Career / Globacom Staffs Laid Off Without Entitlement/benefits. by nneca: 5:24pm On Nov 21, 2016 |
Nigeria's telecoms giant - Globacom Ltd , in its yearly evaluation process sometime in May 2016 , laid off 65 members of its staff, mostly from the sales department. The lay-off took effect from September 1, 2016. Since then, no word has been heard on the payment of their entitlement/severance benefits. Most of the staffs that were relieved of their jobs have put in over 7 years working for Glo with some exceeding 10 years. There is an outcry for Globacom to as a matter of urgency to pay the affected staffs their entitlement/benefits to enable them move on with their lives after having worked meritoriously for the company. We understand that the affected staffs have been cleared by the HR dept , and they are waiting for the Chairman of Globacom Mike Adenuga to sign off and their approve payment which has lingered for 3 months. Labour unions and civil rights activists are hereby appealed to come to the aid of these affected workers. |

Politics / Re: 100 Reasons Why The Pdp Should Be Voted Out Of Abia State. by nneca: 9:05pm On Apr 21, 2015 |
21. Recently, in response to the plea of our suffering, abandoned and neglected teachers in Abia State, Federal government made available fund strictly for the payment of overdue teachers’ allowances. It is regrettable that PDP as usual diverted the money and purchased more private properties. 22. PDP’s sadism and contempt to teachers’ opinion reached its peak by its refusal to implement packages for teachers. This act constitutes a declaration of war on innocent and defenseless teachers. Teachers in Abia State, who have now firmly resolved to score a decisive victory against PDP at the ballot box on April 11, 2015.. 23. PDP plans to close majority of community schools if it continues in office because it cannot afford to pay teachers and implement the Teachers’ Salary Scale. Industry 24. PDPs industrial policy is a total disaster. It has abandoned all the industries it inherited from previous administrations. 25. PDP administration has refused to accept several proposals it received for the revamping of the Golden Guinea Plc, Umuahia rather decided to do a crony work only to deceive Abians and it planning to sell it outright. 26. It was the PDP administration that sold the Nigerian Modern Ceramics Ltd.Umuahia to the Roman Catholic Church, which was facilitated while Chief T.A. Orji was the Chief of Staff. 27. PDP proudly abandoned the Ogwe Golden Chicken because of its facelessness on industries. PDP in Abia State has no vision for industry which has led to the total neglect of Aba Textile Mills Plc. Aba 28. PDP has not cared to talk about the Glass Industry at Aba. 29 PDP led administration in Abia State has on several instances spent millions of Naira in funding oversea trips for the establishment of ghost industries. The purported establishment of refinery in Ukwa East LGA is one of the many examples. Though some foreign investors were actually interested in the Refinery deal. PDP and its hirelings frustrated them, despite the huge sum of money spent on foreign trips led by Prof. J.C.Ogbonna with one Chief Onyioha. 30. Several millions of Naira has gone down the drain in inviting foreigners for the establishment of cement factory in Arochukwu LGA, which only has a sign board to show for it, just to deceive the masses. |

11. It is only in Abia State that pupils still study under trees. 12. Despite Government’s promise and agreement with teachers, statutory allocations, grants from Federal Government and enormous revenue from school fees; teachers in Abia State are being owed several months of salaries and allowances. 13. Students of tertiary institutions in Abia State are the most neglected in Nigeria, yet PDP led administration in Abia State claims bogus investments in education. 14. In other States in Nigeria, Schools are built or rehabilitated by the State Government, here in Abia State; School grants are being used to buy houses while school fees have been doubled. 15. PDP led administration has dangerously politicized Education in Abia State through the appointment of political associates in strategic Educational establishments ,eg College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu and Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, where Dr. Enemuo and Elder Onukaogu respectively were campaigning for PDP using students, until recently, they were sacked for failing to continue in same manner. 16. PDP has constantly harassed, victimized and intimidated innocent teachers who are suspected to hold contrary views from the bad governance in Abia State. 17. The three institutions of higher learning which PDP inherited in Abia State –Abia State University, Uturu, Abia State Polytechnic, Aba and College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu, are starved of funds, completely neglected. The situation is so bad that parents are forced to pay exorbitantly to maintain their wards there, except the booboo reduction of Tuition fees for ABSU students, which was not applauded as the students know that it was only done in BCA. 18. Funds meant for the accreditation and running of these institutions have been diverted by the PDP led administration in Abia State and used to purchase houses and landed property. 19. Appointments of institutional heads in Abia State are highly politicized to the detriment of academic pursuit. Some heads are mere stooges and serve as extension of Government house. 20. Millions of Naira budgeted for Educational purposes in Abia State have been squandered by PDP members in their desperate efforts to salvage their bad image and lack of effort in Abia State. |
Politics / 100 Reasons Why The Pdp Should Be Voted Out Of Abia State. by nneca: 9:02pm On Apr 21, 2015 |
Dear All, We are approaching the last lap of the campaign and we are indeed grateful to you for all the support, prayers and your votes. April 25th is almost here. We would need to put all hands on deck as we go on a honest and aggressive media drive. Please share, re-tweet, copy and paste, text to your friends and families, these 100 reasons why the PDP should be voted out of Abia State. We would put these in batches. Let it go viral. Thank you. 1. The entire agricultural infrastructure, programmes, establishments and schemes, which the Peoples Democratic Party inherited from all previous administrations, have been abandoned and left in ruins. 2. Peoples Democratic Party’s Agricultural policy is a colossal failure. For predominantly agricultural society, agriculture should be one of the priorities of Abia State Government. 3. PDP could not even buy nursed palm for ‘school children’ as the immediate past administration did. 4 Rice Projects, Rubber Estates, Rice mills and palm plantations have become extinct due to neglect by PDP led government in Abia State. 5. Agricultural Development Programme in Abia State is politicized as the head is a stooge from Government house. 6. The FADAMA project in Abia State is not receiving any attention from PDP led government rather it uses it as a means of extorting money from poor Abia farmers. 7. Throughout Abia State, farmers are in tears as local government councils are not guaranteeing agricultural loans as ordered by the Federal government. 8. Farmers pass through difficulties in order to obtain farm implements and inputs. But nothing ever comes their way. Farmers have vowed to VOTE OUT PDP from Abia State. Education 9. PDP has destroyed our education system. Parents have been forced to take their children to private schools. 10. Most school building infrastructure in Abia State have collapsed. |

