TV/Movies / Re: Tv Show In The 80's by omobana: 6:41am On Jun 01, 2011
No not Ghost Busters. Thanks though.

The show was not of ghost to create some kind of fear. It was more of an educative program with the ghost appearing and disappearing to assist some kids.

You know I cant remember it well. Those days as you know I watch shows/movies and I really dont understand whats going on.

All I know is ,
all of a sudden, the good man came in and they started fighting and he killed all of them. Men that guy was good he kicked one guy in the mouth, he gave on a karate punch to the chest, , (Watch many movies but dont know the name)

At least, this is me described. I dont know if other people were like that.
Programming / Re: Is There Any Chance That A Female Can Become A Very Good Programmer by omobana: 7:11pm On May 28, 2011
Yes a woman be a programmer but as it has been mentioned it can be addictive. It is also time consuming. Long days. Working weekends. Working after work hours. You are constantly programming.

My best advice is dont go into programming because you want to work for someone. Always have the zeal that one day you would design a breakthrough app.

Like hotmail, facebook, linkedin, and many other standalone softwares out there
TV/Movies / Tv Show In The 80's by omobana: 6:58pm On May 28, 2011
Please can anyone remind of the name of a TV show about these "two ghosts". One was not so good and was always dirty. The other was good and clean. There were some kids in the show too.

Thanks

Business / Business Ideas/investing by omobana: 3:41pm On Feb 26, 2009
Hi,

I have been thinking on what I can invest my money in for a while in but no luck. I have thought of farming in general, selling laptops, telecom, etc. But I cant seem to find what I should do.

I know it is up to me to decide and move forward but all my ideas have meet mainly discouraging advices. Please can some point me to a or some real business that can thrive in.

I am not interested in investing in stocks and I am not interested in money/business schemes. Show me the market and let me start trading.

I think that someone would ask how much do I have. Well I have put aside about 1 mil.

Please this is no MUGU. I worked hard to be able to save that much over the years so I am not going to part with it easily.

If I have to call you to learn how to make money dont bother. Bring your idea to the table if you sound interesting, I would move forward to get contact information.
Business / Re: Starting a Business (For The Entrepreneurs) by omobana: 9:32pm On Jan 29, 2009
I hope no one believes all these scam of making certain amount in certain number of days.

The only way to make a certain amount of money in a certain number of days is if someone is hiring you to do some work.

Dont fall for the scam. Look at this person and ask a simple question "Why are you still running around if you have a scheme for making money?"

Well his/her scheme of making money is to scam you.
Business / Re: Starting a Business (For The Entrepreneurs) by omobana: 6:30pm On Jan 28, 2009
I quickly went to check on the meaning of Enterpreneur and Businessman all I got was just more confusion. The most important thing here is we want to make money.

Apart from all the scholastic steps to starting a business which I still havent tried, the most important thing is finding a niche. The next thing is starting no matter how small.

From my little experience what kills many business ideas is thinking too big from the beginning. Even the biggest ventures out there today started small. The only difference is how long it takes to reach the top.

I started computer selling and repairs with nothing more than a screwdriver and CDs. Three years later I am doing business worth $10,000. This all started by helping family and friends for free. One day a friend said why dont you charge people since you spend time and effort.

Another complain I hear is the need for capital. It is true some capital is needed to start a business but like I said start small. Somewhere in this forum I read that it take about 3M Naira to start a fishing farm and at the same time some started with as little as 200K or less. A guy also started poultry with probably 50K by just buying 10 cockrels. Most important thing is start.

The good thing about starting no matter how small is you get to meet people. You have started something so you dont want it to fail --thus you start talking to people doing the same thing. This could lead to break through.

If you noticed, I said I now do business worth $10,000, this is all cash transactions (I dont deal with credit) which makes things harder. Like I said, I started with a screwdriver and some CDs and then part of my salary ($200-$300). One day, I meet this guy that I was about to buy some laptops from and we started talking. He then told me he could supply me as much as I wanted. I thought it was a joke. After about 3 to 4 transaction, we have built a relationship to the extent that this guy would give me product worth thousands of dollars with out me depositing anything.

So my people start no matter how small. I guess this is more of a testimonial
Technology Market / Laptop Wholesaler/retailer by omobana: 5:06pm On Jul 14, 2008
Before I start, NO 419s. Dont waste your minutes at the cafe because its not going to work. I would not ship to you. You would pick up in lagos and pay in lagos. CASH AND CARRY

I have being sending laptops mainly Dells (C600, C500, C640, C840, E1505, D600, D610, etc), in small quantities to Naija for a while now and selling for reasonable prices compared to the market price.

