Romance / Re: Help! He Thought I Loved Him, But I Was Only Playing by nlfan: 9:00pm On May 11, 2016
the fact that you had a girl that was sleeping around does not mean you should start talking to women anyhow, dont ever talk to me in that tune again, i beg of you
Acidosis:
I know your type very well. I used to have one like that in my school days who call me all sort of names : "my sweetheart, my love", etc., meanwhile, he would be sleeping with random guys even in the same hostel.

I had to confront her one day, and told her frankly to stop the name callings. Girls always want it all. They want the tough & iron hand engagement with the bad guy, but love the emotional fantasy and romantic cover of the easy-going man whom they hardly love truly.

I blame that guy for allowing a flirt play with his head like CHESS. A f00l at 40 who cannot differentiate between friend zone and LOVE may never find REAL love till death.

If you don't love him, leave him. If we search deeply, your heart is definitely with another guy who probably does not give a HOOT about you.

Romance / Help! He Thought I Loved Him, But I Was Only Playing by nlfan: 8:21pm On May 11, 2016
Our company recently employed this guy, we worked in the same company before, then he was a manager and i was a junior staff.

I left the company years ago and joined another, so few months ago he got employed in my new office as a Director.

When he resumed, being that i knew him before, i started playing around with him, like when he was introduced to us, i was like oo, common, i hug him tightly and people were surprise at our closeness before i informed them that we have worked together before.

I am a jovial person, so each time i go around his office, i will call him boyfriend, my love, hope no girl is trespassing cos i will fight o and his subordinates will laugh and say you are not serious.

On the job, we get to work together at times cos i am a Manager now, we go for meetings etc, then some of his job includes doing some short production, even though i am not employed as a video producer, i told him i can do those for him personally, cos i recently learn those, he was surprise before but he decided to give me a try, i did it for him and he liked it, he became close and said i was helping him solve alot of problems.

Recently when he comes to my office, he will ask my PA where is my woman and that one will laugh knowing i started it but i just thought that was it though.

So last month when we went to the Palms Mall, to seek for permission to film their facilities in the short production work we had, we were together then he decided to do some shopping, i helped him carry the things he bought and just had fun, he took me to shoprite and ask me to shop, i just pick two things, drink and rice and he said is that all i said yes, he started showing me things, take this, take that i said i was okay, that it wasnt appropriate to come here and start shopping like its month end. So we left, in the car he said, you do have some very good attribute girl, i said like what, he said never mind and we drove off.

After that he started asking if we can have lunch but most time our lunch time dont sync, so i told him not to worry, then he asked for a dinner, i close late, im a workaholic, so most times i will agree but i will work till 9pm and he would have waited and get tired and left.

Finally i get to have a dinner date with him and he ask if we could do this more often, i said why not boyfriend jokingly, the next time we were having dinner, I said boyfriend let me greet that guy there, i really needed to meet him, he has a contact i need for work, he held me and said you call me boyfriend jokingly, i want you to mean it lol.

After i met with the guy, he started telling me how he loved me and how he will really love us to be in a relationship, he doesnt expect a yes and he knows its so wrong on all level because we work in the same place, but i can think about it and give him a response later that he will respect any decision i make.

I said thank you o, but since then, dude is so soft and nervous when he sees me, i can see the butterflies even when we are in a client meeting.

Even though he tries not to make it obvious at work, after work he is all over me

Last night we were together, i told him i am scared as he is almost 40 and not married, that i believe any guy who gets to that age, with enough money but has not married is a play boy lol. He couldn't say a word for like some minutes then he said, yes i am old enough to have been married and i had relationships, beautiful relationships with wonderful women, some didn't work because of my mistakes and because of things i neglected and some didn't work because it was not meant to work, but above all have learnt alot to be at least a better man and i am ready to make it work this time i promise, i have no doubt if you are the right girl because have known you for long and have never had a second thought about my woman, so forgive me for not making it work all these while, i want to make it right this time - MEHN THOSE WORDS RINGS IN MY HEAD LIKE KILODE, i loved the fact that he didnt put the blame on the ladies he's dated.

