The governor, who was an invitee at the official commissioning of the ten-classroom block built by the Anglican diocese, maintained that the diocese has immensely contributed to the development of the town as he lauds the brain that opined the existence of the diocese in Otan Ayegbaju. According to Aregbesola whose visit was acknowledged by a host of different community personalities led by Tokede Hakeem, a notable community leader, "Anglican church with this development cum the presence of Oke-Maria would make Otan Ayegbaju a Christian Spiritual Centre in years to come." In his speech titled "religion and education", the governor emphatically commended the religious achievements in the town claiming that the friendly temperature of the town is the attribute of the success streak. While delivering his speech, the governor called on individuals to ensure that their wards are educated against all odds stating that Africa is far behind Europe in terms of technology advancement due to the level of illiteracy. Who will bring Seun home? It is no longer a news that Seun Adeyemi had successfully won the battle on his kidney failure due to the ardent support of his father, who donated kidney, family, and well-meaning Nigerians who raised a financial aid to ease his medical tour to India. What has ever since remained news is the inability to return to his father land after his medical needs had been met in India. You will recall that the Punch Newspaper, published on 16 March, 2016 printed the story of one Mr. Peter Seun Adeyemi, who is suffering from Chronic Renal Failure (kidney failure) and need Nigerians for financial assistance to undergo a surgery abroad. Unfortunately, the medical attention required had been successfully met but Mr. Seun and his brother, Segun Adeyemi who serves as chaperon are both stranded in India due to inability to meet the financial obligation of 2,073,397 rupees (USD31,000/N10,000,000) as at 8 August 2016, to Global Hospital in India. In this light, we call on well-meaning Nigerians to rise up and rally round the 38-year-old Applied Chemical Scientist at this time of dire need as his visa and his brother's ditto has expired few months ago and he won't be discharged until the he had paid the medical bill. The pathetic part of the story is that, the bill keeps appreciating until succour comes. That is why we need you to rise now and #HelpSeun Segun Adeyemi, who is currently with Seun in India, can be reached on +918268696181 Thank you as you express your generosity and we pray that God will bless you richly and you will not have any cause to experience this kind of dilemma in life. MODERN TECHNOLOGY: NIGERIA'S OPTION OUT OF HERE Odudele John Ayodeji. We don’t need miracle before we improve our economy but we need to compare Venezuela, Greece and Japan before we could talk about how to change the issues battling with our economic difficulties. As I observed, modern technology is one of the solutions to Nigeria crisis at this time of economy recession, terrorist attacks and fierce rate of corruption. One of the solutions to bring back our economy is technology. Technology is a body of knowledge devoted to creating tools, processing actions and extracting of materials. We can conquer terrorism Nigeria as a country is well developed in terms of technology. Recession is known as a period of temporary economic decline during which trade and industrial activities are reduced, generally identified by a fall in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in two successive quarters. You should ask me how technology can help this situation. Japan economy was on recession around 2013 and 2014 and within a year to two Japan was among the first to third leading world’s economy. What’s the reason behind their success- is advanced technology. Mr. President, Nigeria needs technology; you can’t fight corruption without this. The youth nowadays will not practice agriculture the way it was practised in the ancient days. IMF and AfDB can’t bail us out. Venezuela has once been the country leading exporters of oil, they entered economic recession in 2015 but it has been surfacing since 2010 when there was increase in poverty, later led to malnutrition among children. Nigeria and Venezuela have almost the same issues but I pray Nigeria will soon be out of this mess. What makes Venezuela so poor? Is because their only source of revenue comes from oil, they are currently battling with food crisis. Agro-tech will help Nigeria a lot, if we can invest in it, all am talking about is technology. Greece and Venezuela lacks technology- there economy is yet to resurface. Nigeria lacks technology – what’s going to happen if we don’t invest in it. #MADEINNIGERIA – to achieve our aim with made in Nigeria project, don’t we need technology? Advanced technology countries never remain at the back. Change is required for every country in the world as time passes. |

UNIOSUN: Echoes from Jeremaid . SHADOW . Is the world built around wickedness or love? What could have prompted our parents to embrace the policy is still a point of debate, but one cannot live manipulation aside. Parents, who we think are still striving to pay rents. . What should we call this? love or love amiss. Whereas, they are the victims, but they don't happen to see things instead of putting an end to it, they called to sit to thrust our heart into the pit. . They stamped their heads with their feet forgetting the pain is for them to meet I begin to wonder the kind of parent committee we have. . When they don't see the future we carve. Maybe i need to go out of rhymes to make these people understand my lines. *OUT OF ANGER* Are you telling me that 50% of every single parent are in support of this ? Obviously, the answer is false. . Why are you now pouncing on our parents that survives mainly on two square-meal a day. For them now, sleepless night is sacrosanct. . The last resort which is the government, has now turned hopes down. Isn't this selfishness? When 10%elites are punishing the 90%average and poor parents. . I rarely see my father in a week. Infact, today is his birthday, but he had to put aside the fanfarity to fight and struggle to keep make ends meet for the family. I am very sure a parent in similar condition would not be in support of this. These are our situations. We can't afford pretence any longer.

