There is no secret to the political dominance of the Saraki family. the truth is that no one in Kwara State has worked harder, longer, and more consistently than Dr. Olusola Saraki in the field of politics. Naturally success attends effort and application. The lesson that a lot of people have refused to learn from Dr. Olusola Saraki is that of persistence. Few people had the courage or vision to pursue a political career in Kwara State the way he has. It is unrealistic for people to expect to have his level of influence without making the same level of sacrifice that he has. When he lost his first election in the 70s, he still persevered. When he was incarcerated by the Buhari-Idiagbon regime in the 80s how many people shared that experience with him. The emergence of Dr. Bukola Saraki as governor of Kwara state is not unusual. To give an example, even George Bush Sr. had two children as governors at one time in the US, and one of them George W Bush went on to become president.

If we are to be objective, Dr. Bukola Saraki is one of the better governors in Nigeria. It is no secret that many people did not want him to succeed and that it has been a big disappointment to such people that he has turned to be a such a capable and successful administrator. He has worked much harder than he has had to in his office as governor, and personally I do not see any reason why anyone should object to him blindly as long as he continues to work hard and lead capably.
