Politics / Omisore Hails Rivers, Oyo Govts For Osun Workers' Salary Bail Out by olatunde1234: 7:35pm On Jul 26, 2014
Governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party in Osun State Senator Iyiola Omisore has commended the governors of Oyo, Ogun and Rivers states for helping Osun State pay its workers' July salary.
In a statement issued Friday Omisore described the bail out as a confirmation that the “outgoing governor” Rauf Aregbesola had mismanaged the resources of the state. This, Omisore noted, has resulted in the non-payment of the workers salary as an when due.
The statement was signed by Prince Duran Odeyemi, Director of Publicity and Strategy of the Omisore campaign organisation.
“We are aware the state government account is in the red due to huge debt servicing, unsustainable debt profile and capital flight in service of cronies.
“I commend the governors of Oyo, Rivers and Ogun states for being their brothers' keeper by extending millions of naira to the Osun state government to pay salaries of workers.
“We appreciate the gesture which for the first time enabled the outgoing governor of Osun state pay July salary before the end of the month. This is the first time the Aregbesola government would pay salaries of workers earlier than two to three months late”, observed Omisore..
“We note the embarrassment this unorthodox way of running state finance has plunged our state . Even key officials of the administration are facing charges over unexplained movement of cash as was the ongoing case of the Commissioner for Finance.
According to Omisore, “governance by borrowing is definitely unacceptable to the generality of our people”,
Wondering how long the state would survive on such handouts, ,Senator Omisore affirmed that a government that relies on donations to pay salaries can no longer be entrusted with power as it has lost all legitimacy and should be voted out of power by the voters.
“Even while we appreciate assistance of friendly governors to the embattled governor of Osun state ,it is clear that time is up for him as failure to judiciously manage state treasury is even a sufficient ground to voluntarily resign from office.
“If the governor (Aregbesola) will not resign, the votes of the people will send him packing come August 9,” predicted Omisore.
“I sympathize with workers in Osun State for the mismanagement of the entire public service . Our pledge to them is that their welfare will be on the critical list of our priorities. Never will Osun state depend on handouts to pay her workers .
“This shame on our state shall end “, the statement concluded.

Sports / Governor Ajimobi Appoint '103 Year Old Man As 3SC Chairman by olatunde1234: 8:38am On Jul 18, 2014
There has been an outcry in Ibadan following the alleged appointment of a man said to be 103 years old, Pa Samson Olayiwola Lakondoro as chairman of the board of Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan.
The governor Of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi had announced the appointment of a three man board to run the affairs of the club along with the management of the club headed by the General Manager, Rasheed Balogun.

The three-man committee is made up of the Chairman, Chief Lakondoro, Mrs. Bayo Beckley and Hon. O Peter.
But news from the Oyo State capital is that a cross section of supporters of the club are not happy with the governor over the appointment, as they are insisting that it is not good for the development and progress of the club.
Some supporters wondered why such an old man was named chairman, insisting that he will not contribute much to the progress of the team.

The two other members of the three man committee also came under attack from the supporters.
The new Chairman, Chief Lakondoro has allegedly never been an active sport person or managed any sports outfit before now, Mrs. Beckley, apart being the wife of the late former Chairman of Oyo State Sports Council is also said not to have a proven football management skill such sensitive job required.

Entertainment / Terry G Is ANGRY: “I Wasn’t Stoned On Stage” | Find Out Why! by olatunde1234: 11:06am On Jan 04, 2014
Terry G is shutting down rumours that he was injured when he recently took to the stage to perform.
The Nigerian music star was billed to perform alongsideIce PrinceandJ Martinsat the IBB Square, Malkurdi, Benue for a show.
After Ice Prince wowed the crowd, it was time for the always energized performer to rock the stage.
According to his publicist, after he performed his songs –Free MadnessandAkpako Bombom, the anxious fans at the event were already crossing the barricade erected by the security officials.
