festusfeezy: ASUU strikes from1999 till date: 1999 -5 months 2001 -3 months 2003 - 6 months (extended to early 2004) 2005 - 3 days 2006 - 1 week 2007 - 3 months 2008 - 1 week 2009 - 4 months 2011 - 3 months extend into 2012 2013 - over 4months and still counting,,,,, From the above analysis, it's clear there was never a time FG met 100% of ASUU demands before they called off the strike. If this is the case, why has ASUU refused to shift ground even when FG has met more than 75% of their demands? From available information, FG has met all ASUU demands. The only contentious issue is the ambiguous N92b earned allowance claim which FG has released N60b to universities management to pay upon verification. Is the release of N60b not enough for a sane organisation to shift ground and allow Nigerian students enjoy the education they paid for while negotiation with FG continues? ASUU has however, continuously refused to tell Nigerians the contentious issues. The ones FG has met and the areas it's yet to meet. The present ASUU represents nothing but deceit and has lost public sympathy. It's obvious ASUU strike has become annual event where lecturers abandon their jobs in public universities for part-time jobs in private universities. The best thing for FG is to disaband ASUU so that it won't have a national body again because it has become a political tool in the hand of APC to destabilise GEJ's govt.
We are still saying d sme thing.ASUU strike is politically motivated just to distract GEJ led administration. |

Politics / Re: Why APC Is Scared Of National Dialogue - PDP by ochilikoko(m): 6:44am On Oct 25, 2013 |
bcomputer101: THE leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has slammed the All Progressive Congress(APC) over its decisions to boycott the forthcoming national dialogue, affirming that the opposition has nothing to contribute for the progress of the nation. The APC had, through its Interim National Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, described the planned conference as diversionary and that the Federal Government lacked credibility to organise such a conference. Mohammed said, “what we see today is that this government has lost focus; it has lost credibility, it has lost control of the economy. In any event, we see this thing as nothing but a diversion and what are we talking about a national conference for when even the President(Dr. Goodluck Jonathan) himself has said the outcome of the conference would be subjected to the approval of the National Assembly?” the APC said. The PDP, through its National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, however, condemned the APC as lacking ideas for national growth and development, declaring that the dialogue was not a conference of political parties but that of Nigerians of various ethnic nationalities. Describing the position of the APC as unpatriotic, the PDP said Nigerians were ready to talk and Dialogue, accusing the opposition party of operating divison and discord as a tool for politics. Said Metuh, “the APC thrives in sowing seeds of discords and division. They promote ethnic interest above national interest and they value the interest of their Financial overlords. “Nigerians have welcomed the conference.Traditional ,religious leaders and leaders of civil society have embraced the dialogue. If they are boycotting,it is because they have nothing to contribute to the progress of the nation?” The PDP, he said ,believed in the national dialogue, adding “we believe we can be better than what we are today. We believe the goal is to bring up ideas to build greater nation,” he said.

