DESTINY
Destiny means future or pre-determined path of life or pre-determined events that are meant or shall happen in a man’s life which are beyond his control, input or influence. By this definition and concept, it can be deduced that man has no active role in the outcome of his life, that success or failure is beyond man’s control, that que sera sera (what will be, will be) irrespective of our actions or inactions. This is a destructive fallacy and has completely eroded the potency of the creative force inherent in our mind, the audacity of our visions and has entrapped many in spiritual comatose.

No man or woman is born to fail, non is born to suffer, at birth irrespective of our background is equal. All, yes l mean all has the equal right to succeed in life. The journey of life may be easier for some, difficult for some but the destinations is and always has been a function of CHOICE. There is no iota of favouritism in nature, the universe runs on the principle of equality. The misconception lies in our value system, mistaking materialism for contentment and success. Nature uniformly and equally blessed all with the brain, the mind and time. Ability or inability to productively engage and develop prudent management of these is what places one either at the bottom or the top of the ladder.

Always remember that anything, yes anything conceived by the human mind is possible and achievable. As a man sees in his mind, so will his life turn out. As you picture it, so shall it be featured. You are meant to dominate, conquer and rule your world. Stop being a mere spectator, passively watching your script being directed and played out by chance and others. You own your life, get up, take charge and narrate your script. Nobody owes you anything so don’t rely on others. At the end, you and only you will be accountable for how well or not you lived your life.


Don’t be deceived by misguided religious beliefs. Remember the scriptural mandate…let it be done to you according to your faith. Faith here implies vision, as you picture, as you visualize so shall it be granted unto you. Heaven cannot do for you what you can do for yourself. Do not join parochial minded church folks to sing “it shall be permanent, it shall be permanent” when you wallow in pessimistic self induced mental comatose. Don’t be comfortable in creative and material poverty, don’t embrace mediocrity. Come out of your comfort zone and live practically. Do not come to the end of your live, only to find out that you have not truly lived. If the video clip of your life were to be played to you after you are gone, you will be bitter at the opportunities you missed because you ‘’thought”, “knew” and were “told” that it was impossible for you.

You are the architect of your future and will definitely be accountable for the outcome. You can re-write and re-construct your script, your future. Your tomorrow is a function of 90% of your decisions and 10% cumulative effects/reactions of your decisions. Nature abhors serendipity and honours choices. Gethsemane shall be overcome, Golgotha shall be trodden down, so when you are faced with the trials and tribulations of same, let the heart not quake or quiver for there is and always has been a light at the end of the tunnel. A life devoid of challenges is not really existing and unproductive.

Get up, re-trace your steps, re-evaluate your values and believe systems, demystify the unknown and rule your world. Your destiny is a product of your vision. Let every action, inaction, decision align and take your closer to your vision hence they must count. Put away all encumbrances and stubbornly focus on your vision, every obstacle surmounted is an increased momentum to your vision. Your destiny is directly proportional to the summation of your vision, knowledge and effort/ work (vision + knowledge + effort/work = destiny).
Let it be done to you according to your faith…………..l can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Soliloquy
I have come to the cross roads perplexed and uncertain yet inevitably resolved to chart a path, to appraise yesterday, evaluate the realities of today and strategize for the eventualities of tomorrow. Here l am, pondering on my believe system, values and paradigm. So far, how far? Time to sieve and discard frivolities and unproductive allegiances. Had a hard look at the mirror, what did l see? Who did I see? ……… myself……..yes only my face staring back at me, didn’t see family, didn’t see friends nor acquaintances. This is a stark reality that l am solely responsible and accountable for my life and must act accordingly.

Given my sole responsibility and accountability, how far have l acted accordingly? When faced with decisive challenges or options, what naturally comes to my mind first? Is it how others will react and think about my decision or is it considering what is best for me? Do l aim to be accepted and applauded or do l aim for personal growth and intellectual cum spiritual enlightenment and illumination. What if that which will benefit me is not acceptable to those close to me? What if l have to make a choice between my happiness and public acceptance? Is it ideal to sacrifice my “needs” for public “wants”? For each time l make decision based on others opinion, l find my self-worth diminishing and my spirit being getting stuck in a quick sand.

So far, how far?..........hmmmmm how do l want the last mirror image to look? A fulfilled face reflecting a contented and purposeful life? A pathetic face masking a shallow life, lost in the delusional sea of public approval and acceptance? Humo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto!!(l am human and anything human is not strange to me!!), yes l am far from being perfect and just, l am not complete but l want to glance at the mirror and recognize who l am and not be confronted with a face embellished with borrowed cosmetics. Now l must pause to answer this nagging question that has perturbed me for long, that will determine my next step, yes it is time, it is now or never.

WHAT DO I WANT? ……..l want to be ME. Yes l want to be ME not YOU not THEM and definitely not US. For long l have lived on the corridors of others and public opinion where their reactions are the deciding factor in all my decisions. Enough!! When l take a stock of all l had wanted that l didn’t reach out for because of others opinion, l feel and l realize that l have failed ME……for l am the creative force of my universe, l have the unction for greatness, l am unstoppable, l am an eagle, l am the BEST!!! I have to rediscover ME, I have to follow my instincts and my mind….if l fail, l will get up with dignity and strive harder……….l want to know the pains of failing, the triumph of flying……..l want to stand tall…..l want to look back with pride that no bully, no villain nor setback could stop ME.

Yes still at the cross roads but now l know which way to go for my destination is now clear and my strength has been renewed. I march forward, never to look back because now l know who l am.
