I quite agree with you that he is not the only one. Infact, some probably stole my than him. However, when investigating fraud, the Chief Executive (i.e. Approving Autority) is usually the number one suspect. It is now left for him/her to corporate with the investigators to name others or decided to carry the cross alone. The choice is his to make.

Nice one but one question I keep asking is that is he the only man standing or living on earth among the public office holders who embezzled our money, why are others not persecuted.

Before you attack me on this remember that we collectively bear the burnt of their actions

Thank you for your response. If I decided to cancel the application and start all over, how soon can I get a refund of the $128 paid?

Dear all

Please I need help on a UK visit visa application I made for my aunt. I have filled the form, submitted and paid the $128 on the UK government visa. At the point of booking the appointment I was redirected to the website of tlscontact. I observed that the website came up with another 55pounds payment. I ensured I didn’t pick any of their services as I want to handle all the scanning and uploads by myself. I have checked through the TSL Contact website but there is no phone number to contact them. Please can somebody help out? Or am I to pay another 55pounds after paying the 128 dollars for the UK visit visa?
Politics / Re: SUKUK Islamic Bond Is A Way To Islamize Nigeria Through Back Door –CAN by olajay5: 1:38pm On Sep 20, 2017
I had expected to see rationale points based on the Sukuk Bond but as expected, fellow Nigerians are bent on derailing the post with abuse and name-calling. In fact I will not be surprised if this becomes another ethnic battle between supposedly educated and reasonable Nigerians. No wonder the ruling politicians asserts that the youths are not ready to lead in Nigeria. Please before you comment on every post, why not let’s think about it and make reasonable comment rather than abusing one another.

Back to the topic: Sukuk
Sukuk represents undivided shares in the ownership of tangible assets relating to particular projects or special investment activity. A sukuk investor has a common share in the ownership of the assets linked to the investment although this does not represent a debt owed to the issuer of the bond. Therefore, Sukuk holders are ONLY entitled to a share in the revenues generated by the Sukuk assets.

FGN Sukuk Issue
In Nigeria, in view of the decline in oil revenue, the Federal Government in finding alternative sources of funding decided to issue a Sukuk to fund some major road projects across the country. Roads such as Ibadan-Ilorin Rd, Kolo-Otuoke-Bayelsa-Palm Rd, Enugu-P/Harcourt Rd, Kaduna Eastern By-Pass, Kano-Maiduguri Rd. and Loko-Oweto Bridge over River Benue has been earmark for funding with the Sukuk. Please note that ALL, irrespective of religion or tribe will use these roads. The roads will improve the infrastructure of the areas as well as improve the livelihood of the people along the corridor.

Sukuk around the world
Many African countries such as Kenya, South Africa, Sudan, Niger, Cote d’Ivoire, and Togo have all issued Sukuk and none of the countries has been Islamize because of the Sukuk.
The U.K. was one of the first Western countries to issue a Sukuk in 2014 and over more than $19bn had been raised through 30 issues of Sukuk bonds on the London Stock Exchange.
In 2006, Texas-based energy firm East Cameron issued a $165.67 million Sukuk through a Cayman Islands vehicle.
GE Capital, the finance arm of General Electric, tapped the market in 2009 with a $500 million Sukuk domiciled in Bermuda to fund a lease-based aviation deal.

I think our religious leaders need to learn and stop politicising everything that can benefit ALL of us.

Very nice interior decor you have here but I am afraid these are going to cost millions. Can send me a quote for a small sized leaving room and a bed room? Though its a duplex but let me try the leaving room and my bedroom first, then I can do others if the cost is not so high. Please mail to sojay5b@gmail.com.

first, the answer to your question on if you can process your LO PASSPORT in Nigeria and take to USA is NO..on the issue of ETC, its suppose to be for people who lost their passport and can not get a new one before returning to nigeria, sometimes immigration dont issue it to baby b'cos it does not have much identification on it ,its for adults who can prove that they are nigerians, really appreciatedon the issue of booklet scarcity, cool sad , then on VOA, the steps are well detailed on immigration website, pls log on to www.immigration.gov.ng...pls am not an agent, i have said it before ,also i dont work at the embassy, some of you who have met me knows my office. i try as much as possible to be silent on some issues, even when people ask for my contact here, i see them but i always ignore, we help each other to get cheap flight ticket, accomodation ,hospital etc, some after their missionary journey thank those that answered their pms. i hope this helps thank you.

