determined - I have never been to shoprite, and this may come as a shock to you, but not everyone has. And living outside Naija it would take me a LOT longer to get there than you.
However I don't believe everything they sell there would be attractive to buyers if it where sold online. For instance, I'd have no trouble buying a tv or an mp3 player online, but when it come to shoes and clothes, I would much rather try them on first. That's just my preference.

What's yours??

Meeeeen! Akinalabi, you're just on point.

I believe if everything is well organized and they can start with maybe VI, they'll know how far to take it in a couple of months. After all, they (Shoprite) plans to expand to about 12 other places in Lagos.

Personally, I would shop online if I could.

And what would you be willing to buy if you could shop online?
Business / Delivery Of Goods In Nigeria by OneInTown: 1:36pm On Mar 20, 2009
Hello my fellow entrepreneurs, I need a little advise.
I am looking to develop and launch a startup web site in Nigeria to sell mobile phone handsets and accessories.
We are in the process of negotiating payment gateways (Interswitch) and so forth BUT the area that is giving us some concern is on the delivery of the purchased items to the customer. Can anyone tell me what the delivery network is currently like in Nigeria for small items like phones - especially in terms of costs and reliability.

Much Appreciated,

One.