Now on my own side, I do not feel anything for him but i like him alot, i like that we should be hanging out, go out, do dinner and talk from morning tonight but i do not feel anything aside that. What do you guys advise.

Educational Services / Overseas Admission - We Provide Guidance From Admission To Graduation – AICL by nlfan: 6:55pm On May 05, 2016

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5LCTsMU5Oc&feature=youtu.be
You know how we do it. Every week is a startup week. This week, we are excited to showcase AICL Education on the Startup Show/ AICL is an educational consulting firm experienced with student counseling on education in UK, USA, Australia and Malaysia.

We all know that gaining Admission to higher institutions – both local and international – is one of the biggest challenges in Nigeria. We present to you Mrs Bola Agunbiade, a woman providing solutions to one of Nigeria’s toughest challenges.

Bola got bored at her media job and had a career switch when she got a job as a writer and counselor at an educational consulting agency, where she acquired experience in student counseling, admission placement, visa support and all round educational guidance for candidates looking to secure admission overseas.

After working for 7 years, Bola decided to start Avail International Consult Limited (AICL) Education.

Mrs. Agunbiade said that her agency has helped over 100 student gain admission in different higher institutions across the globe.

She gave insight into some factors that may hinder student admission overseas. She was also quick to point out that exam malpractices is one of the factors affecting her job, with cases where students with As, Bs and Cs could not defend the certificates they were holding.

Bola talked about the short period Forex was discontinued for education and also states that the ban has been lifted. She also listed ways and things to do to get forex for education from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

It was an interesting chat that we had. Tune in and enjoy the video below.

Business / Just Start It! We Started With N2000 - Cofounders, Wilson Lemonade Co. by nlfan: 7:28pm On Apr 28, 2016

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOXl_YQDnjg

This week, we had a long ride to Iju Ota in Ogun State, to feature the Wilson’s Lemonade Juice on the Startup Show.
Ever since we started the “Go There” episodes, it has never been this adventurous, first the long ride, the roads, the traffic, then the walk through the factory, this would be the first time I will enter a production factory and so it was like an excursion.
The first time I saw the Wilson’s Lemonade on the shelves at the Barcelos, I thought that it was a foreign drink and so I ordered it with my friend and we liked it, I looked through the bottle and found that it was a Nigerian drink, being a startup lover, I started digging for info about them immediately.
When I got to know it’s pure fruit juice, I thought it was just like the smoothies bar at the back of my office where I walked down to get fresh juice daily, but it was so different, it was a state-of-the-art modern fresh juice factory.
Walking through the factory, one will think it’s a multi-million naira business, but while sitting down for a few gist with Seyi and Seun Abolaji (Cofounders of Wilson’s Lemonade) I was made to understand that the whole thing started only with N2000, yes you heard right, two thousand naira only.
On the video, you will see how blank I looked, I could not understand, how do they keep doing these things, how can a factory of this magnitude be created out with 2000 naira investment, it still a misery.
We talked about their life as African-American kids, the return to Nigeria and their early beginnings.
Seyi and Seun said they were told at a very young age that everything in Nigeria were natural and fresh, but when they returned to Nigeria after their study they realized that most fruit juice in Nigeria was from concentrate, so they just wanted to make fresh juice for themselves but now they have built a premium juice brands, that would give every Nigerian an opportunity to drink healthy and to live a healthy life.
The Abolaji brothers disclosed that they have not spend any money on placement, on marketing or advertising but how did they get to where they are, with over 400 distribution outlet, partnership with Shoprite, Spa, Barcelos etc. It is all on this week episode of the Startup Show, tune in and be inspired.
Business / Unlike Other Taxi Apps, We Allow Passengers To Bid For Fares" by nlfan: 6:25pm On Apr 21, 2016
This week, the Startup Show, got up with one of the taxi app in Lagos, Afro.
Afro is a taxi app startup that connects passengers directly with taxi drivers allowing customers to book with certainty every time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5lAxDsVcvU

Now, this is the advantage our startup of the week brings that people don't know - unlike other people in the tech taxi business, AfroCab allows you to bid (i.e adjust pricing) for fare, decide what to pay for a particular trip and you still get the same cool and executive ride experience.