The election became inconclusive because the cancelled results had over 100,000 votes so there may be a rerun in those LGA's only or a supplementary. Pdp thugs all over the place all have various results. These results you people are sharing, there's God ooh. Lol |

The result op posted is not Abia State's result. Pdp people compiled it and distributed it among themselves. Look at that sheet, its just a plain A4 paper. No INEC logo or details. Nothing to signify that its an official result from Inec. besides, Inec do not give out copies of election results. its inec's property. Most importantly, Inec is yet to announce results regarding the 3 lga's and whom the winner is. Apart from the 3 lga'a where they have electoral problem's APGA is leading. It's now left for Inec to decide on what to do with those areas. 2 Likes |

THE SITUATION SO FAR... The declaration of results of Saturday’s governorship election in Abia stalemated midway Sunday following the reversal of the cancellation of three local governments results by the Returning Officer, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba. Mr. Ozumba had announced the cancellation of results from Osisioma, Obingwa and Isialangwa North Local Government Areas on the grounds of “incontrovertible evidence of violence’’ and reports from international observers. The returning office reversed the decision after Governor Theodore Orji led chieftains of PDP to consult with the Resident Electoral Officer (REC), Prof. Selina Oko and Mr. Ozumba. Mr. Ozumba said the cancellation was reversed due to fresh information concerning the conduct of the election in the three council areas. He said polling centres with issues would be isolated and decisions taken on them later. The polling agent of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ahamdi Nweke, had questioned the rationale behind the decision by the returning officer to reverse his earlier pronouncement. Mr. Nweke insisted that elections did not take place in Osisioma, adding that the party would not accept any result from the area. He tendered a hand-written note reportedly signed by the Commissioner of Police, Habila Joshak, indicating that electoral materials recovered from the bush in Osisioma were in police custody. Mr. Joshak, who was present at the centre, did not controvert Mr. Nweke’s assertion. Proceedings were later disrupted after an international observer, Ms Shirle Wilson, from Noble Leadership Initiative, United Kingdom, testified at the centre that “election did not take place in Osisioma’’. Mr. Wilson said election in the area was marred by violence and snatching of ballot boxes and other electoral materials by hoodlums. The pronouncement heightened tension at the centre, leading to the adjournment of further announcement of results. The controversial result from Osisioma, which had earlier been announced, showed that PDP scored 42,442, while APGA polled 1017. Meanwhile, results from 10 local government areas have so far been announced. In his reaction, APGA governorship candidate, Alex Otti described the governor’s appearance at the collation centre as “an abuse of power, designed to intimidate and exert undue influence on the electoral officials’’. The governor was accompanied by the Minister of State for Defence, Rtd. Col. Austin Akobundu, PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, and Onyema Ugochukwu, among others. OdenigboAroli: It's true. I heard it on channels. The correspondent said after T.A came and left, the cancelled results were later added which made pdp to be leading but right now, everything have been put on hold. They are fighting each other and security officials cannot even stop them. Apga agents rejected The results and disrupted the announcement because they would have gone ahead to declare ikpeazu winner and then ask Alex Otto to go to court. God will see us through. I'm not giving up on Abia yet. 1 Like |

[quote author=Raiders post=32612907]Otti is a bad loser. He should learn from GEJ and accept defeat. Abia is a strong PDP state and there is no way APGA can win because they don't have a strong party structure in SE [/ what are you even saying? actually T.A should learn from GEJ not otherwise. so you mean PDP wasn't strong at the national level yet he lost? unfortunately, change has come and it will not pass Abia State by.
