Food / Re: Nigerian Names Of Herbs And Plants by Nibeo: 10:04am On Jul 02, 2016
PapiWata:
Miracle Fruit or Miracle Berry, is know in Yoruba as "Agbayun-kun". It is native to west Africa but is exploited commercially mostly in The Americas and the Far East, with seed stock or cuttings obtained originally from Africa, then selectively bred over decades for desirable traits.

The "miracle" of this fruit is that it contains unique compounds that "deceive" our taste buds to perceive virtually ALL foods as tasting VERY sweet, for up to 30 minutes after a Miracle Fruit has been eaten. These fruits have enormous potential for use by people who are under medical advice to reduce or remove sugar from their diets. Simply eating a miracle fruit just before a meal imparts the illusion of sweet taste to our taste buds, even when NO sugar is added to breakfast cereals, beverages, and indeed any dish or drink to which sugar is generally added for taste.

I remember we were given this one day growing up. We had a swell time experimenting wit it, we licked it then soaked garri and drank and we almost killed ourselves taking the garri plain with water cos it was sooooo sweet. Someone said it could be found at Abeokuta, I will sure go look for it.
Thank you for sharing

Note that this picture is magnified. The true size of the miracle fruit is about the size of your smallest finger-tip. This tree is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to germinate and grow from seed, and only slightly less challenging to propagate with cuttings. Who ever in Nigeria first unlocks the key to mass planting miracle fruit shrubs for the export market will without question retire rich at a young age.
Politics / Re: Ultimate Warriors of Niger Delta Emerges, Demands 60% Oil Bloc by Nibeo: 10:12pm On Jun 08, 2016
Waa gbayi, true talk

YoursGEJ:
Don't they also want all corruption charges against ND politicians who stole money to be dropped?

The problem of the Niger Delta is found in their own house. These states get 13% derivation from crude oil sales. Before you say that is not enough, just look at the infrastructure that has been developed by Akwa Ibom (good roads everywhere, world-class hospital and stadium) and Cross River states (Tinapa, Obudu, etc). You'll rarely hear of militant/criminal activities in these two states

Ok lets look at Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa states where militancy are concentrated. These states are the highest beneficiaries from the 13% derivation rule, collecting trillions of Naira since it was implemented. Do you hear of life-changing infrastructure being built with the money? No. What we hear is Alamesigha dressed as a woman to escape bail from UK, Peter Odili granted perpetual injunction, James Ibori in jail in UK (forfeiting hundreds of millions of pounds meant to develop his state to the UK that does not even need the money), etc. Furthermore, their own son was president for six years and he could not implement a single project in his village not to talk of his state belente his geographical zone.

Yet, criminals from these particular three states (Delta being the main one), continue to blame 'lack of federalism' while asking for corruption charges to be dropped against thieves like them. Akwa Ibom and Cross River are leaving you people behind and I don't see the same 'lack of federalism' holding them back. SMH.

If you give Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa their own country, they will loot themselves dry and still blame the poor Hausa man in Bauchi who's farming onions. People in the ND need to hold their leaders accountable while also looking at the mirror.

Rant over

Its funny how people go about overhyping the padded and corrupt budget as if it passage would bring an end to the masses suffering. This is the first time in Nigeria's history that a budget has generated so much talks in the street.

The only good thing here is that they won't have any excuse to give for their failure.

Buhari is one of the biggest scam ever sold to Nigerians. By 2019 we go know how far.

So Uncle Jona no be scammer, wey distribute our national wealth. I think you are related to the clueless idiots dat bombed Chevron when they should have gone after their warlords that made money for themselves and didn't remember your likes.
Not surprised at your comment, you won't know a good thing if it bit you in d face shocked

Politics / Re: How Nigeria’s Military Killed My 4 Children In One Night – ABU Lecturer by Nibeo: 5:47pm On Jan 02, 2016
I do feel for you loosing 4 people like that but we need to ask the right questions and use the brains God gave us.
Any parent will think twice about dropping off people when you already heard there was an upheaval where you were going to. There are so many loopholes in the story :
1. Why continue when you knew there was trouble?
2. Why did you return home alone and waited till the next day before doing anything about your children?
3. As a learned person, why did you not advice your leader accordingly when he told you he had intelligence reports about the army using such opportunity to attack the group?

There are other questions begging to be answered and I implore every reader to think twice before commenting on this story and blaming the army or the group. Something doesn't just seem right with this story.