Prices sold to end users

Used Dell D600s:-  1.4ghz to 1.6ghz, 512 ram, 40gb hdd, cdrw/dvd,wireless--------55k
Barely Used Lenovo 3000 N100:- Duo core, 1.5gb ram, dvdrw, 80gb hdd, wireless, finger print, bluetooth -------75k
Brand New Sony Viao:- Duo core, 160gb hdd, 2gb ram, dvdrw, wireless, can't remember if bluetooth -----100k

Now, I am looking at going big. My target is not really at making lot of  profit on each laptop but turn over. The more I can sell the better. What this means is that I would be selling at way lower than market price basically to resellers.

Interested resellers, send your reasonable offer for the D600 laptops (specs as above). State quantity you want. Outrageous quantities would raise a red flag

When the time comes we would suffer big time. Not anybody else just Nigerians

Kenyans are dying in large numbers. Why? Fair election or not fair election. Fueled by who that is was actually not a fair election?

For the sake of protecting lifes why dont they say it was fair, but do they care? They are not the ones dying.

Dont worry Nigerians would soak the garri when it is there turn

This hate and poverty that is brewing right now in the country would make us kill each other like mosquito without looking back.
Religion / Re: Beards by omobana: 1:45am On Feb 29, 2008
And it getting worse.

I would let it be.

It is only a matter of time.

The table has turned am the Muslims are the ones dealing with it. It is going to turn again and I wonder who is next.

Remember Nigeria was named as one of the country on the Axle of Evil
Religion / Re: Beards by omobana: 11:03pm On Feb 28, 2008
And your attitude keeps getting worse by each post. I hope you dont send me some virus or something.

I keep on repeating it, you fail to look at the root of the problems

Out of all the countries you mentioned which one of them was not equiped by the WEST. Like I said go into history and you would see that the problem is bigger than what you seeing right now.

Most wanted Man in the world today was equiped and trained by the WEST. Saddam was equiped by the same people.

And talking of the other countries the WEST reminds them that they are different and then put arms in the hands of one group and sit and watch. And the stupid people who have lived relatively peaceful for centuries would no kill themselves left, right, and center.

Yea, Saddam was a treat to the world with his WMD --and when are the WMD today. Even the U.S. has agreed that they had info that Saddam never had WMD

Also, a relesae recently by the U.S. shows that Iran nuclear advancement is not towards weapons.

We are letting some group of people rule and guide us with fear tactics.

I think it is high time we all start thinking without bias. How can you or I trust someone that says "Iran is a treat to world because it is build weapons" and then later say "ok I made that part up, but Iran is still a treat to the world".

And you believe North Korea would actually halt the program yea right.

Who determines who is a world power? Quote me accurately ---I said if they are not considered a world power they are close.

As if I read the news below before I sent my last post

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/28/dems.view.abroad/index.html

" , and the rise of India and China as world powers, and the next president's plate is already full before the nominees have been officially decided." (CNN)

Dont worry its might be Nigeria next --maybe not Nigerians are too busy putting money their pockets than making the country a develop and flourishing land.

Sit and accept you condition no problem voice and who know were you would find yourself
Religion / Re: Beards by omobana: 7:08pm On Feb 28, 2008
Like I said I dont condone the acts of killing innocent people. If every Muslim had reacted violently then the world would be in a state of chaos right now. This are just pocket of people and moreover all this issues are political and has nothing to do with religion.

As per referring to the posts in which I called you names, I did this intentionally to see your reaction. Sincerely, I was impressed in you and disappointed in myself at first but of course after your second or third post you started getting defensive and you started using words. It is OK by me and it is expected for anybody that has some sense of dignity to defend themselves. Now to what extent is another issue. Killing is not the solution but the truth is I started it.

First of all I dont know what gave you the impression that I am muslim.

The table is turning and right what is apparent is the Land of the Muslims. I dont really think you know what it feels like to be on the receiving end. Lets start from

Nigeria's Biafra War
Look at Kenya
Tutsi and Hutu
South Africa Apathied
The Crusade
Revolts of Blacks in USA
Civil war in America
Wars with Communist in the East

Just look into history. Today is the Muslim's turn. Tomorrow it can be anybody. No power wants to see any other potient competition thus nip it in the butt before it gets out of hand

Iran is threatened and punished by the world for its effort to develop a nuclear whatever but not only is North Korea doing the same they are testing the technology. You know why North Korea cant be treated the same way --simple North Korea is already world power and if we say they are not they are close.
Religion / Re: Beards by omobana: 6:21pm On Feb 28, 2008
What truth have you brought. You push someones buttons, he reacts and you label him. How come? You started it.

