No one looks stupid… we are not surprised…. APC and their supporters are more stupid… they end up making decisions and policies without thinking and end up changing the policies or make an amend like the way they did to bank cybersecurity charge and others… no clear vision

Oshiomhole is relevant to his own people in Edo north and party. That is all, not entire Edo state. Same Oshomhole that was bullied by Market women when he was out to campaign for his governorship candidate in the last election? Abi na another Oshomhole. Lol
ppogba:

Oshiomole that got elected as a senator is irrelevant?

Oshiomole that is the de facto leader of APC in Edo irrelevant?

Oshiomole that is welcoming decampees into APC irrelevant?

It will not be a bad idea if you go back to bed.
Politics / Re: Edo Government Demolishes Security Post At Shaibu's House by Nosa111(m): 12:10pm On Apr 15
He is only relevant to his party, not to the people of Edo state as much as you think. Been a senator by a former governor na normal thing for naija. He did well for his people as a governor to earn the senatorship and it ends there oga.
Omenlon:
are you on drugs or you don't know the meaning of "irrelevant"? If a person who contested election and won as a senator is tagged irrelevant by you, your educational qualifications need scrutiny or you are high on something.
Politics / Re: Edo Government Demolishes Security Post At Shaibu's House by Nosa111(m): 12:05pm On Apr 15
He was a good governor… he did well for the Edos, but he tried to become Tinubu of Edo state. Oshmhiole becoming a senator is as a result of the goodwill he perform especially for Edo north and it ends there. If he was so relevant, he would have be able to install his own candidate as APC governorship candidate in Edo state… he wanted to play the Tinubu role in Edo state by installing his own stooges the way Tinubu do am for Yoruba land. But he failed, he is not that so relevant. LOL
Max24:

A former governor that is now a serving senator is not irrelevant. Or if he is relevant nko, what will he be? What else is left for Oshiomole to have in Edo? Do you expect him to be called president of Edo to prove that he is still relevant ? Please, correct yourself.
Politics / Re: Edo Government Demolishes Security Post At Shaibu's House by Nosa111(m): 7:47am On Apr 15
Good for him
I don’t like Obaseki, but to be honest, people stop stop trying by all means to remain in power after service… if Obaseki tries to do the same after leaving office, The Edos will make him irrelevant too like what we did to Oshiomhole… I trust my people.

Politics / Re: List Of Projects Tinubu Will Commission In May To Mark 1 Year In Office by Nosa111(m): 9:34am On Apr 04
All thanks to Wike! APC as a party doesn’t have the capacity to think and execute a project… they only come to kill, steal and destroy.
Hart11:
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu will commission some of the projects he started in May to mark his one-year in office.

The Minister stated this during a media chat on Tuesday, April 2.

How I Plan on Spending FCT’s N1.28 Trillion Statutory Budget – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has explained how he plans on spending the FCT’s N1.28 trillion 2024 statutory budget.

Wike stated that 70 per cent of the budget has been allocated to capital expenditure, with 58 per cent of that capital component earmarked for the completion of ongoing projects, while 42 per cent is for new projects.

According to the Minister, projects to be given priority include the rehabilitation of 21 schools in deplorable conditions across the six area councils as well as the general hospitals in Utako, Gwagwalada, and Gwarimpa to ensure that they are up to the required standard

Politics / Re: EFCC Raises Task Force Against Dollarization Of Economy by Nosa111(m): 10:05am On Feb 13
In a situation trying to find ground for the naira, the custom pegged the dollar from 890/$ to $/1350. Now it’s 1520/$ today. That is almost 70% increase win just 2 weeks. Probably you don’t know what that means.
emkz:

You still do not get it? Have you heard of the so-called 80-20 rule? 80% of your income come from 20% of your customers. In Nigeria's case, 99% of the waste including dollarization is accounted for by <1% of the population.

These are our targets. These are the people we must stop so that we can cater for the >99% of the population.