Erin Iyangi: Groaning, suffering and smiling . By OYEDEJI Voices Oludayo . As the political classes (PDP and APC) cyber warriorlords were making internet attacks, counter-attacks and defending the visit of #PMB to the state, one thing held me from the lungs to the heart; it is about the chance of the oppressed and commoners who had remained at the receiving end of the killer policies that is gradually debilitating both the rich and the poor, to demonstrate their vexation in the very face of Baba. My expectations deadly failed me. . No reasonable individual would survey the huge turnout, ovation and accolades that saturated Buhari visit to Osogbo, the state’s capital, to commemorate the 25th year anniversary and commission some projects successfully constructed, built and completed by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, without going through some minutes of reasoning and sober severely in reflection of the future of this country. . For politicians, time to become self-appointed activist arises; PDP would be delighted in throwing fire and brimstone, painting the projects in a colour of utmost derision and, regrettably, fail to put in plain words how its party could have surpassed APC’s achievement. As for APC apologists, time to commence praise and worship as if we do not deserve better arrived. . But. In fact, a big BUT!, we the commoners should face ourselves to tell the blunt reality, for none of the political opportunists, careerists and praise-singers would tell us this. . The home rat do not need to run to its counterpart in the bush to report the level of lack, poverty and inadequacies bedevilling the country today due to its omnipresence (nationwide) nature, but one is disappointingly caught by surprise by the way a proverbial drunkard put aside his worries by clothing his head with palm wine guard (Omuti gbagbe ise...). As if nothing in Buhari’s government is taking its toll on the people already, the applause and cheers that received him is not worth it. How much would have bought so sycophantic accolades is still a question that dangles in my mind. . If Aregbesola or the APC patriots and sympathisers are to be frank and helpful, a message worthy of significance should be sent to Buhari through that platform. The president would have known that our ceiling is seriously burning and needs urgent attention. The physical, psychological and para-psychological body language should be demonstrated in Osogbo to summon the fear and attention of President Muhammadu Buhari to the groaning of the people. . It is high time we began to demonstrate to the political class our anger via such platform; Our physiological needs are not met desirably/ or at all (in popular cases); commodities in the market had become extremely exorbitant; sack is more popular than employment; poverty enraging people to break laws and orders cum the issues of Fulani herdsmen brutality, sentimental anti-corruption war (Burantai, Saraki and Dogara comes to mind) and extreme nepotism in appointments so far are alarming reasons. . If we can’t make obvious our bitterness in such platform, it is now clear to great minds that Nigeria would definitely suffer more and continues to smile until they are not merely driven aground but totally buried. History does not favour hypocrites like the commoners in Nigeria. Nigerian youths! Consider the past of better countries and wake from the deadly slumber.

DaBullit I am not in anyway your playmate; it is obvious you are looking for one. I am too busy to engage in a fight with a pig that gets happy whilst one gets dirty. Of course, I am more than that. You are too little to divert me for the major course, the only out of many I owe the oppressed whose creator will judge if you are right or wrong. Your loin would be surrounded by guilt unless you are doubting me for the sake of clarity, but if you a just playing with mischief on the matter that concerns the poor people of Osun, so be it. |

-Oyedeji Oludayo
.
Our future is littered with dirts -the carcass of goats,
dogs, hens and cats. The decayed leftover from the
table of the unsympathetic government is wiping
away the fragrance of scents coming from our bright
and promising future. Our bright day is fast
overtaken by cloud of bad luck eventuaated by
political principalities. With sordid situation we have
found ourselves here in Osun state where a month is
full of its own catastrophe and calamity. When the
motto has changed from the land of virtue into the
state of coma, a home of poverty, lack, oppression,
inadequacies and pestilence. A province where
financial backbone of many families had become
street hawking, prostitution, gambling and loan from
banks.