But by the time he delivered a fan favourite –Halleluyah, his overzealous fans who clearly love him as an indigene of the state, trooped to the stage and efforts by the security personnel to push them back resulted in a very physical protest.
While the security continued to hit the protesting crowd, they responded by throwing objects back at them. This immediately prompted organizers of the event, to move Terry G, his crew and the other artistes from the scene.
Due to this, J Martins couldn’t perform.
“It is simply impossible for my fans, not even in my state where I’m being treated like a King to throw stones at me or chase me out of the stage, it’s not realistic. The problem was purely between the security guys and the audience, but for security reasons, I and the other artistes have to be taken out of the scene. Whoever is spreading the rumour that I was stoned is simply ignorant of what happened.”Terry G revealed

Nairaland / General / Flying Object Crashes Into Home In Ibadan by olatunde1234: 9:16am On Dec 29, 2013
A
mysterious
spacecraft, which
residents of
Awotan in Ido
Local Government
Area of Oyo State
called a “drone”,
was reported to
have crashed into
a building at
Omiremi Quarters
in the community,
leaving a crater on
the roof of the
building, just as
aviation sources
confirmed the
object as a United
States’ drone on
an espionage
mission in Nigeria.
Considering the
registration
number, TX 5803,
inscribed on a
black battery
under the craft, a
source said the
space craft must
have taken off
from NASA base in
Texas in the US,
stating that the
battery attached
to the spacecraft
powered it and
enabled it to move
around so that it
could do the
bidding of those
who sent it.
Though many
aviation sources
told Sunday
Tribune that the
object could be a
device used in
espionage,
another source,
however, believed
that the craft was
a “nondescript
aviation device”.
It will be recalled
that the United
States of America
has, in recent
times, come under
attack by other
countries for
spying on their
activities which
may have
confirmed the
discovery of the
spacecraft in
Ibadan.
The craft, which
was said to have
dropped down
from the orbit,
flew into a toilet in
the house of
Ashipa of Awotan,
Chief Tajudeen
Adetoro, a few
minutes after his
grandson, Afeez
Adewale and
daughter-in-law,
Adikat, left the
toilet where they
had gone to
answer the call of
nature.
According to Chief
Adetoro, the
mysterious
aircraft forced
itself into the
toilet through the
roof making
deafening sound,
saying it could
have killed Afeez
and his mother, if
it had met them in
the toilet.
The spacecraft,
with a product
number QR X30,
has four stands
and a rounded
compartment
housing its engine.
It has a dry cell
battery, USB drive,
a censor and
cables, while each
of its stands has a
two-way roving
fan mounted on
them.
The residents of
the sleepy
community told
Sunday Tribune
that the object
was not a toy due
to the fearful
noise it made and
the way it flew
about, adding that
it could be an
explosive.
“When it flew out,
we rushed after it
and it was found
hanging on the
antennae of our
neighbour…making
a terrible noise
and emitting
heavy smoke,”
Chief Adetoro
narrated.
He said they ran
for safety on
hearing the loud
bang made on the
roof of their house
only to discover
that the object
had entered the
toilet hitting its
wall in an attempt
to exit.
Information
obtained about
the object from
the internet
revealed that it
shares similarities
with a device
called Walkera QR
X350 GPS which is
sold for roughly $
500.
Though the
product
description on it is
not intelligible,
Sunday Tribune
learnt that it could
be a remote-
controlled
transmitter that
gives no signal
when in the air,
but which is used
for gathering
information.
[Chief Tajudeen
Adetoro, owner of
the building] How
flying object
crashed into
building in Ibadan
Mother, son
escaped death
It is almost
unbeliavebale, but
it is real. A drone-
like object fell
from the sky on
the roof of a
house in Ibadan
last Sunday
shattering the
roof of the house.
MARUF BELLO
writes that luck
saved a mother
and her son from
being killed by the
object.
