Wetin you dey talk sef.

Tobi Amusan is not a US citizen. How could she have represented the US without being a citizen? She was born in Nigeria.

She can still represent the US oga... The IAAF rule allows for easy change of nationality.. Amusan, I believe already meets the requirement for US citizenship cus she's been living there since 2016... If she wants to switch to the US today, she can

Bro you worse pass this papi guy self

I asked you a simple question.
Would you pick Spencer that’s always injured over those 4 players i listed above ?
Kevin Durant
Jason Tatum
Devin booker
Dame lillard

You as a general manager you would pick Spencer as a starter and the core of your team over these guys ?

Yes or no

I never mentioned og even if oG doesn’t play for us
I respect him 💯 percent because that guy can’t cook almost any Nigerian soup single handedly

If you see the egusi he made for Demar derozan
See as the thing thick and dry damn 😭

You never mentioned OG, but u brought some other point guards into the discussion..
You're trying to divert.. go and sit down

I asked a simple question

Kevin Durant
Jason Tatum
Dame dollar
Devin booker

The above 4 players mentioned
Has there ever been a season where spencer outplayed them ?

If this 4 players where to be draft picks
Would you pick Spencer above them. ?

You’re just fooling yourself with stupid narrative.
10/10 rewind time Spencer would never made that team

I’m no Spencer hater I’m a Brooklyn nets fan we got swept last month by Philly

But Spencer is not the man my dude

He’s like Jadon sancho a box of spark but never consistent

You're just diverting... I never brought a comparison between Spencer and the other guards called up for the Olympics...

What I'm telling you is that Spencer didn't decide to represent Nigeria because he didn't have a chance with thr US... Plenty of players not better than him have represented team US... Chikena

OG Anunoby would have been part of our Olympic team, but he pulled out due to some reason at the last minute... He hasn't decided to represent the UK, his country of birth either.. would u say OG is a role player too? 🤣

You're mixing things up. That something could happen doesn't mean it did. I'll give you an example of one that happened.

Glory Alozie once represented Nigeria and won the African championship and commonwealth games gold medal for Nigeria. She also won Silver for Nigeria at the Olympics and World Athletics Championship. She however switched to Spain in 2001 and went ahead to win goals for them at the European championships. Such things exist, but with Tobi's case I expressed doubt that it happened.

The reason is simple, Tobi's record prior to that Diamond league in 2021 or so wasn't seller. Of course she was winning the African and Commonwealth games but US athletes had way better time. She wasn't podium worthy at the World championship and the Olympics. Her best time I think was 12.68 or so. It was when she hit the 12.42 at the diamond's league that things started looking great. She even almost quit cause of not making the podium.

And for the WNBA, you're making my point for me. The WNBA has a maximum of 144 roster spots. Just this year, they've cut numerous no 1 draft picks, that's how competitive it is. So if you don't make that cut you obviously wouldn't even remotely considered for team USA. It's why I'm hoping Arike switches to Nigeria cause they have 10 people who can take a spot and they'll still be elite. But Nigeria is obviously not her first choice, it doesn't mean there aren't persons who right from the start will chose Nigeria. They are just very few.

USA won't wait until you start winnning medals before trying to woo you to represent them...that's beneath them... Even some of their elite athletes didn't start winning medals from the start.... Tobi was under their reach as a collegiate athlete when she was winning medals for her school. They could have approached her there..

Bro you’re dumb asf

Jeremy grant is a power forward

Spender dinwiddie Is a shooting gaurd and point guard

If dinwiddie was healthy 101 percent

Name any of the guards he would be able to bench on this rooster

There’s never been a point in history where spencer was considered better than these guys listed above

So shut your trap on what you don’t know please sit back down and talk about football

Or should i bring stats to back my claim ?

Twice now, you've insulted me unprovoked.. it's quite characteristic of you..

When did I compare Grant and Spencer's position? If Grant could make the list ahead of better forwards, what make you think Spencer won't? Go and check USA squad to the 2019 basketball world cup..how many top grade players were there?

You had to go to Google to bring out the squad list 🤣🤣

The thing you are missing is that the player in question is not a superstar. It's not hard to see that he will go where he is wanted and cherished (a shirt)

Facility? Education? For someone who grew in Arsenal?

You don't even need to assume what I'd pick. We have people who "settled" for SE. Why?

Right of choice becomes narrow when you are not spectacular and no disrespect to Folarin, we can't describe him as spectacular

I just remembered this Nigerian player that opted to play for Haiti . Emmanuel or something like that... Baba later told the media that he opted for Haiti because Nigeria demanded for bribe ..who he wan whine? 🤣.
There was also Kenneth Otigba who wanted Nigeria over Hungary, a more developed country.... Alaba too...