.
A state of one month, one trouble. Armed robbery
this month, rape next month, money ritual the
following, ridiculous allocation in the subsequent
one, suicide, divorce, half salary, debts and burden
had made all the months.
.
Despite the irresistible injuries inflicted on the
economy of the state by the current administration
orchestrated by unchecked spending and poor
foresight, the sycophants have, over the years,
overzealously rained riotous accolades on the
governor in their naivety or what could be inferred as
personal gain. The governor is a man, who pursues
his self-willed but illogical agenda with unparalleled
vigour, but nobody had dared questioned his utter
mismanagement of state's common wealth.
.
We run after his vehicles in social outing covering
our impotence with laughter, wielding brooms
around him to express support even when our
cerebral (organ of commonsense) brings to fore, the
calamitous and terrible fate the government had
brought us and our state's men into. We are political
contractors, who for the sake of money, irritably
echoes the unworthy song of sympathy in support of
politicians that inflicts debts and deaths on our
people.
.
As if the perper optical in our eyes have failed us, we
hypocritically call the masses wailing wailers when
our conscience is rightfully singing the song of guilt.
Poverty and lacks had become both physical and
psychological in the state, but we are skillful
costumier and liars, who will paint what is black in
white colour to generate an accursed income.
.
Ironically and unfortunately too, the sycophants
outnumbered the defenders of the oppressed as they
are serially fortified with financial strength to borrow
sympathy from the outsiders to cover the
government's ineptitudes and shortcomings. On the
side of the oppressed, the ones living in the state,
there exists no media to express their distress. Even,
he who has the proverbial tortoise head for a meal
will cry seeing the level of poverty that has eroded
the self-esteem of the people.
.
Even if Osun is collapsing, they are not bothered. All
they care for and what motivates them most is what
goes into their pockets, greased by the governor's
sudden generosity. It is worrying to observe that
those who are supposed to be at the vocal point of
the people are the ones lavishing praises on the self-
willed governor leaving the masses to wallow in
wanton death, debt and poverty.
.
When you see them, run away; they are the
cantankerous elements adding pepper, salt and
onion to the uneventful government to generate
personal income from their political financiers. They
sow the seed of sycophancy to secure quick cash and
undermine democracy and salute mediocrity.
.
They are, undoubtedly a glorification of corruption,
and unpatriotic fervour utilizing the weakness of the
opposition party to paint mediocrity white to the
public.
.
They are the cause of poor electricity in our country;
they are the bombs Boko haram is using; they are
bad roads, poor state of education and series of
misfortune in the chamber of democracy. They won't
blame the workers of inequities who rear hawks and
miscreants to put the peaceful and prosperous state
of Osun into the bottomless abyss, but would rather
call the oppressed 'wailers'.
.
Your evil will never last forever. Wake up, Aregbesola
will return to his first choice state and leave you
behind. That time, you will be paid back in your coins. 5 Likes 1 Share

-Oyedeji Oludayo . Until now, I find it difficult to understand the usefulness of thugs newly branded as state boys in Osogbo. Though the opposition party had attributed their existence to your government, but your government is talking less in proving innocence. Is it save to then conclude that you have reversed the state to NAZI Germany? . Only last year, members of the Nigerian Labour Congress planned to take to the street to demonstrate their worries over the backlogs of unpaid salaries by your government. The planned march was foiled for the fear of those who seemed to be unknown to me but best known to Comrade Jacob Adekomi and his administration in the NLC chapter of the state. NLC dropped the idea of protest like hot iron rod. You won the battle and the proletariat kept silence in distress. . Not long after, some elders and notable people in the state planned a summit to hit the proverbial nail on the head on the current issue in education but the same fear drove them beyond the proposed venue. Your government allegedly tighten the noose around them till they quickly ran for their life. You won the battle but education is still in the mud gasping. . Once upon a time, some