Music/Radio / Re: Which Nigeria Musician Can Win Grammy Award? by ochibs1010(m): 8:15am On Mar 08, 2012
WHATS THE FUSS ABOUT GRAMMY AWARD, IT WAS FORMED IN AMERICAN AND PRIMARILY FOR AMERICANS, OUR TRADITIONAL AND SOCI0-CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT INFLUENCES OUR SOCIAL BEHAVIOR VIS A VIS OUR KIND OF MUSIC SO YOU DON'T EXPECT THE GRAMMY COMMITTEE TO APPRECIATE OUR MUSIC TALK LESS OF EVEN NOMINATING IT FOR AN AWARD.

SO IF I ORGANIZE A GRAMMY AWARD TODAY IN NIGERIA I WILL CONSIDER THE LIKES OF FEMI KUTI, SUNNY NNEJI, 2FACE, MOHIT CREW, CHOC BOIS, TIWA SAVAGE, CHIDINMA, IYANYA AND A HOST OF OTHERS COS THERE MUSIC APPEAL TO ME.

I WONT EVEN CONSIDER THE LIKES OF JAY-Z, BEYONCE COS THERE MUSIC MAKES NO SENSE TO ME.

9JA IS UNIQUE, OUR MUSIC IS UNIQUE, I FUCKING HATE IT WHEN MUSICIANS COME ON AIR AND SAY THERE DREAM IS TO GET A GRAMMY,
Crime / Re: Opc Member Kills Etisalat Employee Chuwuma Eze Over N10 Toll In Ejigbo by ochibs1010(m): 10:21am On Feb 29, 2012
its unfortunate the FG allowed sectional groups (OPC, MEND, MASSOB) to emerge in the name of struggle for a just cause for their people, but at a microscopic view they are the major proponents of death in Nigeria today.

OPC is busy collecting tolls on innocent and hard working citizens and have even taken it to the extent of killing people who are standing for their rights, yet the police and Lagos state government is silent about it.
MASSOB's Uwaziruike is busy fighting a bloody and legal battle with Ojukwus son to become the leader of the ibo people not minding to spill the blood of the people he wants to be there leader.
MEND has showed us that what they are actually interested is to work for there brother the president and insult/challenge whoever attempts to criticize the policies/actions of the president NOT minding if such policies even favors the common man in south south.
Boko Haram, the confused Islamic elements claiming to fight a jihad with conflicting interest in politics.

until the FG label this groups as terrorist, we will continue to see innocent Nigerians dying on the street.

kj_hova:

Obviously Nigerian youths know very little about their country. The OP's write up is a muddle of errors deliberately sensationalized to create a hightened sense of injustice. Alhaji Indimi is Kanuri from Maiduguri & not a Hausa-Fulani as purpoted by the OP. The OP's knowledge of geography and Nigeria's geo-politics appeared, at best, shallow. He kept mentioning Kano & Niger states as part of the North-East. He apparently couldn't decide if to take on the North-East or the entire Northern establishment. In spite of all the identified errors, the story is basically true in terms of existences of the various companies named as well as the ownership & line of business. But the OP still stand accused of deliberate ommission of individuals & companies of Yoruba & other origins who are equally if not more guilty of the theft in our backyard. Why mention Conoil yet fail to mention Mike Adenuga? I think the bottom line is that a thieving cabal has hijacked Nigeria for decades & this cabal cuts across every nook & cranny of the country. Any attempt by @Beaf & fellow mischief makers like him to paint a regional color to this madness is silly and baseless. Such accusations can only help to keep Nigerian youth separated in an elite inflamed "divide & rule". Wake up Naija! The Hausa man is not your problem. He's a victim like you. He's probably more of a victim than you. Focus your strenght on our worst enemy, the ruling elite!!!!

thank you.
when we all know that 64% of the oil wells which constitute about 88 oils wells are viable with commercial quantities, yet you point accusing fingers at less than 20 oil wells controlled by some few northern elites.

who is fooling who??
Politics / Re: Explosive! Deprivation & Derivation Principles: Why The North Is Poor (i) by ochibs1010(m): 8:50am On Feb 28, 2012
Nigeria has a total of 159 oil fields and 1481 wells
can the originator of these article give us a breakdown of who and who is controlling what oil well

you cant just list a few northerners with less than 20 wells and assume they are ripping the country.

despite the fact that i dont support what they are doing, i will prefer you list all and lets apportion the blame appropriately.
Education / Re: Crisis Looms At EKSU As Students Decry Hike In School Fees by ochibs1010(m): 8:17am On Feb 22, 2012
i wonder the rationale for the hike in fees

Benue State University have more infrastructure than Ekiti State University
all courses are accredited in BSU except Medicine which is at its 3rd stage of accreditation
returning students pay below 30k while new students pay below 50K

the same thing goes for Nassarawa State University, Kogi State University, Kano State University

at least i have visited EKSU, OOU the Uncoordinated LASU campuses around and i wonder whats happening
cos in-terms of infrastructure you cant compare them with the state universities in the north.
90% of the courses offered in the state universities in the north are accredited with at-least 4 Phd holders in every department.

this is why we see alot of south westerners seeking admission in the northern state universities
i hope the governor who had free education courtesy of Awolowo back in the days are denying the present generation what should originally be free.