Thank you for your response@Desoul. It's really appreciated.

Haba Oga!!! Why would you even think it was possible to get a passport for a baby in absentia? grin grin

Oga!!! I think about a lot of possibilities in life and I don't limit the power of my brain and mind to think widely. More so, there is no harm in thinking differently as long as it's NOT a crime. I thought about it, shared it, asked about it and got full information that I needed. That's the way I live my life, always thinking about possibilities!

not sure that will work. The baby needs to capture albeit new born....so just go with the option of applying for a visa on the USA passport. All the best

Thank you for your comment. I have confirmed from the immigrations office and made to understands that it will not be possible as the child would need to be present before passport can be issued.

I'm sorry but I cant make sense out of the bolded, do you mean procuring a Nigerian passport for a yet unborn child.... Which/whose passport photograph are you going to put on it...?? or do you think Nigerian Immigration would give you an Intl passport without a photograph on it?? ayam not understanding ooo...

plus if the Nigerian passport booklet is still scarce & you cant get the ETC or VOA, you can still apply for a Nigerian Visa from the embassy. Eddie & Tanko could help with that or you can do that yourself if there is a Nigerian embassy in your city

Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I didn't mean unborn child. How can one get passport for an unborn child in the first place? What I meant is that my wife already gave birth in the US and I am due to join her later to return to Nigeria together. Is there any problem if I get the passport here and take it along with me. As per passport photograph, I already have that and every other details.

[quote author=chibertha post=56679157]If you are talking about getting Nigerian passport for an unborn child the answer is no.

Thank you. Not for an unborn child.

Dear all,

Following the scarcity of Nigerian passport from abroad, is it possible to get the Nigerian passport for my LO in Nigeria and take it along with me to the US for her use to return to Nigeria? Has anybody tried this option? I read people now find it difficult to process emergency travel certificate (ETC), VOA too seems not to be readily available unless you know someone to help you out (as @desouls has helped many here). Quite a number of people are asking for @desouls contact while some are getting frustrated.

Please can @desouls give a step-by-step guide to be taken to process the VOA without necessarily calling for his/her contact anytime anybody wants to process the VOA.

Thank you

Hello mummies,
Please my husband wants to notarize the DS3053
at the US embassy in Lagos. What documents should he take along with him for this?
Is it strictly by appointments only or he can just walk in and have it sorted ?

This may serve everybody that intends to notarise the form DS3053. This is from US Embassy website in Nigeria.

Notary Services

Notary services are available to all U.S. passport holders and foreign nationals for documents destined to be used in the United States. The fee is 50 USD, or the Nigerian Naira equivalent, for each notary seal stamp administered. The NGN to USD exchange rate may vary. Consent forms for Consular services and notarials or certified copies to be presented by claimants, beneficiaries, or their witnesses in connection with obtaining U.S. Federal, state, or municipal benefits are free of charge if notarized at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate, although individuals may also choose to have them notarized by a Notary Public in the United States.

Preparation for a notary appointment

Before you come to the Embassy/Consulate, read your document(s) through carefully and make sure you understand the document(s). If a document is not clear, check with the office or organization requiring the notarized document or your legal advisor. Consular staff cannot explain your document(s) to you.
Know exactly where you are meant to sign. The consular staff cannot advise you in any way on what is required of you for your document so come to the Embassy fully prepared.
Mark every page where the notary needs to sign, with a marker sticker sticking out of the document. Also make clear which pages should be attached to each other, for instance with a paper clip.
Fill in the document(s) with the appropriate names, places and dates. However, DO NOT sign your document – you will sign under oath at the Embassy before a Consular Officer.
Bring personal identification, preferably your passport.
Bring the entire document(s), even if only one page is to be notarized.
Notary Services

No appointment is necessary for notarial services in Abuja and Lagos.
Hours of service for Abuja are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Hours of service for Lagos are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Wait Times For Notary Services

Please be aware that wait times for notaries range from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number of customers. Generally speaking, the earlier you arrive, the shorter your wait

These CBPs can ask questions sha. Many people are just porting to Houston hence all their shakara. Thank God your wife was prepared. Please we are waiting for the comment about Dr. E.