In actuality, you answered your own question by hitting the nail on the head. It is time we clip the elites, and if we all stand up to them, they'd be afraid.

This is why I support Yemi Cardoso's reforms.
Politics / Re: EFCC Raises Task Force Against Dollarization Of Economy by Nosa111(m): 9:50am On Feb 13
I am telling you fact… Holding dollar is not the major reason Naira is going down, maybe a little reason. People have been holding dollar since we were born… the only way to counter the dollar is to improve the economy, fight corruption and improve export and productivity. Every other policies is just trying to do magic.

Politics / Re: EFCC Raises Task Force Against Dollarization Of Economy by Nosa111(m): 2:26pm On Feb 09
You are writing as if dollarization of the economy is a thing of majority. Abi na poor woman for market dey use dollar? The politicians and elite like Dangote stealing and taking advantage of the economy are the ones using dollar. The federal government will still make use of the dollar for oil trading, small scale businesses will do importation, are they going to import with dollar?? Using dollar is not the issue, creating a favorable economy and eliminating corruption is the real issue… You all focus on only dollar but the same thing is happening with other foreign currencies like Naira-euro, naira-pounds even with other local currencies like Ghana cedes… are you going to say because people are using euro, pounds and Ghana cedes too?? People have been making use of dollar, stop the trash talk.

Your senate spent more than 6Billion in buying a foreign Toyota cars for its members while we have a vehicle manufacturing company in Nigeria. Be realistic, buying dollar is not the reason why dollar is at that rate… corruption and poor economy is the reason.
emkz:

The argument I am making, which some people (not you) still do not understand and bandy insults like little children when they have no reasonable counter-argument, is that we should stop using dollars in the Nigerian economy as it is not a legal tender within Nigeria. The same people who destroyed the naira are the ones switching to dollars and those are the people we must stop. Remove easy access to dollars from them let us see what they'd do.

The controls I proposed are a measure to phase out dollars from the hands of these people. Who exactly handles the dollars? Is it not politicians and government officials? The poor man on the street has probably never seen dollar bills in his life. Someone argued that as soon as the governors receive allocations, they convert a substantial sum to dollars which drives up the exchange rate. How does government sell dollars for people to hold in their hands? Please how does this make sense? If you want to buy forex in an airport, you must present a boarding pass and they'd issue you a receipt because the funds they give you must be traceable. They also have a limit of how much they can sell to you. If you bring a large sum, they wouldn't dare do it and are compelled to alert the police. But in Nigeria, people buy dollars, euros and pounds as if they are buying common commodities like toilet paper.

It must stop!

A lot of things are just wrong. The dollar is not a legal tender in Nigeria. Those who destroyed the naira should use it like the rest of us. They must not touch our dollar reserves which should be for more important things like import of machinery to run factories for example.

To increase dollar liquidity for government, I outlined various strategies in an earlier post. Why does the government tolerate illegal mining for example? Two days ago, they seized 12 trucks loaded with lithium and arrested 41 persons who claimed foreigners and some wealthy Nigerians are involved in the practice. Then the NNPC has mortgaged future earnings from crude oil for senseless debts which Buhari took.

Who runs a country like that?

We must plug the leakages, widen the areas to earn forex, export more commodities, tackle insecurity and kill the incentive for dollarization. If a politician is sent to jail for having too much unexplained dollars, the rest will sit up. In the UK, a former governor of Bayelsa State was arrested because a huge sum of money was found on him. He forfeited the money and still lost his properties. A former commissioner of arts and culture in Edo State was also arrested for allegedly laundering money through Italy. He was jailed.

If we want a sane country, the government must take total control of the forex in the hands of people.