Even the cartoons that in Holland that you are talking about, the guy himself said he didnt know it was going to stir such violence. Thus he knew he was going to upset some people and they were going to react.

Dont take is personal thats just what I think about you. Cos you I dont see any reason with all you analogies. They are ridiculous naive and stupid.

Lets face the fact more than likely this incidences that we have occured around the world would not have happened if they left alone.
Religion / Re: Beards by omobana: 6:07pm On Feb 28, 2008
I would like not to stoop low to your level because it is obvious that you are stupid and senseless. I am probably wasting my time with some rif raf and a cyber cafe in Ojuelgba.

From the little discussion it is obvious that you are you applying your common sense. Ooops! I dont think you have one.

Maybe you should talk to someone else not someone that think crooked like you and see if they can make some sense to you
Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Muslim Men Wear Long Beards? by omobana: 6:02pm On Feb 28, 2008
So is this the issue or there is more. If this is the issue then I would say it is unfortunate that the man was killed by some lawless ignorant people. And I hope they are caught and dealt with accordingly. But why would a person want to ridicule another? What is the gain? You know it would upset the person and he would more than lightly act irrationally.

If I ridicule your mother what would you do? And you might say this is just a Prophet to this people but remember the love this person

Why would anyone kill himself because he is being ridiculed? I dont know where you are but where I am right now there is report of killing themselve because of ricules from peer nearly everyweek.

Looking at the shooting at Virginia Tech and the University in Illinos are these Muslim?

Or is it the girl that protected here mother who is a school bus driver when one of the students was being rude

I dont condone all the killings.

You know this famous saying there is no smoke without a fire.
Religion / Re: Beards by omobana: 5:45pm On Feb 28, 2008
So why are people whining and dining about the fact that someone wants to grow his beards even if he believe it make him closer to God. Let him grow his beards --his face right?
Islam for Muslims / Re: Why Do Muslim Men Wear Long Beards? by omobana: 5:40pm On Feb 28, 2008
Try an act like an intellect for a minute (maybe thats not long enough time who knows).

Of what benefit is it to you if you make fun of others?

Is this some kind of envy?

What is it that just wants you to talk about them wasting you time? ----Unless you have nothing better to do.

You know your ridicule towards any group could stir disorder and you take pleasure in it?

If you have a problem bring it up --just dont hate because someone is different.

If you have no authentic allegations then I would conclude that you are envious or arrogant which gives you a sense of security.

Well the Muslims are not the one dwelling on the issue of beards are they?

I only paralleled it to Jesus Christ and other Prophets (May the peace of God be with them)  because part of the issues people have gainst Muslims is because they grow their beards. If you think the beards is guffy, funny, or whatever you want to think, then look at the one that brought the message to you. DO YOU THINK THE SAME OF HIM?

I guess the issue is not the beards. There is a major reason for all the enimity towards the Muslims (beard is just an attachment --I guess for ridicle).

What is the problem? What is the burning issue? Step to the plate and face the real issue.

Going around saying this people did this or did that does not fly because that holds for all groups --there are some bad eggs/ignorant people in every group.

So why do we whine and complain about people that want to grow theirs nowaday? Why sit and talk about it all day?

@ 4HIM

Well I guess the Orthodox religious people still wear robes. When it comes to religious obligations these people look and act more closer to the people that brought the message.

What we ride does not really have anything to do with the religion
Religion / Beards by omobana: 4:27pm On Feb 28, 2008
I hear and see people complaining that Muslim grow their beards.

Have we ever wondered or considered or thought of the fact that Jesus Christ had beards?

So did other prophets of God, orthodox christian , orthodox jews, orthodox , etc

And who does more wrong than the one who invents a lie against Allâh, while he is being invited to Islâm? And Allâh guides not the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers)

They intend to put out the Light of Allâh (i.e. the religion of Islâm, this Qur'ân, and Prophet Muhammad SAW) with their mouths. But Allâh will complete His Light even though the disbelievers hate (it).

I know this kind of old but the beard is to distinguish between the Muslims and non-Muslims.

Food for thought

WHY DOES JESUS CHRIST HAVE A BEARD? Explain

I guess he wasnt the only one check all the Prophet and Messengers of God