FOR Afeez
Adewale, a 16-
year-old boy,
sheer luck saved
him and Adikat, his
mother, from being
sent to their early
graves a few
minutes after they
left the toilet in
their house, last
Sunday, at
Omiremi Quarters,
Awotan, Ibadan.
Afeez had gone to
the toilet to
answer the call of
nature not long
after his mother
had come out of
the same toilet
only to hear a loud
bang on the roof
of their house,
specifically the
toilet.
The object was
said to have
forcefully fallen on
the roof of the
toilet breaking
through and
shattering its
asbestos.
According to the
Asipa of Awotan
and landlord of the
house, Chief
Tajudeen Adetoro,
it wasn’t long
after Afeez and
his mother left the
rest room when
they suddenly
heard a
frightening sound
on the roof of the
toilet.
Chief Adetoro, who
is Afeez’s
grandfather, said
it was God that
saved the mother
and son, saying
the source of the
drone-like object
was unknown.
“We were in panic;
we were almost
dead when we
heard the sound
suddenly and all of
us scampered for
safety. It was
after a few
minutes that we
thought that
hiding in the house
was not the
solution but to
find a way to get
the object out of
our house due to
the horrible and
disturbing noise it
was making that
my son and I
fearfully moved to
the scene to know
what it was.
“When we got
there, we stood a
little away looking
at it from a short
distance. It was
then we saw it
clearly and it was
seriously
struggling making
a frightening noise
in its bid to find an
escape route. As it
was struggling, it
was hitting every
angle of the toilet
walls forcefully
shrieking and
trying to exit the
toilet.
“It was during the
struggle that it
escaped through
the same point it
gained entry.
When it flew out,
we rushed after it
and it was found
hanging on the
antenna of our
neighbour. It hung
there making a
terrible noise and
emitting heavy
smoke. I think in
the process of
struggle to get it
out, it lost one of
its components, a
stand. I asked my
son to climb the
facial board to
remove it.
“When he brought
it down, it was
heavy and there
were so many red
illuminating lights
all over it blinking
every second,” the
chief narrated.
[The roof of the
toilet] He said
when the material
had been removed
from where it was
stuck so that they
could examine it
thoroughly, the
object repeatedly
tried to fly away.
“It was then I
asked my son to
remove some of
its compartments
to render it
inactive. We
removed the
battery, its censor,
among others. At
that time,
everybody in the
neighbourhood
had gathered to
see the wonderful
object,” he added.
Chief Adetoro said
they initially
thought it was a
mere toy but after
a close look, it was
discovered that
“the material could
be a bomb, more
so that ever since
we captured and
incapacitated it
nobody had come
looking for it
because we
initially felt that it
was one of the
toys parents
bought for their
children for
Christmas and New
Year.
“Also, when we
considered the
manner with which
it got in and
exited, we felt
that the object
was being
monitored and
controlled from
somewhere. After
careful
consideration and
examination of
the compartments
of the object we
thought it could be
an explosive.
“When nobody
from this
community came
to claim it, we
concluded that the
object was more
than what we
thought it to be; it
must have
travelled a long
distance,” Afeez’s
father said.
The Chief Imam of
Awotan Central
Mosque, Sheik
Abdulai Adesina,
and a woman who
are both
neighbours of
Chief Adetoro
confirmed the
incident, saying
“the sound of the
object was highly
terrifying and
fearful.”
When the object
was examined, it is
made up of
components such
as a dry cell
battery, a censor
housed by a white
case, a USB
(memory card)
drive and a panel
that is well cased
as well as lots of
cables.
According to Chief
Adetoro, the
community had
informed security
agents about the
incident and called
for investigation
on it, noting that if
left unravelled, it
would be difficult
to douse tension
and erase fear
among the
residents of the
community who
now believed that
they were being
targeted for
attacks.
The object,
Sunday Tribune
investigation
revealed, has since
been handed over
to security
operatives.