True, naturally, we are second choice to a lot of these foreign borns, but in the end, they all prefer which country they feel can help their career more.. For instance, why is Olise yet to decide on his international career? Breaking into the English and French team would be a bit hard for him, so that leaves him with Nigeria and Algeria. Algeria is a better country than Nigeria, yes, but why hasnt he considered them? Maybe fear of being targeted as an outcast?

True, the Ogwumike sisters are elite players (Nneka mostly). They were both no 1 WNBA draft picks but Nneka has featured the most for USA (mostly at the world cup) and injury hasn't exactly the favourable to them Chiney. Both sisters are very proud of their heritage, but it doesn't mean they would have chosen to play for Nigeria. Nneka only considered playing for Nigeria when it became obvious she was never going to get a chance to feature in the Olympics for team USA even though she deserves and has earned it (she's been snubbed twice).

The Tobi Amusan angle is likely untrue. Tobi's best tournament so far has been the recent world championship. She didn't make the podium at most outings prior (save the diamond league) prior to that. She of course could have chosen to switch, but no way she was seriously lobbied to represent USA.

It's also true that none of the D'tigress players would have made team USA. It doesn't mean as a collective they can't achieve glory globally, but as individuals none is even close to being considered. There's none currently in the WNBA. The closest has been Victoria Macaulay who was giving a training contract by the Aces last year and Connecticut Suns this year and she was cut both times.

We currently have 3 elite players of Nigerian decent in the WNBA (Arike Ogunbowale, Michaela Onyewere and Queen Egbo) with Arike Ogunbowale being the most elite of them (the other 2 have less than 4 years in the league). Arike isn't even considering playing for Nigeria at the moment, she's still hoping to play for USA (she's been invited to several camps and may just make the team.

With regards to Tobi, are you telling me that the US didn't notice her exploit in the NCAA, commonwealth games and the African championship? Let's agree that the interest wasn't there, she could still have represented another country.. IAAF rule makes it easy for athletes to switch nationality, but she didn't...

As for the women basketball team, I agree with you.. But again, the WNBA is not that much of a big league.. the rooster spots are limited, so the players need the national team exposure too ..Unlike NBA players that mostly don't care.. At the last men world cup, team US fielded a squad of mostly second rated players..a squad that I believe the like of Spencer can easily make.. Look at Gabe Vincent...went all the way from being a 2 way player to a starter and one of the Heats most important player this season... He plays for Nigeria too..

E be like na for only your tv them take they show basketball 😂

No make me laugh you’re a clown

Nobody mentioned the female BBall team

Nobody mentioned athletics

Spencer dinwiddie is a role player at best he’s a supporting cast he was never a super star
He’ll never get a super max contract that super stars get

I’m telling you that no franchise star and key man in an NBA team will choose to pick Nigeria ahead of usa

As long as usa shows interest

You won talk to me about basketball no ever try am o

Yen yen yen .
Spencer is a role player? Somebody that was a starter with the Mavs and Nets but was affected by injuries.. Jerami Grant was at the Olympics with the US and won a gold medal, u think Spencer won't have been called up?

Folarin Balogun is still up and coming anyway, so all this gragra about who will accept which invitation isn't important...if he had picked Nigeria or England,he won't be a starter ..he can't displace anybody there...so he went for the easier option

Bro calm down these are second fiddle basketball players
The once’s that won’t make it to the usa 🇺🇸 starting lineup so no they deceive yourself

If usa came calling none of them would even look back at Nigeria self

He knows d truth but Dey love to deceive dem selves like say na dem Dey patriotic pass, meanwhile I wonder y he didn’t use his original moniker to quote me 😀😀

I don't think either of you follow basketball.. Who are the second fiddle basketball players? The Ogwumike sisters? Or Spencer Dwindde?

Let's goo to athletics..Tobi Amusan had every chance to represent the US especially as she went to college there, but she didn't.. you think the US didn't attempt to woo her or is she also a second fiddle?

No mind our ppu…Dey re just hiding under d plethora of strikers we have, hence his decision of picking USA 🇺🇸 over Nigeria 🇳🇬

But deep down in our minds, in all spheres of life ,everybody here including d person dt quoted u will always pick USA 🇺🇸 ahead of Nigeria 🇳🇬 for the obvious reasons 😀😀

Make we no Dey form unnecessary patriotism here

Nigeria isn't even really in the equation.. It was a choice between England and USA because he already represented England at youth level. So why did he now choose USA? Abi USA is better than England too?

By the way, our national basketball team is filled with US born and breed players who don't have a problem representing Nigeria. In fact, if not for COVID-19 and injuries, we would have had either of Monte Morris and Spencer Dwindde reprsent us at the last Olympic games..they willingly choose to.. The Ogwumike sisters willingly tried to change nationality from the US to Nigeria.. Plenty of Nigerian athletes born and breed in either Nigeria or US are in US colleges and representing Nigeria.. So don't say nobody will pick Nigeria over Us... Sometimes, it isn't about the money or the clout