Part 2 of my DW's experience. Challenge with Dr. E

We started engaging Dr E as far back as November 2016 with constant mail exchange. February this year, Dr E sent list of tests, confirm her appointment, send necessary letters and everything seems set and good-to-go. On DW's appointment date, DW got to Dr E's office but the appointment was rescheduled due to some system issue. The Dr kept my wife waiting for two weeks

Fast forward to her next appointment date, Dr E's office assistant called DW that the Dr is sorry and she will not be able to see her again (cos she is busy) and that DW should get another doctor (she actually gave DW some doctor's phone number). DW was disappointed and felt bad. Why keeping her waiting if Dr E knows she is so busy and won't take her in? I personally felt betrayed because we have being engaging her since November last year, why waste her two weeks sitting doing nothing in Houston and accumulating accommodation bill. Now DW is closer to her EDD and had to start the process all over.

We started the process again, got another doctor (off course, more expensive because we don't have more time on our hands as DW is approaching week 35 already). We are also paying more for hospital, running some more test etc. This is actually killing, especially because we got dollar when it was above N500.

In summary, I guess Dr E has so many patients and very busy. I agree with that but I just felt bad that she should have informed us earlier. If you are using Dr E, please make sure you follow up on her and probably have an alternative ready.

Wishing you all success in this mission to give our kids OPTION in life.

Good people of Nairaland,

Thank you all for the wonderful contributions to this thread. I am sure we are learning one thing or the other. How I wish I know about info like this earlier, guess I would have done a lot of things differently. My DW embarked on a missionary journey to Houston, so I wish to share her POE experience. She left aboard a Turkish airline and landed around 7:30pm Houston time and below is her encounter with the CBP officer.

CBP: Good evening, may I have your passport
DW: Evening madam, here please (extending her hand to hand over her passport)
CBP: Why are you here?
DW: To have my baby
CBP: Looked up, frowned her face and murmur something like "why are many people coming to have baby in the US lately?" (at this level, DW said she almost passed out because the same woman has sent 4 of the last 6 people who she attended to for second interrogation/screening)
DW: Kept mute as though she didn't hear what the woman said.
CBP: Any Doctor's correspondence?
DW: Quickly forward the appointment letter from Dr. E
CBP: Threw the letter aside and said this is unacceptable. Any other correspondence? DW started scrambling through the envelop with her to get out the mail exchange between her and the doctor. Then the CBP said, just bring the whole envelop. She collected the envelop, remove all the documents and started looking one after the other. She saw my DW's mail exchange with the doctor, read through it, read through the change of intent letter, my own documents such as bank statement, she looked at the bank statement from page to page, read our Nigerian's doctor's letter and started the questions again.
CBP: How much cash did u have with you?
DW: $$$$$ and have more money in my card (brought the cards)
CBP: Who is responsible for your bills
DW: My husband
CBP: Where is your husband working?
DW: Bla bla bank
CBP: If you are having an elective CS, how come nobody accompany you? Why is your husband not coming with you? (CS was stated in the doctor's correspondence)
DW: My husband is busy at work as well as taking care of the children but he will join me later towards my EDD
CBP: Will your husband be coming? U need to confirm that
DW: Yes please
CBP: Looked at Nigerian doctor's letter again and said, Oh! Your doctor recommend quality medical for you
DH: Yes
CBP: Make sure u pay all your bills and welcome to America
DW: Thank you

So she went to pick her luggage and zoom to town as a friend was already waiting for her.

My DW however have a challenge with Dr. E. I will come back to you on that.

Hi my people....
POE Experience.....
Houston is not smiling this time around if possible avoid it as my wife was delayed for 5hrs for secondary inspection. She told me they were many inadmissible passengers yesterday mainly whites, no regards for pregnant women and mother traveling with children. Her phone was seized for chatting with me, that they took many phones from passenger and they were asking people for email address n password.
Though her secondary interview lasted for 5mins but she was there for 5hrs waiting for her turn. The new era is here... Pls do not lie in your application.... Ireee ooooo

Hmmm. This is quite frightening. Has your wife been to the US before? What and what else was asked her? What airline did she use? Did anybody else have a recent POE experience? Please share, so that others can learn.

I have a Canadian visa I wish to confirm the genuinty of the visa because an agent processed it for me. Can I take it to the airport for possible verification, a friend told me is possible to fake a visa in Lagos.

Some aspect of visa application are DIY (do it yourself) like the submission, biometric (ie finger print, photograph etc) and physical visitation to VFS office. If you do all of these yourself, then your visa may be genuine but if you didn't, be rest assured that your visa is fake. Please be careful because most of the agents are fraudulent and that is why many people has advised that you do it yourself.