indigenous of the state came together to express their grievances at the level of colossal poverty in the state. The demonstrators were beaten black blue by the state boys (so-called). The people were subjected to punishment while expressing their thirst for good food and physiological needs. Again, you won the battle maddening the oppressed to the state of silence. . Again, the Osun State University students recently stormed Oshogbo to express their disagreement at your impetuous idea on the recent renaming of the tertiary institutions in the state but your impatience and unwilling to be sensitive to the plights of the poor students culminated the appearance of the branded state boys. About 500 state boys were hanging around in strategic corners to beat the hell in the demonstrators out. . On the said day, men of the Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) were at alert, they were afraid the students might march and face the plagues of the state boys. The department did not hesitate to warn students repeatedly to perish the idea or marching, but advised they devise other means to go about it. . Nigerian Police Force, as expected, are battle ready. They have filled their guns and cocooned themselves in bulletproof jacket, their tear gas cylinders were shinning like bride's tooth. They were, obviously afraid of something else rather than students, the demonstrators. Perhaps the state boys would pounce on the demonstrators as usual. . BUT something is fishy sir. The DSS and NPF had expressed their worry claiming that the opposition party might send thugs to hijack the peaceful procession, but who is the daredevil opposition that will do that when political seasons are no where near? . THOUGH we knew that they were careful of one thing and that is the mentioning of state boys. Does this ring a bell sir? . The state boys don't come out when the favourable rallies and epoch-making procession to hyperbole your less popular government is staged in Oshogbo. Does that ring a bell? . The same day people were beaten like olden days' dress, your loyalists had a field day gyrating around Oshogbo to exclaim your name and they were magically insulated from the strokes of state boys. Does that mean they work for you or they just fall in love with your government? . To my utter surprise, the hoodlums are pro- Aregbesola as none of their anti-social activities had affected any of your processes. . Alas! Your party is vocal to the crusade of virtue but I wonder why you have remained contrary to the motto of the state as if it is only good on vehicle's plate number alone and not in demonstration. Why would your government keep rearing snake in the state forgetting that it will grow up to bite you and your statesmen? One wonders what will become the aftermath of your government when the cattle you are feeding with grass from the common wealth of the state no longer reap where they sow tears and blood? The state would by then be an haven of thousand of armed robbers, burglars, rural bandits and the most fearful, terrorist. . Mr. Governor sir, we forcefully believe this state is your second choice but you can prove our informants wrong by putting an end to the activities of the so-called state boys for what its implication could be.- menace! . God help us as we continue to battle with economic hardship whilst politicians thrives amidst wealth and plenty.

The students of Osun State University has embarked on three days fasting to beg God for the reversal on the policy of changing the nomenclature of the University to Bola Ige University by the state governor. The students of the institution reached this conclusion during a meeting last Monday to draw a plan on how to reject the renaming of the institution. According to our source who is also a stakeholder in the students' association under anonymity, the renaming is very good but it is coming at a very wrong claiming that the school is yet to earn a desirable popularity in Nigeria and any form of renaming would be injurious to the students. "Everybody is aware that in Nigeria today, institution's brand is highly important in the labour market. Employers are not ready to even interview graduates from a university that is not famous not to talk of empoying them. "Why is the governor of the state coming up with this idea when he has not solved the thousands of problems militating the university in all its campuses." The renaming of the institution has, however, generated heats among the students of the institution as many of them had lamented the problem they tends to face after graduating from the institution.