Crime / Re: Enugu, Crime Capital Of Nigeria – Survey by ochilikoko(m): 6:24am On Oct 22, 2013 |
yunglykmine: Where would you likely be a victim of crime in Nigeria? See the safest and most dangerous states in Nigeria. Enugu State, in the south east, is the official crime capital of Nigeria, a crime perception survey released on Monday in Abuja has said. At least 70 per cent of respondents to the survey in Enugu admitted they were victims of crime in the past year, the 2013 National Crime Victimization and Safety Survey conducted by CLEEN Foundation showed. The national average was 25 per cent – one in every four Nigerian. The survey showed a progressive decrease in the number of victims of crime in Nigeria. “There has been a six per cent decrease in actual experience of crime from the 31 per cent recorded in 2012 to the current 25 percent,” the report said. The report surveyed for crimes like robbery, kidnapping, physical assault, phone and car theft, rape and attempted rape, domestic violence, attempted murder and other crimes. The Crime Victimization Survey used data collected across Nigeria between June and July 2013. Closely following Enugu State is its neighbour, Ebonyi, where at least 65 per cent – at least three in every five residents – were victims of crime. Ekiti state, in southwest Nigeria, shares the same crime records with Ebonyi State. More than three in every five respondents admitted they were victims of crime last year. Ogun State, a neighbour to Lagos is the safest state in Nigeria with only about one in every 20 citizens admitting they were victims of crimes last year. Katsina State in Northwest Nigeria is the next safest. Only about one in every 10 residents was a victim of crime last year. Lagos State recorded 18 percent. Borno and Yobe, despite being the hotbed for Boko Haram attacks recorded seemingly low crime rates, according to the report. Only about one in every four resident admitted being victims of crime last year. Boko Haram militants have murdered over 1,500 people in the states since launching a vicious attack against government establishments, security agencies, religious places and the residents. At a geopolitical level, the South East recorded the highest number of crimes with 44 per cent of respondents complaining they were victims. The North West recorded the lowest score of 18 per cent crime rate. On a gender scale, more men than women fell victims of crimes in Nigeria last year. “Further (segregation) by gender indicates that more men (27%) had actual experience than women (23%),” the report said. Irony of feeling Although Ogun State recorded the lowest actual experience of crime, almost everyone in the state fear they would become victims of crime. The findings of the 2013 survey indicated that 94 per cent of Ogun residents fear they are likely victims of crime. In actual sense, only one in 20 was a victim of crime. On a national scale, more than 7 out of 10 Nigerians had the fear of becoming victims of crime last year. The people who feel safest are those in Benue and Taraba States. Only 38 per cent of residents in those state had fears of becoming victims of crime. One in four residents of Benue state were victims of crime last year, and not more than one in every six in Taraba. “Analysing by gender, 73 percent of females feared becoming victims of crime compared to 71 percent of males,” the report said. “Overall, these findings are meant to assist the government, police and the entire criminal justice administration system to better understand emerging trends in crime and safety in Nigeria and consequently, to refine and deploy improved strategies to resolve the country’s current challenges of security and safety,” the authors, CLEEN Foundation, said. The survey was conducted with support from the Macarthur Foundation. [Download the full report here]

Thankgodifeduba: MILLIONS OF ANAMBRA TRADERS VOW TO SHUN APGA(OBIANO) FOR CALLING THEM SECOND CLASS CITIZENS ONITSHA — Registered voters in Nigeria, under the aegis of Conference of Nigeria Registered Voters, CNRV, have warned traders in Anambra State against voting for the flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mr. Willie Obiano in the November 16 governorship election in the state. President of CNRV, Mr Jezie Ekejiuba who sounded this note of warning in a statement yesterday in Onitsha, said their grouse was because of Obiano’s recent campaign speech where he was quoted as describing traders as second class citizens in the state. Obiano reportedly said: “I am pained when people dismiss Anambra indigenes as traders. A state that gave the world Chinua Achebe, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Kenneth Dike, Alex Ekwueme and Odumegwu Ojukwu cannot afford to play second fiddle to its contemporaries in education.” According to Ekejiuba, who is also a human rights lawyer, ‘’registered voters consider this statement coming from Obiano as an insult to traders in Anambra State, as most of whom are eminent personalities and graduates with bachelors and masters degrees.’’ CNRV added that by referring to Anambra traders as citizens who play second fiddle because of lack of education, Obiano meant that they ‘’have little or no education,’’ adding that ‘’this is a wrong assumption which is to say the least, unfortunate.’’ He further said that, “Anambra State is inhabited by proud traders and professionals. The state is what it is today because of the great contributions of her proud and prosperous market traders. This is not surprising because the state is home to the biggest market in West Africa- the popular and historic Onitsha Main Market.” Describing Obiano’s speech as reckless, Ekejiuba asked the APGA’s governorship candidate to apologize to the traders without further delay, as the speech had exposed him as one who was likely to pursue anti-traders’ policies if voted into office.

My question to you also are: *Is Nigeria a Muslim country? *With all the populations of Christians in the world, why is there no country of the world using Cannon laws to govern their affairs but prefer the human imperfect laws in preference to Biblical laws? * why is it that all forms of indescencies and great evil( homosexual, prostitution, armed robbery) are symbols of the communities who call themselves Christians? * Why are the majority of the atheists of the world were Christian?