Entertainment / Illuminati: History, Meaning, Conspiracy, Members And Facts by olatunde1234: 8:33pm On Dec 08, 2013
The meaning
behind the word
Illuminati comes
from the Latin
coined term
meaning
illuminatus. The
word illuminatus
then translates
into “enlightened”
which was what
the group first
started out as.
They hoped to
enlighten mankind
about the truths
behind everyday
items. There have
been many rumors
and questions
going around
about the
Illuminati and
hopefully some of
the below
information will be
able to help
anyone realize
what the Illuminati
group is all about,
who they are
including their
history, facts
and
conspiracies .
People who are
members of the
Illuminati can be
found on many
different walks of
life and although
some try to keep
themselves as
hidden as possible
there are a few
who flaunt their
membership in this
group.
Illuminati: The
History, Members
and Conspiracy
Illuminati
History
The prehistoric
origin of Illuminati
traces back
thousands of
years following a
genetic cross-
breeding between
the human race
and reptilian
extraterrestrial
beings
however the
modern Illuminati
group was
founded on the
first of May, 1776
which was the
same year that
America became
independent. It
was formed by a
man named Adam
Weishaupt who
was a German
citizen of the city
of Bavaria. After
it was founded,
their number grew
substantially from
the original five
that were the first
elite foundation
members and
increased to over
two thousand
Illuminati members
that joined over a
period of 10 years,
spreading out all
across the world,
but mostly
concentrated in
Europe. These
early Illuminati
members included
prominent and
literary men such
as Johann
Wolfgang von
Goethe and
Johann Gottfried
Herder who were
well known
novelist and
philosopher
respectively, in
those times. Also
part of the group
were the reigning
dukes of Gotha
and Weimar. Their
acclaimed main
purpose of
existence was to
stand against
religious influence
over people’s lives,
oppose
superstition,
prejudice and
incessant abuses
of state power.
Also part of their
original agenda
was to support
and booster
women’s
education,
influence and
encourage gender
equality all for
which it was
initially planned to
bear
“Perfectibilists” as
the name of the
group however, in
many peoples’
opinion including
scholars, this may
have been the
original plan but is
recently very far
from their current
agenda and
conspiracy.
The Illuminati
faced massive
opposition and
challenges when
the Bavarian
government was
changed in 1777
which saw Karl
Theodor became
the ruler. He
banned all secret
societies including
the Illuminati,
forcing their
founder to flee
while the home of
the second in
command (Von
Zwack) was
searched and
much of the
group’s articles
retrieved.
Illuminati
Conspiracy
Theory
Between 1797 and
1820, there were
several
publications citing
that Illuminati had
survived the
dismantling
initiated by the
Bavarian
government and
had spread and
became more
established and
was deeply
involved in a
dangerous
international
conspiracy to
subject the entire
world to a one
world government
referred to as the
new world order
while in the
process,
subjugating all
religions and
governments.
They wanted to
do this by having
people in their
organization into
positions that help
power and
influence which
could help them to
reach their final
goals. As part of
Weishaupt’s
master-plan
, 1st of May 1776
which is still
celebrated today
as May Day in
some communist
countries was
meant to be a day
of actualizing the
plan of
establishing a one
world government
but since this
failed, the plan
had continued.
Part of notable
events attributed
to the Illuminati in
the pursuit of their
goals was the
initiation of the
French Revolution
and Napoleonic
wars to destroy
the French Empire
and the
Revolutionary war
which was ignited
to weaken the
British Empire as
these 2 were more
like the world
powers at those
times.
It is also widely
believed that the
Illuminati sought
various ways and
adopted highly
sophisticated
strategies to use
such wars and high
levels of
animosity, mostly
between various
European
countries to
propose the
Congress of
Vienna which was
meant to be as an
avenue to
“resolve to pursue
peaceful
international
relationship” with
a hidden agenda
to project the new
world order to
become a
acceptable means
of “peaceful co-
habitation”. This
was proposed in
the form of
“League of
Nations”
However, Russia
wasn’t supportive
putting them right
on top of
Illuminati’s black
book.
