Emergency Security Concern: Villagers Attack, Rob UDUS Students on campus

Students of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, are being attacked on a daily basis by villagers living around the campus.

According to reports, the bandits attack their victims in the school community including, hostels situated inside the school, with short knives known as dagger to rob them off their belongings ranging from gadget like phones and laptops to foodstuffs. The implications of not getting anything from one is maiming.

Over the last few weeks, about 12 students have been reportedly injured having severe injuries.

Students said the believe of the locals is that students are all from rich home which is the reason they can afford all they have, and that that is a misconception.

However, the students may result to reprisal if nothing is done about the dirty situation.

Bearing in mind the insecurity all over the country, it would be a wise option for the school administration to address the students and the situation at a go to avoid another clash that will be too expensive to explain. We understand that the administration is avoiding heating the polity, hence, the Vice Chancellor or any principal officer of the institution has not said a word about the insanity but it would be good to do the needful.

BREAKING: Joshua Vs Ruiz World Heavyweight Rematch to be Staged in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia will stage the world heavyweight title rematch between Britain’s Anthony Joshua and champion Andy Ruiz Jr, promoters announced on Friday.

The assault of Nigeria’s former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu in Germany is unsurprising, but shocking. Unsurprising because it is certain Nigerians would revolt against their leaders misrule someday. It is shocking because many never envisaged such could happen now, and in this manner. The popular support, but low turnout at Omoyele Sowores Revolution Now protest, and the fading outcry for his release is a pointer that Nigerians want a revolution, but are reluctant to revolt.

Aside shocking the reluctant populace, Ekweremadu’s assault also stunned the revolution vanguards. Most never imagined any tribe could, at this moment in time, revolt against the same leaders they have been programed to exalt and defend irrationally. Is revolution taking a new, unexpected dimension? Departing the long occupied arena of inter-ethnic confrontations for home?

Woman collapses, after being sentenced to death for killing her neighbour in Ajegunle, Lagos.

An Ikeja high court on Tuesday sentenced a 36-year-old woman, Stella Gilbert, to death for stabbing her neighbour, Mrs Stella Godwin, to death during a fight at their residence in Ajegunle, Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the fight was over a bench in the premises of their single room apartments also known as ‘face’me-I-face you’.

The fight was caused by an argument over who should be using the bench which belongs to their former neighbour.

Justice Raliatu Adebiyi sentenced Gilbert after dismissing her claim of self defence.

The judge held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

Teacher Arrested for Taking Pupils’ Blood, Nails, for Ritual

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two teachers identified as Blessing Omowera and Sola Kalejaye for allegedly using human parts for ritual purpose.

According to the police, the duo allegedly collected the fingernails and blood of the pupils of Heritage Model Nursery and Primary School, Ondo town, Ondo State.

This video shows a meeting between a young man and the men of the Nigeria Police Force on a highway carrying out a heinous transaction.

The yet to be identified police team stopped the man for an unknown reason for exploitation. He was asked to give them something (bribe) as usual before he is allowed to leave.

More People Are Killed in Nigeria This Year Than Any Country at War, Stats Reveals

The official statistics presented by the Police today in the National Assembly, Abuja, revealed that more people have been killed in Nigeria in 2019 than any war torn country in the world.

The statistics also indicate that about 700 people have been kidnapped nationwide while 1,071 souls have been forcefully taken between January to April, 2019.
