surely that doesnt have any relevance to the original question? yes I am Nigerian. However, I am white. And if a black man can rule the western world. surely a white nigerian can find some pesto, ?
Car Talk / Re: Is It Safe To Stick Stickers On Your Car? by Operation(m): 7:27am On Mar 19, 2011
It shouldn't be so bad on black, Just don't go for the cheapest stickers, because they might not last as long. If its something you really want to do then go for it. Are you in Nigeria? don't recognise the number plate. Large stickers will also attract attention, which is probably best avoided.

one more smiley His website is http://www.stuckincustoms.com/

He has a free tutorial which explains most of the fundamentals. Very useful, since I know so many of you are going to want to have a go, all you need is a camera which has an auto-bracketing function

Well for those of you who are apprehensive I've found a few of my favourite HDR Photographs from the guy who's work got me into HDR Trey Ratcliff.

Art, Graphics & Video / Re: Hdr! by Operation(m): 5:16am On Mar 19, 2011
HDR makes such simple subjects so much more interesting. I now need to get out when I have some time and take some photos of Lagos to see how they come out.

Art, Graphics & Video / Re: Hdr! by Operation(m): 5:14am On Mar 19, 2011
Some more. I love the extra depth in detail and amazingly vivid colours that you get.

Soooo I did a quick search for "HDR" and it returned nothing that I was looking for, This is currently one of my favourite types of photography. I have a quick explanation which I nabbed from Wikipedia I believe.

"In image processing, computer graphics, and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI or just HDR) is a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminance between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than current standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wide dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight."

---- Now basically you set up your camera to take 3 photos straight after each other of the same subject but with varying exposures. Simple. I bought myself a new camera (canon EOS 500D) on for my birthday (which was in January - happy birthday Operation I hear you say).
So I tried my first ever HDR shots which I will now share with you. I used Photomatix to combine the 3 images and tone map them. Then I exported them to Photoshop CS5 for a small tidy up.

These are photos of bark at my house in Togo. (Yes I have a house in Togo, lol)

Art, Graphics & Video / Re: How To Smoothing Face And Skin In Photoshop 8? by Operation(m): 4:47am On Mar 19, 2011
I'm not sure about PS8 i have CS5. The simplest way to do this is to open you image, then in the layers panel, duplicate the background image. Now go to filters and select a blur which works well. Either Surface blur or gaussian blur. Blur the copied image, not too much dont worry about the clothes etc just look at the skin. Now when you have done that, create a layer mask on that blurred layer, and select the mask then press ctrl + I this will invert the mask and make the layer disappear. Now select the brush tool, press D on the key board to set the foreground and background to default. (black and white or vice versa) and start to paint the blur back on to the skin. when this done, just adjust the opacity of the layer on the top of the layers panel so the bluring isnt too much and u should have some nice smooth skin if you took your time and did it right!!
Travel / Re: Are You Having Troubles Getting A Business Visa To Any County Of Your Choice? by Operation(m): 4:29am On Mar 19, 2011
I've got over 10 Nigerian visas in my passport - and every time i try to renew my current one or get a new one its always a massive problem, and who ever is doing it is suddenly surprised that i want a visa. The price seems to keep changing, sometimes they won't issue one within the country, and I have to physically leave, other times they will. Why is it so difficult, expensive and inefficient? I wouldn't mind so much if there were clear guide lines that everyone sticks to, but this isn't the case. Which I'm sure isn't a shock to most people.
Food / Re: Pesto! Where Is It!? by Operation(m): 4:18am On Mar 19, 2011
That would be one solution. I think it might entail a lot of work, and removes one of pestos largest appeals - its simplicity and speed

2 more bad boys. The girl took over 5 hours of work, and most of the parts are from a rocket and jet engine.

All of the above is fictional as well, lol
Art, Graphics & Video / Giraffeo Longus Bipedalialy by Operation(m): 4:00am On Mar 19, 2011
Thought I would share this with you guys - something I did a few years ago. It was for a competition - can't remember for sure,
However there is something fundamentally wrong with this (Ill put it in a reply - see if you can figure it out )

A long time ago, when the majority of the worlds human inhabitants believed that the world was flat, there was birthed another incorrect theorum. The truth only know to a few.