Also as part of
Illuminati’s
conspiracy theory,
the group have
achieved a tight
control of the
World’s economy
through the
International
bankers and
hopes to use this
to subject and
steer the world’s
economy and
power to
whichever
direction they
want. They are
acclaimed to have
steered and use
Karl Marx’s
manifesto and Karl
Ritter’s anti-thesis
towards
brainwashing and
initiating an
opposing division
of the human race
with the aim of
facilitating
destruction of
each other
through
oppositions and
wars.
Illuminati
conspiracy
theories also
include the fact
that there was a
blueprint for 3
successive world
wars that would
last through the
20th century while
the group was
under the
leadership of
Albert Pike. This
plan is meant to
lead to a the new
world order (one
world
government) by
the end of the
20th century.
According to the
plan, the First
World War was
initiated and
fought with the
aim to destroy
Czarism in Russia:
reason being that
since Russia
wasn’t supportive
of the formerly
proposed League
of Nation that
would have seen
the Illuminati’s
plans for a one
world government
stand, they are
better divided,
weakened and
established as a
stronghold of
Communism.
Likewise, the
Illuminati also
takes credit for
the Second World
War which was
orchestrated to
stand Fascists
against the
“political Zionists”
with the purpose
of building up
Communism on an
international scale
to match that of
the United
Christendom. The
final plan has
always been to
initiate the Third
World War, which
would be fought
between the
political Zionists
and the leaders of
the Muslim
community. This
according to them
will be like no
other war that has
ever been fought
and finally
resulting in the
international
community
seeking for peace
in a one world
government which
would be the new
world order.
Illuminati
Members
Usually the rich
and powerful are
said to be
members of this
elite group. In fact
some of the more
popular brands,
companies, and
individuals are said
to be associated
with the Illuminati
group. Aside from
the political and
“formal elite”
ambitions,
Illuminati is
associated with
being a secret cult
and although
there can be lots
of information
found online or in
libraries about this
cult, it should be
known that most
of Illuminati’s
secrets are kept
quietly within the
group. Many
people believe
that the Illuminati
will not stop at
anything to
achieve their
goals. Some of the
things that they
are believed to be
doing include
blackmailing, using
terror tactics,
witchcraft, and
other more
menacing
strategies to
propagate their
plan. Many famous
people including
Beyonce, Lady
Gaga, Michael
Jackson, Britney
Spears, George W
Bush Jr, Kanye
West and Lil
Wayne are
considered to be
Illuminati
members. In
essence, there are
a number of
powerful and
important people
who are in the
Illuminati that
have an everyday
influence over
people’s lives.
Illuminati
Symbols and
Signs
There are several
devilish symbols
and attributions
associated with
the group and
members are said
to be ordered to
revere the devil
and his associates
so that by
following those
terms, the
members must
than mock
anything God or
Jesus related.
Illuminati signs
and symbols have
been closely
associated with
the devil including
the 666,
baphomet, the
udjat, and the
zodiac symbols.
The udjat symbol
is also known as
the eye of horus
and has links with
freemasonry.
There is also the
symbol of an all
seeing eye; this
symbol is often
featured in a
triangle and can be
found on every
single dollar bill
that is currently in
circulation. The
Illuminati is said to
often use the
zodiac symbols,
which can be
considered
satanic, and
commonly
disguises them as
simple horoscopes.
The inverted cross
of Nero, which is a
symbol identical to
the peace sign, is
said to be an
Illuminati sign
mocking the fact
that Jesus died on
the cross. The
symbol is an
upside down cross.
It became popular
after Nero
crucified Apostle
Peter on the cross
upside down and
signifies the death
of a man. Another
commonly seen
symbol used is the
sun wheel symbol
or the swastika,
which are the
same symbol.
We live in a very
much
sophisticated
world where it is
not advisable to
believe every
superficial story as
they are told.
