OlowoB come and see what you predicted.

Sorry I responded to your mention late. It is so unfortunate what has happened and will still happen. I don't know why any sensible person will support jungle justice. May God help us.

Thanks for the mention @kaziblake

Don't be ridiculous.

Go see your mother and also tell your brother to not be silly next time. Enter the wrong car?

You cannot understand until it actually happens to you. I know you also love outside naija, so it is easy for you to say that from afar. Peace.

And you had to use silly to pass your message across? May it be well with your brain.

Career / Re: Quitting My Bank Job And Travelling To Canada For MSC, The Right Move ?? by OlowoB(m): 7:45am On Jul 03, 2017
@TD4real

Try and go for MSC that will be at least 18 months and above and you can get extra 3 years visa to work in Canada and may even be apply for residency if you are lucky. Bank job is not that relatable, get an MSC, invite your lover over to Canada and then start a life there.

On the flip side, I think the reason you do not want to leave naija is cos of your lover.... my boryher think with your head o, don't use emotions. Secure your future.

Crime / Why I Will Never Support Jungle Justice - OlowoB by OlowoB(m): 6:47am On Jul 03, 2017
I decided to share this Cos my heart bleeds as a result of the jungle justice carried out in ikorodu in recent times. I do not support crime but I also stand against jungle justice (this is not the way to go). This is going to be a long read, please learn from a real life story.

My bro moved back to the country from the Uk after so many years with his family to kebbi state to start lecturing. This is someone who has been so passionate to come back home, telling me of how Nigeria will be a great country and there are lots of opportunities etc. He was just settling down in kebbi with his family and trying to adapt to his new environment when an incident happened.

If I remember clearly, I think it was on a Saturday in April this year, he left to the market to buy some things and he parked his Peugeot 406 just opposite the market to get some stuffs. After buying some things he rushed back to his car and opened the car and sat inside but he noticed something was strange. While trying to figure out what was wrong, a guy came to his side almost immediately and knocked on the window and told him to wind down and immediately my brother did this, the guy landed a slap on my brother and started calling him thief. While my brother was still trying to balance well due to the stars he was seeing, This guy, a tall man dragged him down and started beating him while other guys around quickly joined in. People just started beating him without asking questions (this was someone well dressed).

As God will have it, an elderly Hausa man just came from nowhere and said stop beating this man and let's hear him out first, I thank goodness the guys beating him obeyed and they stopped. My bro said he has a car also and showed his car keys as evidence. So the man collected the car keys from his hand and asked that he takes them to where his own car was (cos at this stage, he checked the initial car he entered and discovered they had similar colour, same car make, almost same plate number except for the last 2 letters and surprisingly his car keys could open another Peugeot 406).

It was while the elderly man was doing the investigation my brother now discovered that his car was parked just like 2 miles ahead of this other Peugeot 406. The elderly man confirmed and the guys who have been beating him all this while just said sorry and left.

Questions are? What would have happened if that elderly man had not turned up on time?
Hausas sometimes move around with daggers, what if they have used it on him? If they had killed him, they would have said he was a thief and people on Nairaland would have also said good riddance.

I would be coming on a short visit to naija this year and we have a family house in Ikorodu close to laspotech, infact close to mallo filling station opposite sawmill. With what his happening at the moment, I doubt if I can enter that zone (I don't want to wear short knickers around that zone now and they will say I am baddho and maybe get burnt... God forbid). Unfortunately I would not see my mother. I can bet it that ag least one innocent person must have been killed in that ikorodu jungle justice.

I also understand the pains of the affected families, relatives killed by badoo but jungle justice is NEVER the way to go. Please and please, the police should come out and do what they are paid for. God bless Nigeria, God bless Lagos state.

That POS procedure was actually the idea of his boss and those at the top.

There is lack of trust amongst the personnel. People posted at strategic places must remit and meet certain financial aka 'egunje' target.

The best way for them to monitor and make sure the every single kobo of the loot comes back to the DPO's table is POS.

Pos is for the DPO, cash at hand is for the boyz on the frontline.

You are an old time member of Nairaland and very knowledgeable (based on your past posts which i have read on here). I am surprised you also believe that clip it is well.

So xtain please keep hating but I'd like to tell you that your hating do no harm to we muslim, moreover in my department at school I don't give a damn to any xtain because i believe they hate me and i hate them too. So xtain if you want peace we can make it but if you want war we can declare it #im not afraid

Your post up there is scary and uncalled for, you should be better and not let the "enemy" bring out ye beast inyou. Now you are beginning to act like someone not educated (I thought you said you are in school?) why let few actions of some people on social media make you start generating uneccesary hate? I am Christian but I have lots of muslims as friends, even my cousins are muslims and majority of people in southwest have at least some members of their families as muslims. So chill with the hate and start showing love. Stop assuming every Christian hates you, show love and you will receive love.peace.

Thanks a lot @ OlowoB and Justwise. Sorry I had to ask questions that you've already answered on this forum. I went all the way back to start reading the questions and follow up answers. Found most of what I was looking for. Stressful, but well worth it.

If I happen to have any question not covered, will ask. @OlowoB, i'll be studying in London.

Thanks again.God bless you.

If London, then the money you will have to show for maintenance funds will be higher than other parts outside London. The money to show is on the first page of this thread.

You are welcome bros.

Good morning house,

Please I need your advice.
I intend going to the UK next year for my masters studies, and my friend is the one sponsoring me. Everything from tuition, accommodation, and all.

1. Heard if it's not a family member sponsoring you, that might be a problem. Is that true?

2. It's a one year program, how much do I need to have in my own account?

3. Do i need present a 6 months bank statement?

Please advise on how to proceed.