We discover all these when Afro General Manager agrees to sit down with us for a few gist and it was completely amazing.

Aniedi Udobong says that Afro is using technology to solve real life issues that could take a lot of time to achieve in few seconds. For example, if you want to get a taxi, the traditional way is to go out on the road, stop a few taxi then make an offer, you do this until you find one driver that will agree with your price and then hop in but with Afro, the process of doing all that has been simplified in few seconds and you do not even have to go out of your house.

Sitting in the beautiful Ikoyi office of Afro for about an hour, we saw drivers with different types of exotic cars, hopping in to get their vehicles verified to become drivers.

We interviewed one of the drivers and he told us that he was very comfortable with Afro and makes at least 5 to 6 trips a day.

This is one amazing and inspiring startup that is putting food on the table of many drivers.

Business / We Are Helping Busy Professionals To Eat Healthy by nlfan: 2:42pm On Apr 13, 2016
Sitting with Itoro Effiong-Bright, the founder of Ibomsoups both behind the scene and infront of the camera was completely amazing, apart from the sumptuous foods and drinks (all natural juices combo), we also got to learn alot about healthy eating, balanced diet, hygiene etc

Itoro whose passion to help people eat healthy grew at age 13 as she helped her mom sell wares in the market revealed to us that she watched with amazement and pity as busy professionals were either cheated with quality of goods or quantity as they rushed to the market to pick up vegetables and other food stuffs and the stress they pass through preparing these meals after a hectic day’s work.

Just like every aspiring young woman, she deviated to built a corporate career in the telecoms industry but not satisfied with her calling, she decided follow her passion by starting Ibomsoups, to help busy professionals eat healthy, hygienically without having to cook them in Lagos.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL2Qg2aVTrA

Walking through their kitchen, Ibomsoups have a state of the art cooking equipment in a very clean environment with happy looking staff working to make sure soups are properly made and delivered on time.

Currently they deliver within 30 minutes to 4 hours from the time that orders are placed.

Speaking on the show, Itoro discussed how she gathered courage to leave paid employment, the challenges she is facing with this business, future growth and more.

It was an inspiring chat that we had, tune in for more. http://www.africanstartup.tv/video/we-want-people-to-eat-well-effortlessly-in-a-busy-lagos-founder-ibomsoups/

Romance / Help! I Feel Like A 21st Century Witch by nlfan: 2:43pm On Mar 29, 2016
I am feeling more like a devil right now, cry cry

I have a friend who owns a Business Hub where Technology startups are enhanced and built in the southern state.

Occasionally, he partners with Google to organized tech and entrepreneurial events and i am always one of the resource person, we are good friends and we share alot.

When i traveled down for one of the training, he showed me his girl, whom he also call his fiance.

One day he called me to say one of the mentee in the hub was going to represent him in an event in Lagos and that he would like her to stay in my place, and i gladly accepted.

The lady came and she was completely amazing, i took her shopping and we had massive fun, i liked her already and she stayed a little longer after the program before she left.

She became my friend and sees me too as a mentor, i advised her in areas of my specialties and helped her market her startup, she started visiting Lagos randomly because she now had me, so one day when she visited, she told me she is really in love with her mentor in the Hub, who is also the man that introduced her to me, i told her the mentor already have a fiance and she confirmed that she knows but just in love with him, we talked over it and we had a good laugh.

So last year when i went for the training, i did not see the Hub manager fiance, i asked him and he told me she is fine, i said are you sure because she is always here in your programs, what happened, the guy laughed and went away.