Politics / Re: EFCC Raises Task Force Against Dollarization Of Economy by Nosa111(m): 12:00pm On Feb 08
And you think that is a way to boost the naira?? Even the dollar is falling that is why we still have naira dangling at N1500/$… the only way to save the naira is export, investment, tackle corruption(biggest problem), boost tourism and stop printing money… Custom pegged the dollar from 900naira to 1250naira. That is 40% increase and you say you want naira to go down. Lol
emkz:

It is actually a crime. It is not a legal tender WITHIN Nigeria. You are not expected to use it to do any business transaction in Nigeria or charge anything and expect to be paid in dollars. The only places where you can use dollars are airports and hotels. Many hotels show their fees in dollars, euros, pounds and whatever, but you are compelled to pay in the local currency.

In a country like South Africa, if you bring dollar to pay for anything outside the airport, no one would collect it from you. You must convert it to the local rand. In Germany, if you bring out the dollar to transact anything, be sure the police will be looking for you because they'd assume you are a drug dealer.
Politics / Re: EFCC Raises Task Force Against Dollarization Of Economy by Nosa111(m): 7:40am On Feb 08
So owning dollar is now a crime ? Dollar is an international currency. Advanced countries in europes and Asia still used dollar along with their currencies. The Nigeria government will still need the dollar for oil trade and export.

The issue is not the dollar, other currencies like pounds and euro beats our currency more than even the dollar.

Tell your rubbish government to do better with the economy. They should stop spending billions buying a Toyota security highlander when they can use their home made Innoson motors….
emkz:
What MUST be done:

1 Outright ban of the use of dollars within Nigeria.

2 Give holders of dollars a month to put it in the banking system after which it will be seized if found on the holders.

3 People like Herbert Wigwe charging tuition fees in their universities in dollars need to be compelled to pay their workers in dollars and also pay electricity bills, diesel bills, and other expenses in dollars.

4 All BDCs must be heavily regulated and if dollars is sold to anyone, the reason must be compelling and must be traceable.

5 Arrest politicians found with dollars.

6 We can't afford to have accounts opened in foreign currencies within Nigeria. Our economy can't support it.

7 Some of the things we import are not needed. Therefore impose heavy taxes on luxury cars, foreign wines, clothing, and food. Visit shops and hike the tax on foreign commodities like cashew, apples, and shoes. Nigeria is a big market. The least Toyota and Honda owes us is to run assembly plants within Nigeria.

8 NNPC must be stopped from selling crude oil to local refiners in dollars.

9 No company, including foreign ones, must be allowed to pay any worker in foreign currency. The idea of working in Nigeria is that you spend your earnings in Nigeria. If you want to remit funds abroad, use proper banking channels to do your transfer and pay the appropriate fees.

10 We found out that some embassies in Nigeria collect visa fees in foreign currencies in cash in Nigeria. We call on the foreign affairs minister to call those ambassadors to stop the practice. Some of these embassies use the desperation of our people to prey on them and commit crimes that cannot be tolerated elsewhere. Any embassy operating in Nigeria that cannot respect and idolize our naira should close and go elsewhere where such crimes of collecting a non-legal tender within a country they operate in is allowed. If they collect naira, they can use our banks to remit the funds or use online transfers so they can get the forex equivalent of the naira charges in their accounts in their countries. I call on Nigerians to be bold enough to report some of these embassies for the sharp practices.

11 Some of the embassies in Nigeria are desperately corrupt. Especially of some countries in the EU.

Exactly what Buhari did. Putting round peg in a square hole. Nigeria right now doesn’t need politicians as ministers. We need professionalisms and expertises. People like Ngozi okonje iweala, akinwumi Adesina, Dora akunyili, are few Nigerians who are not rooted into politics but they did well and they are still doing well globally today.

Na only Buhari government appoint a lawyer and a crook politician as minister for power and housing and they expect things to change. Nigeria and Favoritism.

Point of correction, he was rejected because he had a very sharp hands on Twitter, antagonizing the Buhari and party he belong to, that is what a good leader should do. He was doing well before politics, if he was desperate he would have joined another party and still contest. Learn to say the truth at all time even tho is your party or not.