Take note of all
the different
myths, stories, and
other sub-cultural
information going
around because
you never know
what might
actually be true
and what
information may
not be accurate. In

Politics / Nelson Mandela Biography by olatunde1234: 6:36pm On Dec 08, 2013
Nelson Rolihlahla
Mandela was born
into the Madiba
clan in Mvezo,
Transkei, on July
18, 1918, to
Nonqaphi
Nosekeni and
Nkosi
Mphakanyiswa
Gadla Mandela,
principal counsellor
to the Acting King
of the Thembu
people, Jongintaba
Dalindyebo. It was
during his primary
school days in
Qunu that his
teacher Miss
Mdingane gave
him the name
Nelson, which was
in accordance with
the custom to give
all school children
“Christian” names
existing at that
time. Mandela
completed his
Junior Certificate
at Clarkebury
Boarding Institute
and later went on
to attend
Healdtown, a
Wesleyan
secondary school
of some repute

He began studying
for an LLB at the
University of the
Witwatersrand. He
admitted that he
was a poor
student and left
the university in
1948 without
graduating. He
only started
studying again
through the
University of
London and also
did not complete
that degree. It
wasn’t until 1989,
while in the last
months of his
imprisonment, that
he obtained an
LLB through the
University of
South Africa.
Although Nelson
Mandela, was
increasingly
politically involved
from 1942, he only
joined the African
National Congress
in 1944 when he
helped formed the
ANC Youth League.
On 5 December
1955, Nelson
Mandela was
arrested in a
countrywide police
swoop of 156
activists which led
to the 1956
Treason Trial, he
was eventually
acquitted but on
21 March 1960
police killed 69
unarmed people in
a protest at
Sharpeville
against the pass
laws and Nelson
Mandela together
with his colleagues
in the Treason
Trial were among
the thousands
detained during
the state of
emergency. It was
during the trial on
14 June 1958 that
he married a social
worker Winnie
Madikizela. They
had two
daughters Zenani
and Zindziswa and
later divorced in
1996.
In October 1963
Nelson Mandela
together with nine
others went on
trial for sabotage
in what became
known as the
Rivonia Trial. While
Facing the death
penalty, he made a
famous ‘Speech
from the Dock’ on
20 April 1964, a
speech that will
always be
remembered
“I have fought
against white
domination, and I
have fought
against black
domination. I have
cherished the ideal
of a democratic
and free society in
which all persons
live together in
harmony and with
equal
opportunities. It is
an ideal which I
hope to live for
and to achieve.
But if needs be, it
is an ideal for
which I am
prepared to die.”
On 11 June 1964
Nelson Mandela
and seven others
accused Walter
Sisulu, Ahmed
Kathrada, Govan
Mbeki, Raymond
Mhlaba, Denis
Goldberg, Elias
Motsoaledi and
Andrew Mlangeni
were convicted
and sentenced to
life imprisonment
the next day.
Denis Goldberg
was sent to
Pretoria Prison
because he was
white while the
rest were sent to
Robben Island. His
mother died in
1968 and his
eldest son Thembi
died in 1969 but he
was not allowed to
attend their
funerals.
On 10 May 1994
following talks to
end white minority
rule and in 1991
after he was
elected ANC
President, Nelson
Mandela was
inaugurated South
Africa’s first
democratically
elected President
and on his 80th
birthday in 1998
he married Graça
Machel, his third
wife. Nelson
Mandela stepped
down in 1999 after
one term as
President just
exactly as he
promised,
Mr Mandela never
wavered in his
commitment to
democracy,
equality, fairness,
justice, peace and
learning.
Eventhough he
was provoked
terribly, he never
replied racism with
racism. Nelson
Mandela’s life is an
inspiration to all
who are
oppressed and
deprived and
opposed, Nelson
Mandela died on
Thursday, 5th
December 2013
but his memory
still lives on and
will always be
remembered
