Emerging reports said Biafra Separatists has gained full control of Bakassi Peninsula as men of the Rapid d'intervention Battalions, BIR, Cameroonian Elite Military unit reportedly withdrew its forces, gunboats from Abana waterfront.

This is coming days after a daredevil militant group, Black Marine, alleged to be armed wing of Nigeria separatist group BnL (Biafra Nations League) bombed a military helicopter in the region.

It was gathered that the militant group has since siezed control of the Abana waterfront.

Abana also known as Jabane is the headquarters of BIR.

Sources said that the government forces have not finally withdrawn but retreated to restrategize and return to dislodge the separatist militants.

No fewer than three members of the Nigerian Navy has been killed by suspected loyalist of Biafra Separatists believed to be Black Marine.

Eyewitness said that Soldiers conducting a search operations at the Gulf of Guinea were attacked near the Bakassi Peninsula.

The incident happened around 3pm in Uyenghe town, Mbo local government area of Akwa Ibom State.

No official statement yet from the Naval Base.

Suspected members of the Biafra Nations League, BnL, have killed three Cameroonian Gendarmes in Atabong East of Bakassi Peninsula, collecting their rifles.

Report said the BnL boys numbering five overwhelmed three Gendarmes at the market hitting them hard with weapons, one of them who quickly snatched a gun shot the three officers and ran away with the guns.

This happened at 11am today, Sunday, August 18.

Separatists has been troubling the Bakassi Peninsula especially armed forces loyal to the BnL.

Operational Coordinator of BnL, Henry Edet confirmed the incident.

No fewer than five persons has been killed in the early hours of today as Combined team of Cameroonian Forces and Biafra Separatist groups are still battling for control of Bakassi Peninsula south at the Eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea.

Local report says that the reinforced Cameroonian Forces had moved into Idabato subdivision and Kumbo Itindi subdivision in the evening on Sunday 28 July, launching an attack on both the Black Marine and Dragon Fighter Marine , armed separatists who teamed up to take Bakassi south.

Four Cameroonian Soldiers has been reportedly killed, including one separatist, it was gathered that bullet also hit the G2 of the Black Marine and has been fatally injured as at the time of this report.

The gun battle happened from 5am, it is not clear if the Biafra Separatists has been dislodged from the high sea.

Few days ago, the separatist fled to Equatorial Guinea Island and were confronted on a face to gun battle by Equatorial Guinea Forces which led to the death of three Equatorial Guinea Navy and one separatist, the group also returned to the Bakassi Peninsula an area Biafra claims.

Four persons has been killed during bloody clashes between pro Biafra Separatist armed groups, Dragon Fighter Marine, Black Marine and Equatorial Guinea Forces as separatists who fled from combined team of Cameroonian Forces to the Equatorial Guinea Island were confronted by Equatorial Guinea Navy on the Atlantic Ocean, along the Bakassi south high sea, the boundary extends through the Gulf of Guinea for 98 M and is defined by ten coordinate points that are connected by a series of geodesic lines.
The country's armed forces were said to have mistaken the separatists who crossed to the Island to be sea pirates.

One member of the separatist and three of Equatorial Guinea armed forces were killed during the unfortunate clashes.

The incident happened at 4pm on Friday July 25.

It was gathered that the Biafra loyalist group surrounded the residential apartment of the Cameroonian commander with explosives, having fired several shots killing the BIR commander.

A source who pleaded anonymous said he was sure that the commander of the division has been killed.

The attack took place at 5am on Saturday.

Cameroon authorities are yet to confirm the killing of the BIR Fly commander.

Explosion has killed 11 members of the Joint Border Patrol at the maritime border area of Bakassi Peninsula in the morning on Sunday.

Local report say that unidentified suicide bomber came down from a fishing boat and walked straight to the Joint Border Patrol base on the Cameroonian axis when the bomb exploded, killing the suicide bomber, 7 Cameroonian Forces and 3 Nigerian troops.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack forced the vip boats and government forces to flee for the safety of occupants.

Nigeria Police has arrested suspected members of the Biafra Nations League, BnL numbering four in Ikang - Cameroon border area of Bakassi local government area of Cross River State.

Eye witness said operatives stormed Ikang market in the morning on Thursday to arrest the suspects for asking the people to sit at home.

In Atabong East this morning, military helicopters were seen dropping Cameroonian air raids, the Rapid d'intervention Battalions, BIR, have also restricted movement to and around the BIR headquarters in Abana.

This is coming after the Biafra Nations League, BnL, two days ago ban businesses, both local and international trade at sea in the Bakassi Peninsula.

The Peninsula have witnessed series of attacks from separatists fighters loyal to the BnL.

Bakassi Peninsula Separatist Leader, Princewill Chimezie Richards, pioneer founder of the Biafra Nations League, BnL, has issued warning notice to foreign business men, oil dealers to shutdown business activities at the Eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea on 30 May, to mark the Biafra heroes day.

Princewill said his group will monitor all nooks and crannies and would enforce the ban on both local and international trade at sea.

It is believed that the two armed groups, Black Marine and Dragon Fighter Marine are working for the BnL, these groups have carried out several attacks on Cameroonian troops and the Joint Border Patrol team of Nigeria and Cameroon, seizing control of some localities in the Bakassi area, efforts by the government to restore peace in the region have proved abortive.

Pro Biafra militant group, Dragon Fighter Marine has eliminated the Atabong East commander of the Cameroonian Rapid d'intervention Battalions, BIR in Idabato subdivision of Bakassi Peninsula.

The separatist were reportedly hiding near the residential house of the BIR commander with their Bikes, drove into the arena and threw explosives killing five Soldiers and the commander who was about entering his boat.

A CCTV footage around the army quarters showed the residential building of the commander.

Separatists fighters believed to be Black Marine in the morning on Monday bombed a Abana divisional police station, killing the assistant divisional officer and several other officers in the station.

Eye witness said separatists stormed the police station with explosives , bombing the division, leading to the death of 9 officers, more than 20 detainees escaped during the attack.

The Black Marine reportedly seized control of the Police station as at the time of this report.

Report coming in from the Bakassi Peninsula Says a Military Helicopter hovering around the of Abana was bombed this morning on Sunday, at 9am by suspected Biafra separatists fighters.

Report said all persons onboard were burnt.

Officials of the Joint Border Patrol at the maritime border have not made any comment since the disgraceful attack!

Abana, is reportedly the headquarters of the Rapid d'intervention Battalions (BIR), it is also a major stronghold of the Biafra separatist fighters, both armed groups has been showing their strength in Abana.

The Rapid d'intervention Battalions, BIR, have reportedly smuggle it's commander out from the headquarters after two explosives were fired by the Biafra separatist fighter group, Black Marine iside the BIR headquarters in Abana, the center of Bakassi Peninsula.

As at 6am, separatists stormed the area with three boats and fired severally with the intention of killing the commander of BIR.

It was gathered that the BIR Delta returned overwhelming fire after smuggling it's commander out from the military base.

Defense Minister of Cameroon, Joseph Betti Assomo have charged men of the Rapid d'intervention Battalions, (with french acronym 'BIR') to eliminate Pro - Biafra separatist militants at Bakassi Peninsula.

Assomo made the call while answering questions from newsmen in Mundemba, Ndian division of South West Cameroon.
Assomo said allowing Biafra militants launching attacks on BIR headquarters is a big blow to the government of Cameroon.

Abana renamed Jabane by the Cameroonian authority is known to be the headquarters of the BIR.

Recall that in the last January, Defense Minister visited the headquarters of the Cameroon Elite Military (BIR) in Abana, now known as Jabane to encourage troops within the region.
