The panel beater, identified as Sarafa Rasak, 26, was alleged to have beaten Oladele Oluwatobi, a sales repre-sentative and ticketer attached to LAGBUS Asset Management Limited over a disagreement. The LAGBUS staff, whose nose was broken in the attack, was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit at Old Tollgate, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. According to Rasak, an argument began when the bus refused to stop at Anthony. He said he did not beat Oluwatobi, but that he tripped and fell. Abuja – The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Gu Xiaojie, has expressed support for the plan by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to convert more of the country’s 39 billion dollar foreign reserve to Yuan. Speaking at a Forum on Wednesday in Abuja, Xiaojie described the plan as “ a very encouraging development’’. He said it demonstrated the “closeness’’ between both countries, which currently have an annual bilateral trade volume of 13 billion dollars. “Nigeria is among few countries, or two or four countries, in the world that have parts of their foreign reserve in Renminbi (RMB) currency and we are happy about that. “We have noticed that the Central Bank of Nigeria is increasing its share of Chinese RMB Yuan in its foreign currency. “Talking about financial cooperation there are more opportunities, wider range of things we could do in finance because China has the biggest foreign reserve in the world. “For such a big country (like Nigeria) you have to have all kinds of securities.’’ Xiaojie said China had noted the positive growth in Nigeria’s economy, including the fundamental growth in the micro economy. “The government is handling the financial micro economy very cautiously with the international cooperation and I think you are doing the right thing. “We hope that there will be closer cooperation in the area of financing and micro economy,’’ he said. In January the CBN had hinted of plans to convert more of Nigerian reserves from dollars to Yuan. At present 80 per cent of Nigeria’s foreign reserves are held in U.S. dollars. The apex bank started converting its reserves into Yuan in 2011. (NAN) http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/10/chinese-ambassador-backs-plan-convert-nigerian-foreign-reserves-dollars-yuan/ |

PROMINENT Northern Islamic Cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, Friday, warned President Goodluck Jonathan against contesting the 2015 Presidential election, saying that doing so may lead Nigeria into chaos and turmoil that would be unprecedented. He gave the warning in a statement he issued to journalists Friday in Kaduna, pointing out that the nation has had enough crisis. Besides, the statement accused Jonathan of “dangerously dividing Nigeria” along religious lines, just as he noted that the President sees himself as an Ijaw leader than of Nigeria as a whole. Gumi said: “We have never met despite the fact that we were all born and we lived for more than half a century in this great vast country Nigeria. It’s here we all grew up and were educated and I presume, except by divine prudence, it’s here that we will all be buried. “So, what truly matters is the legacy that we will bequest our children and the next generation of Nigerians to come. We will not want it a burnt country with hundreds of thousands of dead, maimed or displaced people because of the thoughtlessness and recklessness of its stewards.” Gumi reminded President Jonathan that the mantle of the leadership of this country was given to him under oath, stressing: “Unfortunately, many people including me before God believe you broke some of your oath.” Gumi argued: “I’ll only need to refer you back to the honest open letter advice you were given by your political godfather. You appear more Ijaw than Nigerian. It’s seldom fathers will deceive their children. Yet you never listen. And sadly by your recalcitrance you are dangerously leading this nation to chaos and turmoil that only God knows were it will end. “Muslims have officially registered to you on occasions your partiality. Northern groups have complained about your bias. The youth about your neglect. You have divided the nation gravelly on the religious divide. “Already, we heard a call in a church that you are now a saviour. Now, not of Nigeria, but the church in Nigeria. With this religious zeal on both sides, each side looking at the wrong people for salvation, the nation is heading towards disaster.” He continued: “It’s unfortunate that your stand on many issues have made you into a polarising figure while the exalted office you occupy needs a nationalistic one. Surely, with the Christian votes and northern PDP followers, you can win another election but you will also set the nation into another turmoil because that segment of the nation that rejects you do so because they believe rightly or wrongly you are involved negatively in the Boko Haram saga. “The natural thing any good leader will do in this situation is to step down for a person all the segments of the nation will have confidence with for their well-being. A credible person that will not stir apprehension. The decision is not about your rights but about responsibility. “Therefore, as you pray in the Holy Land seek for God’s indulgence to show you the light of honour and do the right thing. It’s God’s command that Nigeria stay united and ‘what therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Gumi added: “A word of wisdom says: ‘He who consults is never disappointed and he who seeks God’s choice never regrets’. So, please don’t brush it aside, call men of wisdom to advice you too.” source: gurdianmobile.com |

The more religious we become, the lower the state of our moral values! Our positive cultural values have not fared better too. One may think with the religious growth, we may have good value system. But this is far from being so. So, can we ever come to a time of possible rejuvination of a sound and positive cultural and moral values? The answer is NO! At least not on a collective level. But what can we do to promote good moral values? And imbibe sound cultural values? |

One interesting aspect of the mobile market is the rapid trend customers change their tastes. This is mostly triggered by new development in products. This determine customers purchasing behaviour. Most buyers may not necessarily need a mobile device as strong as Nokia 3310 but a device that can be able to do many things at a time at the cheapest cost. Of late, TECNO products are becoming costly, I believe somehow, they tend to forget that the age bracket that uses androids mobile devices the most are between 17 to 35 years of age. A large percentage of this age bracket do not have regular income owing to unavailability of jobs. This trend has no change yet, however, TECNO went ahead to produce mobile devices that are expensive like the way SAMSUNG, HTC, LG, etc are doing. This certainly will result into poor patronage hence a downfall. Take for instance a mobile phone user of the above mentioned age bracket to choose between TECNO Z and Innjoo i2s most may tend to choose Innjoo i2s, the latter choice is not because Innjoo devices are better, but because there is limited fund so they will choose the cheaper one and use the balance for something else. Is this the downfall of TECNO? Well maybe!! 7 Likes |

Innjoo1s is now N13230. Mobile phones are the only products that prices do fall. Most other things prices go up. |
![]() |
For Innjoo to succeed quickly in the market they need to start selling their phones in the regular shops and not on online retail outlet. |

When will other marketing outlets start to market this phone? It looks as if it is eternity before Slot, and computer village start to sell it. |

Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Joshua, has told Ebola victims in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea to stay in their respective countries. The clergyman made the statement after visiting government health officials implored him not to allow anybody infected with the virus to come into the church from the affected countries. In a message posted on the church’s official Facebook page and signed by himself, Joshua cautioned those suffering from the deadly Ebola Virus Disease against “crossing borders” for any reason. “What makes you a good citizen makes you a good Christian. There is a law in every country that bars Ebola victims from crossing borders. Obey the law of your land and it shall be well with you. Obey the law of the land by not crossing the borders of your nation with Ebola virus,” he wrote in the message, which was classified as an “important notice” on the website of the church. |

So what is really wrong with the African version of religion? People are very religious in Africa, could it be that countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Ukraine etc. do not merit "heaven "? |
![]() |
I have observed with dismay how Sub-Sahara Africa are so pious in their religious beliefs but ironically how this cannot be translated to good morals and improved ethical values. The more we are religious, the more corrupt we are. |