When he left, this lady who usually visits me in Lagos then told me, that they have broken up, that the lady was not good for her because she knows nothing about his business, the hub or help in anyway and so he had to let her go. we talked over it and i said shebi you are in love with him, isn't this the best time for you to go in lol. initially i took this as a play but when i returned from the training early this year, the lady called me and said she knows i can influence him to fall in love with her, i told her since he is single that i will see if my pranks can work.

I started talking to the guy about one of his mentee, how i like her and how good she is, he also confirmed she was good bla bla bla bla, i started talking to him about dating the girl, used different tricks, initially the guy was neutral and did not want to have anything to do with someone in his hub, to avoid disrespect et all, but i told him the girl is more matured than that etc. and ofcourse i asked the girl to shower him with respect, work smart, well and make him see reasons to fall in love.

Few weeks after we put all of these together, he asked her out and they started dating, I was so happy for them.

But trouble started when the old fiance of the guy came to me on facebook to chat, reporting the guy to me, that she knows he respects me alot and so she wants me to talk to him, and i asked what is the issue, she told me she has a child for him, a child they are bringing up together and that the child is less than 6 months old, that he was a good father until recently (the exact time he started dating this girl in the office) he has changed, and that he is now dating a girl in his office and that the girl has been robing it on her face, that the girl had the mind to come to their child dedication and flaunt her relationship with her fiance even though she still wears his ring and he still insist there is nothing to worry about.

I asked her, did you guys ever broke up and she said never, infact it was his idea to keep the child, they never had any issue in the relationship, and the reason she never showed up for the program last year was because her baby was so little she couldnt leave her alone in the house, i think the baby was a month old then.

At that point my head bursted, how could i be a party to those who will inflict pains and agony on another woman.

I never knew she had a girl for him or that they are still dating, this lady used my head and made me confused an innocent man, even though i do not understand why the guy never told me he now has a child.

I asked this other lady if she knew the fiance had a child and she said yes, that she did not want to tell me and that she doesn't care if she has a child or not, that the fiance did it out of wickedness to have a child for him so to block others from competing with her, i almost went mad at hearing her talk that way, i asked her to leave the couple alone to bring up their child that i will never be part of it but she said she cannot.

What do you think i can do to correct this mess i have created.

Romance / I Stormed His Wedding & Made Him Cry After He Broke My Heart by nlfan: 11:40am On Feb 15, 2016
This Is How I Broke Him Down After He Broke My Heart

I met this young man when i was 21 and he was 24 we dated 4 years, we were both struggling, we stayed with each other and help each other to grow.

We grow to become successful and i became very influential in my field and he was so proud of that.

Last october we agreed to walk down the isle, we were planning where we are going to stay after the wedding, he stays somewhere in Lagos mainland while i stay in the island. He told me that he will be moving somewhere in Mowe in Ogun State where his father built a house about 2 years ago.

I told him that will not be a good idea, going from Mowe to Victoria Island everyday will be terrible for me since we can afford a house in Lagos at least for now or we stay where he is staying currently, he maintained he cant change, we could not reach an agreement on that, the next thing i got a shocker, he traveled for event outside Lagos to the east, where he comes from, only to get attracted to a girl he met there and came boldly to tell me, if i cannot marry him and stay at mowe, there are so many good girls who will rush the offer and in annoyance i told him, have you found one please marry her.

To my surprise few days after i saw a photo of him and that girl he just met, less than two months all over social media, he has engaged her.

Initially i was pained, but let's face it he doesn't deserve my tears, his groups of friends started calling my line to ask when we stopped dating since we still stepped out recently to his friend birthday.

I didnt know what to say i asked them to ask him, things went that way and i started hurting, after he did official intro to the girl i knew it was over, i called him and told him i wish him happiness and best of luck with his wife to be.