Oyedeji Oludayo . With sober reflections still ringing at the bottom of my heart for the government that was elected to the dividend of democracy but suddenly became a thorn and burden on the flesh and head of my statesmen. For them, I shed a bitter tears. For the burden is heavy and deliverance is no where near. For them, I shed bitter tears. . When a man is barraged with series of misfortune the broom in his hand can not scare a fly neither can it sweep the surface of his own room clean, it is in Yoruba culture to refer him to his local deity by recommending that one should follow up to worship his creator (eleda). When such person had done so, his land that has remained dead to plants would regain its fertility. Prior to this time, such person live a miserable life and unless he is fortunate to discover himself, all things he lay hands upon becomes ashes. . Where is the broom of the governor of Osun state, whose eye has been too blinded by so many sycophants to realise he has brought the state into the jungle of perdition, Or has he met the Biblical Balaam, whose duty is to lay curse on people? No one would believe he has not been bewitched and inextricably enchanted. . Consider and cry with intensity of feeling, when you remember the state of education in pre-Aregbesola administration. The sector was not loam but was not at that time a clay until the arrival of Aregbesola, whose strange policies disillusioned the whole system and turned it to ashes. Like the story of elephant in 'erin karele o wa joba's' folk-tale, he flooded himself with day light sycophants whose weapon are blatant lies. The government did not only scatter the secondary school in the state but along the line galvanized trouble in the already peaceful academic process in secondary and primary schools. . The governor’s self-willed approach to education has not but exposed his naivety in education sector. He has left no reasonable person in doubt as to his unfitness to judge the academic process, but owing to his self-centredness, he forced the weighty morsel down the throat of the people in the state. The ungifted hand syndrome, with which he calculated his errors, is still a surprise as he shrewdly backed his fruitless policies with public relations style of relief with the initiative of O-meal. . Just when everyone thought it was all done, the hand touched the structure of the secondary schools and was applauded throughout the world until it was discovered to be an asymmetric project. He twisted and employed confusion in the process that many is yet to recover from the injuries inflicted. . For its much vaunted stride, consider the adoption of the 'Tablet of knowledge' (Opon -Imo) and look no further for evidence that the hand is ungifted. The Opon Imo, as it was called did not live up to expectation until it was finally laid for burial. The ungifted hand touched Osun State Polytechnic, Iree and the ego of the OSPOLites can testify to the filth that ensued. College of Education Ila Orangun lived with the same horrible tale. Who dare wait for ungifted hand? . How will a hand that invested much in building classrooms but preferred settling politicians to paying teachers’ salaries be called a gifted one? Surprisingly, the ungifted hand has attempted touching UNIOSUN, the institution that is still enjoying its tender glory, to sing the praise his political godfathers and loyal party men like they are heroes that are to be ever celebrated. It is indeed mean to place the futures of tomorrow’s leaders on political galleries for compensation when most of the campuses have seriously been combating with one issue or the other without any reasonable gestures from the so-called peoples Governor. . For the sake of the oppressed, the deprived, the less privileged and the less-vocals, the time is ripe for the state government to stumble at reality and wake up from its self-inflicted hallucination it called policy that had almost assassinated the smooth-running of Education in the state. . To this end, the governor should face his thorough business of dealing with the serious economic quagmire into which he has carelessly plunged the state instead of dangling into the affairs of UNIOSUN, whose nomenclature have become a spirit engraved in the hearts of the students of the institution. No father celebrates the change of name of the son he could barely feed for a day when the entire family is confronted by a plague. If Mr. Gov failed to realise this through the 'erin karele owa joba' set of configuration he is surrounded with, people like us should tell him because it is not far from becoming too late. Mr. Governor, be healed from your senility and receive the power to boost Osun economy not mortgaging its future for political weight (in Mountain of fire style) #SaveUNIOSUN

Aregesola; kuku kill us
-Oyedeji Oludayo
.
The esteem, in which politicians hold Nigerian
students is not only alarming but quite appalling. I
cite the unwholesome condition of the students of
my school, Ikire division of Osun State University
where electricity is no longer a reality but a folk-tale,
the situation that has been exposing students to
different dangers, armed robbery and snake-bite.
Where no word on earth is suitable than blackout
syndrome. We have managed to parry the hurdles.
Welcome to the University, where a fortune is spent
on ICT as much as N5000 per student but the access
is still a wall of Jericho, even seven halleluyah did not
make it work. Despite the payment, it has ossified
and die waiting for funeral.
.
We pay the same amount on sport but the payment
worth of gold earned us not even silver but common
sand. We waited like a poor motherless baby who
just lost his mum. No help, even the governor did
not.
.
Despite the economic hardship, Aregbesola did not
order the school to allow the students to write exam
without school fees. Our colleagues were financially
embarrassed by the school management because of
the money they will never owe the school. Yet we
waited.
.
Alas! Mr. Governor have, at last remembered us. The
impetuous remembrance that will totally kill the
brand our school has created and redundant us into
struggling to gain brand again.
.
O yee Rauf Aregbesola, who has bewitched you to
come up with the idea when your government can
not solve the problems that militates our progress.
Deity, if you can not provide me a refuge, then return
me to former condition.
Then if you can't, we will tell you to kuku take us to
your slaughter house and kill us.
.
We know that this attempt is neither a slip nor gaffe;
it will be foolish to think so. It is a calculated effort to
ensure that your selfish opinion take over the interest
of the overall populace.
