@Easimoni, @Temmie10
Bought some crusader at lower price at the beggining of the month when the price was falling before they release the interim result. But I'm begining to think about why the interim result was soo good. If you remember as stated in their website[ http://www.crusaderplconline.com/about.htm], they acquire about 4 insurance companies.

My question is whether the merger/acquisition will have any effect on the shares outstanding I remembered that UBA made some acquisitions without any impact on the shares outstanding.

I hope is the same for crusader. Wapic will be a very good buy at 5 naira, it is the best insurance for me, trust what Erastus can do. They have started opening new branches all over the places and also in Ghana. For MBenefit, I was encouraged by the profiles of their directors and it aid my decision for the stock

MBenefit PAT for 2006 was 702m confirmed, also 2006 9months result was just over 200m which means they made about 500m in Q4. I thought they would have started 2007 with the same level of performance as for 2006 Q3, but the Q2 2007 was less than the last quarter of 2006.

Don't really know much about their business, maybe they make more money in last quarter In any case, I hope so.

@easimoni
Your expected PAT for MBenefit might be a bit too high unless their result improves dramatically. The half year result was just over 400m, the result was released but not well publicised. On ther other hand, C & I to me has capacity to grow their earnings dramatically. Remember they just acquire 2 vessels and their attempt to acquire contrlling share in Ghana 2nd larged leasing company is still on going.

I believe both MBenefit and C & I are good if you are looking at 12 months frame.

Easimoni, do you know the total share outstanding for Standard alliance and Soverign trust?? Need to do some analysis on them. Wapic is getting close to a very good buy point too. They will have unbeatable earnings in the sector for sure!!

@egoldman
I think the bear will continue for now considering the amount of PO that are still on the way. Also, most people have made good % and I forseen a panick selling which may further depress the market. I would advice anybody to hold and watch till the end of next week.

Wanted to buy some acces but reconsidering my decision now as it looks there could be better offers in the seconday market

APT seemed to have done a cheap job there. I'm sure dey based their analysis on old data. Stock analysis required alot of record keeping and discipline. From their research session, the most recent result they have is 2005, tell me how you can use 2005 earnings for 2007 price forecasts. The major challenge as pointed out by easimoni is the share outstanding. If i have this info, I can close my eye and do a good analysis. APT believe wapic is worth < 3 naira??

What do you people think abou IEI insurance? the share outstanding is killing,

Shares to watch for me: Crusader < N4.5, C&I < 5, Berger Paint < N6, Dunlop < N3. Dunlop is a bit of a risk whcih might be worth taking but the other ones I'm quiet sure.
The present downward trend in the market seems to be a nice thing, people would start panicking and the discerning investors will take position.

Easimoni, nwaja et al, you guys are doing great!!!!