This animal, Giraffeo Longus Bipedalialy, or the two legged giraffe, was believed to be an intirely different and unique species. Beharry stated in 1798 that "this creature is infact more closely related to humans than its giraffe counterparts due to the shared form of terrestial locomotion, walking upright on two legs".

In 1944 towards the end of the second world war and before the Nazi tyrant Adolf Hitler took his life it was rumoured that for his last meal he dined on giraffe forelegs.
British Scientists had been studying the remains ever since and in 2004 came to the conclusion that "Girafeo Longus Bipedalialy" was indeed not a close relative of humans but mearly a giraffe which had had its front legs harvested for casserole.

In 2005 the European Union banned the consumption of giraffe forelegs and removed the two legged giraffe from the species list.

3 two legged giraffes currently inhabit 2 zoo's on the island of Great Britain.

I also had a go at colouring, but aimed at trying to keep it as realistic looking as possible. I no its lame, but I chose the colours based on Wiz Khalifa - because he was playing at the time smiley

Black and Yellow
and
Purp and Yellow.

Art, Graphics & Video / Some Of The Operations Photomanipulations by Operation(m): 3:46am On Mar 19, 2011
Just a few things I did when I was supposed to be working, Don't ask me if I feel guilty because I don't. In fact my company gets me to doctor quite a lot of different things. Anyway that's another story.

I've been messing around on photo shop for a couple of years now, and found that once you have a firm grasp of the basics, the sky really is the limit.

Now, they are mostly self explanatory, apart from the black and white one, which I did as to show the possibilities for reconstruction. Not just repairing damaged images, but colouring them as well.

Art, Graphics & Video / Re: Photoshop On Windows 7 by Operation(m): 3:28am On Mar 19, 2011
The most important thing if you did buy it is the serial code. The actual data on the dvd's does not matter at all, as you can get it for free from almost anywhere. If you are having problems with the disc installation, just download the trail version from the web (it might take a while, ) and then you can use the serial that came with you copy to activate it. Or you can just use the 30day trial period and if you are feeling realy naughty crack it, worth a try.
Food / Pesto! Where Is It!? by Operation(m): 3:21am On Mar 19, 2011
Ladies, Gentlemen,

I've been on the quest for pesto since before Christmas, and I can't seem to find some anywhere. I've been to all the supermarkets in V.I, Ikoyi and even hustled out to spa in Lekki and nothing. I've not been to any markets, because I hate the heat and sweat like the nile. (sorry - but true.)
I have not had pesto for a long time, and I'm not a great cook either. I think its possibly one of the most useful sources ever invented. For those of you who are not yet acquainted with this funky green stuff, it's a paste made up of mainly basil and other greenishy herbs in olive oil.

If anyone has seen some around please let me know!!

Car Talk / Re: Is It Safe To Stick Stickers On Your Car? by Operation(m): 3:01am On Mar 19, 2011
cute stickers, personally not my thing, but with patience and a bit of practice they can be applied well. Just a bit of a mission sorting out all of those air bubbles you get when your putting them on.

The only problem you might get is because of the sun, especially if its an older car where the paint is starting to fade, Putting the stickers on will protect the paint that they are stuck over, whilst the rest is free to fade, so come a couple of years when the vinyl is starting to look tatty and faded itself, upon removal you will notice that the paint underneath is a slightly different shade to the rest of the car. rather annoying.

The again, its up to you. People have different tastes, which I appreciate. The only thing I don't like is when things are not done correctly. Get the stickers installed properly and it will look half decent at the very least.
Autos / Re: Range Rover Spot For Sale by Operation(m): 2:52am On Mar 19, 2011
so any pictures or more details of this "Range Rover Spot For Sale"? I'm sorry but this is probably one of the most embarrassing and frankly useless for sale threads I've seen this month, shame on whoever calls this number.

Surely this forum could do with the moderators setting up 2 stickys, One showing a perfect example/template of what to include in a for sale thread, and one showing an example, SUCH AS THIS of how NOT to advertise your vehicle,
