - North West Speaker - North West. SGF - North Central NSA - North East (TBA). And in your myopic reasoning. North is irrelevant. Now this and have peace. North is the power broker in Nigerian politics. Together with South West, we will continue to rule this country till kingdom come 2 Likes 1 Share |
