Health / Re: Can You Marry Someone With Offensive Body Odour? by odidis(m): 2:40pm On Jun 23, 2006
Hi all,

That Rhoda-Lyn is idealistic does not remove the fact that marriage is not a tea party. While it is not possible to find someone hundred percent tailored to your expectations, be sure that the challenges are tolerable. Love can carry a union on the wheels of lust and impeccable sex for not more than 8 years, after which every aspect of relationship is both consciously and subconsciously rationalised. This is when even Rhoda may begin to become disturbed by "silly" body odour.

Nairaland / General / Who Will Kiss You If Your Teeth Are Discolored? by odidis(m): 5:45pm On Jun 20, 2006
Let me wonder what I would've done had my teeth been discoloured. Well, now that I have thought about it, the first thing that would have come to mind would have been to look for a way of whitening them as a reward for self realization.

That is a natural reaction, isn't it?  If you say yes it will make me wonder why some people go all out to discolour their teeth with tobacco, smoking or chewing, coffee drinking, and even chocolate eating addiction without making any effort to whiten them.

There was this guy I watched toast a babe recently. He was handsome by all standards of handsomeness, but he smiled even when the situation called for laughter. And soon it was obvious why this guy could not laugh. His teeth were the colour of coffee.

There and then I recalled a young elegant girl  I had once toasted and no matter how much I tried to amuse her she will never laugh, and when she smiled she did with barely opened lips, again, the problem was she knew the colour of her teeth, chocolate, which I eventually saw and quickly averted my mouth from the kiss that almost sealed our date as success.

The question is if you can't smile because your teeth are discoloured, who on earth will want to kiss you even if you get toasted?

Distance
steadily walks away
from the owls in the nests

thoughts in the breast of men.

Distance keeps walking as ever,
far away as only eyes can see;
following it steadily,
their short strides keep them behind

walking

longing to get away from the doldrums in the sockets,
the suffocating familiarity,
towards Distance

that place

where the unknown brews
intoxicating concoctions of life
for all who dare to venture.

Eyes have been to many places
but never caught up with distance.
Eyes have seen many things
conversed with so many owls
in the solitude minds

that far away place,
that beckons all to see
the sizes and colors and shapes of their desires.
