Career / Re: Abia Teachers Can’t Cash Cheques Issued By Govt For July Salary by OjoChigozieNuhu: 6:58am On Dec 31, 2016
July what? How have they been surviving. I grew up in a house that is dependent on monthly salary, out sustainance (Rent, School fees, feeding, major projects) is dependent on when the govt pays. However payment was regular then at the state level (80's).
Some of these guys in government today had similar experience wonder why they are now making civil servants to pass through hell before being paid their wages. My heart bleeds whenever I hear stories of civil servants being owed.

Say the following prayers after me...oh God, I refuse to crossover to 2017 with the spirit of ethnic bigotism.
How many months salary is being owed Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti civil servants?

We don't need to import machineries, agricultural implements. We have to produce them here in Nigeria so other countries can buy from us. Let stop using the dollar for anytime, then the issue of exchange rate won't be there. For u that think you have common sense, the only way u can equate the naira to the dollar is not to have any need for it.
Yes you will produce and other countries will buy from you just as one of your ministers promised that you people will start producing pencil by 2022! Do you think it is child's play to produce machineries and Agricultural impliments (you need to visit NCAM at Ilorin) + with your government's funny polices? For instance what has this government done about revitalizing the steel industry and the developement of Science and Technology? You think production is by mouth ko grin

If dollar is 1 to 1, and everybody become an importer, that will make us to be a dependent nation. So, tell me, what is going be to be our benefits?

Abeg, Common sense is not common.
Is the forex about importing consumables alone? Now in lay man's language........... If one dollar is 1 to 1 producers can import essential machineries that cannot be made in Nigeria to produce goods locally from locally sourced raw materials, Agricultural impliments/tractors can be imported at afordable rates for farmers to boost production and so.....
Also it will be easy to buy, transfer and adopt technology to make the nation become independent.
Indeed common sense is not common at all
Properties / Re: 3 Buildings Housing 81 Police Families To Be Demolished In Lagos by OjoChigozieNuhu: 7:32am On Dec 30, 2016
kelvee:
The Nigeria Police in Lagos State, on Thursday said three more buildings housing 81 police families would be pulled down at the Highway Police Barracks, Ikeja due to structural defects.
Mr Maigari Dikko, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), in charge of Works disclosed the plan to newsmen while inspecting a building that collapsed in same barrack where two persons lost their lives.
A Sergeant and a civilian lost their lives on Christmas Day when part of the toilet collapsed while they bathed.
That building was later pull down on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni.
The DIG works said he was instructed by the Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris to visit the scene of incident and also to commiserate with the families of those that lost their lives.
“We have told some of them to vacate the buildings. The buildings are defective; they have been served quit notice to leave for a long time.
“We have asked Commissioner of Police in charge of Lagos command and the works department to enforce the relocation. We do not want a repeat of the incident in the barracks.
“The officers affected are not being evicted. They are asked to relocate for obvious reason of safety.
“Prevention is better than cure. The force headquarter is not sitting idle.
“We are working out a plan for a better rehabilitation of all defective buildings in all barracks across the nation. We are going to use our professionals to carry out the works.
“We are using direct labour to rehabilitate police barracks. The project will commence as soon as the government releases the needed fund’’, Dikko said.
The DIG said that all police officers affected would be given lodging allowance for relocation as soon as the government released the fund.
“That is the best we can do for them; we will not just throw them out, we will ensure they have something to relocate”, he added.
Some of the officers affected, who spoke with newsmen on condition of anonymity, were happy about the peomise of lodging allowance for their relocation.
“We will be happy if we have money to move to another accommodation. We are not against the rehabilitation plan of the force.
“We will also be happy to be re-allocated our apartments after the rehabilitation because barrack is safer for our families’’, they told NAN.
Each block of the two storey buildings accommodated 27 police families of rank and file, and some ASPs.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police Zone 2, Mr Kayode Aderanti and Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Fatai Owoseni accompanied the DIG on the inspection.

i am talkin 'bout his achievement
Can you categorize a student that failed 6 out of 12 courses an achiver? How have the nine points listed by you made exchange rate to be 197 Naira to 1 dollar, brought down the price of 50kg of rice to 8000 Naira, made the salary of an average civil servant a living wage?

Lets call a spade a spade......Buhari is yet to impress the populance after almost two years in the office. We belive and hope he can still turn things around.
