Sorry o but I'm just wondering why he couldn't just use his British passport to enter Canada back cos I know they don't need a visa.

Nice that you both reached a conclusion on the discussion. I had posted this in the past and may not get into much legalese. Let everyone learn from the story.

Ok. thanks, I am yet to get my PR card so I assume I have to wait till I get it before I can link with my CIC account.

Please expatiate on what u mean by active assist subsidy for recreation facilities. What is it about please.
Temidewale:

You still have child benefit to apply for if you have kids, active assist subsidy to get access to subsidy for recreational facilities, link your PR card application to your CIC account too

Ok. Thank you Salford

yes. British citizens have no special treatment whether at the application stage or after arriving in Canada. They go through the immigration process and integration challenges like everyone else.

Hello People,

Greetings from Toronto. I got in here 11 days ago, everything has been fine so far and hoping to get a job soon as i have done a telephone interview with a bank and I was told the second stage of telephone interview will hold next week.

I actually got a job 4 days after I landed as I had two stage interviews for a marketing job but I turned it down as it wasn't what I wanted, it was about marketing credit cards to people at stores and salary was based on commission meaning i only get paid based on the number of sales i make per day.

Anyway, I have a question to ask please. For a British citizen, does the person need to go through same process as we all went through writing IELTS, ECA etc for Express Entry or Provincial nomination to migrate to Canada or there is a special process for them being that they colonized Canada. Please anyone with similar experience should helpwith responses.

And please apart from SIN, BANK ACCOUNT, DRIVERS LICENCE, HEALTH CARD, is there any other thing one needs to register for?

Thank you

All Canadian banks accept USD. I suggest you do the USD/CAD conversion in Canada. The rates are not fixed; they fluctuate/float.

Thank you very much

it's means u have 6 months from August 1st.

Cc mummyjaygirls vcole and other seniors
U r to land on or before 6 months after ur medical or expiration of ur passport abi?

I have seen many seniors have responded already. Just like they said I have always heard its one year from the date I did my medicals or my passport expiry which ever comes first. I am yet to get my passport back and CoPR, will see the timeline I have when I do.

i need clarification on POF please. i'm still putting funds together and i intend to put these in treasury bills or fixed deposit and use the certificate as POF. Now to my question, will it be a problem if i book the fixed deposit/t bills post ITA? and will i still need to attach my bank statement or just the Tbill/fixed deposit certificate will suffice

It's not a problem if u book the tbills/fix deposit post ITA, u should use the investment certificate and your account statement as well so they will see when it was booked from your account. U can highlight the transaction on the date u booked it so the VO can easily spot it.

See info below (BGC - is Background Check)

Stages in Canadian PR journey

1st the profile
2nd is ITA
3rd is AOR
4th medicals
5th background
6th ppr
7th COPR
8th landing
9th pr card
=======================

These are 3 different stages that majority of the PR applicants in EE will see against Background check in My CIC.

IP1
--------
IP1 will be shown when we pass the medical. Some people get this update on the same day along with their medical and some of them couple of days after. CIC agents will do R10, criminality checks during this stage. Once they feel everything is good then they will change it to NA. These things will happen at CIO Office (Centralized Intake Office)

NA
---------
This stage, our file will be transferred to CPC (Case processing Center) where agents will do eligibility assessments. If they feel everything is okay, then they will provide their recommendation to Visa Officer and same time they will initiate Security Checks.

IP2
--------
This status will be seen in my CIC account once Visa Officer starts reviewing or after reviewing all agents recommendations. On the same day PPR request will be triggered if the applicant paid RPRF upfront. These things will be done at CPC office.

It is not necessary that every applicant will undergo this process. But majority of the cases, I have noticed the same status

Thanks a lot Ehrnie. I get it now. Gracias

Hello everyone, I don't really talk much here but I ve met some nice people on dis trend @dedauyn, @lindi, @sugarliz etc. I had my first interview on tues 12th of march at catholic mission street and it went well, funny enuf I wasn't asked anything abt the bank guess I just found favour in their sight. They asked abt how my growing up was, abt my essay which was on boko haram, my project topic, why do I wanna work in d bank cos I studied estate mgt and wat if they don't ve a dept for me in the estate sector and I told them am versatile and I was asked to prove it which I did. That's all. We are yet to hear from dem cos none of us dat did has heard anything but am hoping for the best. I had my test Nov 9th, 2012 and documentation dec 12th, 2012. Take care