He felt bad but said he knew i was a good person that he is not shocked i called, i ask him to keep me updated on wedding plans and he did and i told him i will attend he said he will be grateful.

On the wedding day, during the reception i showed up, i had gone to get a very flattering dress, i even paid for make up, i looked so beautiful i couldn't believe myself too smiley grin grin

When i entered the room everybody went crazy, all his friends and associate knew me, some are even pained at what he did to me, i showed up all his friends rushed to greet me, it took over 30 minutes to cheek kiss all of them and hug a few, the few people who didn't know me was wondering who i was and why i am so beautiful grin grin grin

I went up to greet him, he almost fell down from where he was standing, i greeted his wife ( a village girl from akwa ibom lol - the way she pronounce the thanks for coming though smiley )

I started catching fun and dancing crazy, my ex couldn't stand it anymore, he ask his wife to go inside the car only him came to greet his guys where i was seated, THEN BROKE DOWN IN TEARS

HE CRIED SO LOUD LIKE PEOPLE WERE SCARED, People will think that i will disappear from there scene since he was crying, i was still seated shaking body to the tune of music, he then told one of his friend, i don't know but i think i messed up - the guy was like you messed up big time, are you just realizing, then live with it the rest of your life, his wife rushed out of the car i guess he heard his prince charming was crying, he came and the moment she opened her mouth to ask daring wot isssit, guys had funny faces about to explode. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

At that point he left and i continue hanging out with his friends before oping into my car to go home. He sent a touching sms yesterday.

Politics / Metuh Gave Me $2m To Invest For Him, Witness Tells Court by nlfan: 2:52pm On Jan 26, 2016
A prosecution witness in the trial of the Spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, over alleged money laundering has revealed how the politician transferred $2million through his company, Dextra Investments Limited.
The prosecution witness, said she received $2million from Metuh on the 2nd of December 2014 and employed the services of a Bureau De Change (BDC) in the conversion of the dollars into Nigerian currency and transferred the money to the account of Dextra Investments Limited which she claimed belongs to Metuh.
Justice Okon Abang overruled a request by Metuh’s lead counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), for adjournment of the trial. Ikpeazu informed the judge that since Metuh had been unable to meet the bail conditions granted him on January 16, the defence had filed an application for variation of the terms. He urged the court to adjourn the proceedings, claiming that the inability of his client to meet the bail conditions had adverse effects on his preparation for the defence.
Prosecution Counsel, Sylvanus Tahir, opposed the application for adjournment and his objection was upheld by the judge. The counsel then proceeded to open the prosecution’s case with the testimony of Ararume, who narrated how she collected the $2m cash from Metuh at his home office.
She said: “He gave me $2m in $100 bills. It was taken to Bureau de Change operators From his house (Metuh) I proceeded to Mr. Sie Iyenome’s office at Wuse 2 where I gave him the sum of $1m.
“I also invited one Mr. Kabiru Mohammed and gave him $1m to transfer the Naira equivalent in favour of Destra Investment Limited. Later, on the same day, December 2, 2014, Kabiru and Iyenome confirmed the receipt.”
The second prosecution witness, Iyename, a BDC operator, said he had $1 million exchanged to N183 million and transferred it to the account of Dextra Investments Limited but said he had no knowledge of either Metuh or his company before the time of the transaction.
He said $500,000 dollars was exchanged to N46 million and N45 million totalling N91 million through a BDC in Lagos, while one Etionye changed the other $500,000 to N92 million, bringing the total to N183 million which he said was paid into the beneficiary’s account (Metuh).
After the defence had cross-examined the witnesses, the prosecution counsel asked Iyenome if he was aware that there were certain thresholds or financial limits for transactions that he should be aware of as a BDC operator. He said he was aware and explained that the sales threshold of Foreign Exchange to an individual is $4,000 while it is $5,000 for businesses.
The prosecuting counsel said he had 16 more witnesses to present before the court.
The trial was adjourned till Tuesday, January 26, 2016 (today).