Thanks alot.

You are going for masters program so you should do more research independently most especially since the answers have been provided on the first page of this thread.

Let me help you with 1 and 3, find the answer to question 2 yourself, it is on the first page.

(1) use your parents account or your own account or legal guardian account. If your freind wants to help you, let him send the money to your own account.

(3) just a statement of account for 28 days of the required amount in your fathers name or your own account or legal guardians account name.(this depends on if you are studying in London or outside London)

Please note, if you use parents account, you must get a letter from your parents giving you access to use the funds and also birth certificate as proof of relationship.

This is what the school sent to me:
As an overseas student, please see below information regarding visas and English language tests:

Go to the government website https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa about student visas and read the information there. To study in the UK you will need to prove you have sufficient finance to cover your course fees, accommodation and living expenses. You will also need to pass an English Test. We ask that applicants obtain a 7.0 in IELTS. You will need to take this at an secure approved centre in your own country. This information is on the above Tier 4 website. As a college we are able to provide Tier 4 visa’s subject to relevant UKVI checks.
NB Dependents are not allowed on Tier 4 visas. Please also note, it takes at least 3 months to process a student visa, so you should apply before the end of June 2017.

on website https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa I found this:
3. Knowledge of English
You may need to prove your knowledge of the English language when you apply.

You can prove your knowledge of English by either:

passing an approved English language test with at least CEFR level B1 in reading, writing, speaking and listening
having an academic qualification that was taught in English and is recognised by UK NARIC as being equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD
You may be able to meet the English language requirement in other ways or need a higher level of English in some circumstances. Check the full visa guidance for detailed information.

I suppose it is accepted?

Yes it is accepted but I suggest you inform your school that it is NARIC you will be using cos your school has to validate and accept it.

Hi Justwise and everyone here.. Great job you guys are doing. Please someone should assist me in clarifying my thoughts on this. I applied to a college in london uk (Diploma in biblical and theological studies) but they requested for score an IELTS band of 7 for my ukvi purpose. I was informed by a friend to do NARIC English Assessment (if you don’t want to write the IELTS test and you are a graduate you can go through naric route by sending them your degree certificate (must be a 4 year course and above),Transcript and a letter from your school confirming you studied there and you were taught in English during the duration of your study and they will assess and give you a English level satisfactory letter.

Pls is this accepted both by the school and uk embassy?

Thanks and God bless u

Why not ask your admission or international department of your school this question? They would be in the best position to give you the right answer.

School requirements from schooo to school varies. Some accept NARIC, some schools dong even ask for IELTS depending on so many factors. Ask your school directly.

But, the average nigerian lacks this type of reasoning.

It is the reason why politicians have dealt with us badly.

Good day friends, as at this evening have not heard from UK embassy since January 9th that they sent an email that they have received my application. my latest arrival date is February 15th on my CAS...although the school as agreed to grant me late arrival. all my calls and emails enquiries to HGS was "application currently in progress"
Please is there anyone that has been granted visa after the latest arrival date on CAS.
what else can I do about this situation?
all advice welcome

You just need to calm down and yes it is still possible to be granted visas after latest arrival date cos you submitted a long time ago before that date. Finally please pray. Also after you collect your visa, when travelling, just make sure you get an email from your school to show them at immigration to make them know that your latest arrival date has been extended.

Since the 9th of January, that's strange.... was it priority visa you paid for?

The major problem most Nigerians always have is that they do not do detailed research before travelling out of the country.

Yes agreed, naija is not smiling but make sure that for any country visa you will be processing, you have done nothing less than 6 months research about that country and this research must be based on what you have read and directly from people who live there (those who have positive and negative things to say), infact make sure you also listen to the deportees of the particulate country you are headed grin you will learn from them, most especially if you are going there to HUSTLE.

At the end of the day even if turns out not to be what you have planned for, you would have been fully prepared mentally on what to expect. HUSTLING is not easy in any part of the world.

Finally, if you are in Nigeria and you are earning at least 80k monthly, I will advise that you do NOT move to any other country to HUSTLE unless it is USA, Canada or Australia and you must be sure of exactly what you are going to do there with SOLID plans.

Scammers just the way you are been used in Syria as neutral intermediary.

- Whose interest are you working for?
- When are you getting your aircraft to convey the balance?
- Have you been paid for this service?

Hopeless situation.... cry

I have said it before and I will say it again, if cos of your party affiliations or your hatred for Buhari, you are praying for naija not to ever prosper or witness anything good, then your dissapointment has just begun.

There is nothing you or your other brothers Who dislike buhari so much can do. It is either you support and pray for Nigeria or you will not be alive to witness it when naija eventually flows with milk and honey. The choice is yours.

In as much as I do not like the policies of Buhari, it will never make me wish Naija my country evil.

You only need what is written on your CAS to be submitted for visa application. If IELTS is not written on it, then no need.

house please what re the likely interview questions?

Just the basics like;

(1) Try to know your start and end of course date as stated on CAS and also duration of course.

(2) Name of university and course

(3) why you are studying the course,

(4) where would you be staying in UK?

(5) Your future plans after your program

(6) why did you chose to study in U.K. And why that school?

(7) how much is your fees and how much have you paid so far?

The questions are unlimited.

Just speak loud and clear and with confidence and you are good to go.

I would advise that you print it out the next day.

For example if the bank statement is exactly 28 days today, then you should print it out tomorrow.

Also, you can just carry out at least one transaction on the bank account so that it will reflect when printing out the statement.