Kano and Adamawa states are even giving its indigenes free education in there state universities.

And for goodness sake what makes him the most matured leader Nigeria has ever had?

you are so quick to forget the doctrine of necessity that made GEJ who he is today.
the relative peace and maturity the house have fared even where the great Chuka Okadigbo could not bring stability to.

Check your fact right bros, No Federal Govenment will cancel or suspend toll on Lekki -Epe Expressway.  What LCC is doing because of the traffic is that they are allowing motorist drive through the toll plaza freely for a while to ease up traffic build up caused by those who deliberately drove towards the Toll Plaza & refused to pay toll as expected. I guess some are also just adjusting to the first few days of the tolling. They are still collecting tolls now,

I commend this innitiative, it shows they are not out to cause untold hardship for lagosian. if they are out for the money irrespective of what happens they wont open the road at interval for free flow of traffic

Hmmmm, now you are trying to change the post in your story, why?  sad When you posted the pix and claimed that you were in the hold-up for 3 hours, and posted it at 8:48, I asked if you normally/usually leave your house by 5:30am to resume work and you emphatically answered YES.

Now that the implicationof that answer has dawned on you, you star trying to confuse the situation. Since you have gotten the gist, let me now lay it out to you.
Scenario 1: You normally leave home by 5:30am to beat the traffic and today you left home by the same 5:30am and still got to office at the same time.
Scenario 2: You normally leave home by 5:30am to resume by 7:00 but due to traffic you got to work late by 8:30am
Scenario 3: You normally leave home by 7:00am due to free roads but due to the traffic today, you got to the office late.

So which one is it?

you dont deserve a response from me, I REST MY CASE.

So you normally leave your house at 5:30am in the morning prior to when the toll began, and what time do you resume work? 6:00am, 6:30am, 7:00am. 7:30am or 8:00am?
I ask as I need to know your normal work resumption time.

i wonder what you intend to get/do with my resumption time as this is not the subject of discussion, however i was in the hold up yesterday and i thought it wise to get up very early and beat the hold-up today, its past 11am and the hold up is mad out there(that is the subject of concern), for your information, i am just on work visit and wont even spend the next 1 year here in Lagos, i ONLY feel for the people and pity people like you that are fed crumbs to hide the truth, YOUR PEOPLE WILL LEAVE WITH THIS FOR THE NEXT 30YRS.

In the UK, you have to pay for a parking slot in your workplace.

If they can guarantee judicious use of the money, and the road is well looked after, you gotta pay, guys. That's the way it is. You have to embrace development.
What joy do you derive from driving a 25 million naira car on a road that is riddled with pot holes?

What joy does a Naija rich man derive in flying first class only to get to Lagos and drive the whole stretch of road called the 3rd Mainland Bridge without street lights? Which is more dangerous? Class of flight or a dangerous road? It seems crazy and stooopid.

I am sorry.

your idea of this whole issue is wrong, the lekki residents constitutes just about 3% of the people in that area and every lekki phase 1 person you saw there came out for the love and affection he/she has for lagos (NOT BECAUSE THEY CANT PAY ONLY 1 TOLL), there are a whole lot of REALLY poor people living in sango tedo, ajah, ibeju lekki, epe who actually have to pay for like 3 tolls, some are receptionists, marketers, office assistants who actually constitute about 80% of the people you see every morniing, most of them earn less than N2m per annum with a small tokumbo toyota/honda car or a brand new kia/hyundai, even the so called big jeeps you see are second hand, i implore you to take a closer look at this whole issue.

i know Akaizo and Lagsgidi are the Government boys BUT the truth is, i who write am MORE connected and have BENEFITED from the government  than you.

BUT all these doesn't change the hardship the people are going through, and I feel for the masses.

I REST MY CASE.

"Our comdemnation of the moves of LCC to force people into paying the toll fare still stands! we therefore call upon our residents and Visitors to resist the tolling commencing today in every way possible! Take Tolled Road, BUT do not pay!"

i was there live

a full battalion of MOPOL protecting Tinubu's investment.
a city like lagos with the highest number of enlightened people, a few cabals are turning it into a capitalist empire for them and their unborn kids.

imagine, myself as a resident of Ajah have to pay 2 toll gates N150 each to go to work daily, that =N=600 daily, =N=4,200 weekly, =N=16,800 monthly, =N=201,600 annually, this excludes weekend movements, which means on the average i will spend =N=300,000 annually on toll gate to TINUBU because we voted ACN.

there are no alternative routes, i will have to pay daily

God help us in Lagos state.

Fashola is just compensating them for keeping quiet and supporting ACN at the LG elections.

the people will now pay back from the tolls to be collected.

Lagos have the highest collection of educated people but these same people are the most brainwashed.

these ACN kingpins have formed an empire for themselves and their unborn generation but some brainwashed poor dudes are here supporting blindly.

people are paying all form of taxes and soon they will start paying toll even in the heart of the town where they are no alternate routes and they are still clapping for ACN.

LAGOSIANS have alot to learn from the NORTHERNERS.
