We can’t deny the importance of electricity in our daily lives and without it life can be frustrating. If you live in Nigeria, am sure you are used to all the emotions attached to not having electricity. Everything looked well planned, but against the wind of change, it just couldn’t stand. Can a crumbling house cemented with saliva be saved from collapsing? Your guess is as good as mine. All the claims of new power plants are not justified to any length, what we see every day in the news is drop in mega watts produced. For me the only good and civil thing in this end time of GEJ is the absence of PEJ (Chai you only you waka come, there’s Godooo, are they bus conductors shouting……) in the media―will be missed though. The electricity situation is same old same and you are worst off it, if you live in a cubicle (self-contain) like me. There is a sharp difference in electricity availability in my area, looking at before and after the presidential elections―a hole that refused anyhow patching. Before election electricity in my area comes for 8-10 hours the best part mostly mid-night, after elections it is first, being rationed to two days on and one day off, then the two days added together, electricity usage is not up to 10 hours. After managing to get some sleep in the night, a sudden feeling of you wrestling starts creeping on you, you snap out of it to your drenched bed and your face dripping sweat as if the shower just came down on you. This has been my story lately. I remembered watching the documentary of a fish that generates great electric shocks (Eel fish), wondering if one of it will solve my problem, because my contribution (ajo) that am doing to buy a small generator (better pass my neighbor) has not gotten anywhere near it, not to talk of solar alternatives. We can only hope for better days ahead and Nigeria will be more productive and successful as a nation with a better power situation. Share your version of this story. How is light in your Area? |

Believe it or not; true story. Happened this last week Friday which was Good Friday. |

How do you feel, seeing what’s yours running right in front of you, yet you can’t take it back, you dearly wished it was a movie right? Guess what; it’s a movie and you are the main actor. If that is your story in the streets of Lagos, only divine intervention, can grant your happy ending. How good of fate to grant me such good tidings on a Good Friday. On my way to Iyana Ipaja from Isolo, I dropped from a bus at oshodi, crossed the express to the other side, to walk down the road, so as to get a bus heading to Iyana Ipaja. I was in sight of the other side of the Road; where I was suppose to board a bus to Iyana Ipaja. Suddenly, a guy walking towards me with no suspicious sign, hinting me of he’s intention, whom I give kudos to for having done he’s calculations well. On my left hand, was a bag full of clothes from customers which we have agreed on the designs, and am to sew and deliver at a set date, if the bag was weighed, am certain it will be between 30-40kg. On my right hand I held my office, my Samsung galaxy tab 2.0(Old; I know, we have being together 3 years and counting). The guy arm twisted me to my tab and was on he’s heels in a flash. He was gone in 3 seconds, and at first, I was asking myself who dares play this rough play with me, it must be somebody I know. I turned back and saw the distance between us ever increasing then I realized I had just been rubbed. I started gathering momentum in pursuit, and then I noticed my bag was pulling me back. I was in a dilemma; my tab running in front of me on two feet and my customer’s clothes holding me back from catching up with it. I started screaming “ole, ole” (thief, thief) and out of nowhere, a bus conductor wearing just singlet and a ¾ shorts, jumped down from he’s bus, already loaded with passengers. He ran after the thief, they ran and ran not turning left or right and the conductor didn’t back down. In fact, he kept the distance between them constantly to about 10-15meters. I was over 300meters behind dragging myself and my bag, breathing heavily, and still having them in sight. None with the intention to stop, but they were wearing out. Suddenly, the driver of the conductor in pursuit of the thief drove past he’s conductor, he then slightly brushed the thief down to the ground with the side of he’s bus. At this point they were at Skye bank along Isolo road and I was far behind then a bike man whom perhaps was watching it all, said to me “climb on lets go, the thief has being caught. I climbed on to he’s back and from far away I could see some mobile police already holding the thief, certainly they work with the bank. The driver had already gone down to pick the tab, at this point I was also dropping from the bike. He placed my tab on he’s dash board and he was about to zoom off himself. I ran after the bus with my bag, hanged by the door and I continued screaming “thief, thief” looking back at the thief being held by the police. The driver packed immediately and told me to shut up, asking me if they were not the ones that just recovered my tab for me. He then said “see my conductor, he really tried for you, and you have to compensate him. I told him the guy he’s my hero, my Lagos superman. I gave him #500 and I took my tab from the driver. I sighted the thief still being held by the mobile police. I pleaded with a lady by her shed, to help me hold on to my properties for a while, so I can do God’s will to the thief. As a left-handed guy myself, I approached him 45 degree angle from he’s left hand. Two steps away from him, I held my blow beside me, launched forward one step and gave him an Uppercut, the type I had always dished out in my imagination since birth. Not minding the pain I got, I gave him another one that went from he’s chest upward to he’s jaws. He fainted instantly, I felt like I had won a lottery. A crowd already gathered and to the luck of the thief they didn’t interfere. He woke up some seconds later gasping for breath and coughing. A voice came out of the crowd “se ka pa?”(Should we kill him?) I answer without thinking “e pa”(kill him) then this same voice asked again “se ka pa?” now I was a bit conscious and slower to answer, then the thought of the blood of a soul on my tab will make me not use the tab again. I then said “e ma pa, e sa ‘nu e” (don’t kill him, have mercy on him). I took my things and left the scene immediately. The feelings I left with I can’t explain. I thought of getting a cross bag which I’ve now gotten and I named my tab ‘Malomo’(don’t go again). How about that, for a real lifewood? 1 Like |

You are in a hurry to get to a place, certainly a bike is your best bet. You jumped on a bike at the park and a lady followed behind you unaware to you she was waiting for another passenger before climbing the bike herself. Out of not wanting to feel pressed-in on the driver with her boobs and doesn't want to feel pressed from behind by your piston. By her calculations, you find yourself in the middle of the driver and her. May God help you there are no port holes on the road( not in Nigeria), and if there are, may God help you her boobs are small and inconsequential, and if they are not may God help you the face behind the boobs are not worth a second look as this will help you snap or frown at what ever boobs bumping you will get. And if none of these conditions hold, how do you handle you self? Imagine yourself in the middle and a figure 8 lady with pretty face behind you, two of you total strangers. It will take divine intervention, perhaps filling your mind with worries or sad situation you are experiencing for the man in your front not to feel anything, how do you survive the bra, the nipple, the boobs. Unless your cells are dead (wood). But, if you are behind her, the thought of not wanting to embarrass yourself is enough leech on your piston. But, why are these ladies intentionally doing this instead of picking a separate bike and pay the full money being aware of there so called assets. May its because its happening to me almost everyday from both young and old and the recent one is that of a girl not more than 14-15years from what I saw. She had been dragging with another man waiting on the side whom I thought we where going together only for her to jump in right behind me to my surprise. I just imagined her to be my younger sister and what ever havoc that might have happened was averted. Just imagine she was 4-5 years older, tell me what will a man do? What's your experience guys, how are you coping? |

Are you planning on buying a Gadget; a phone, a laptop or is it payday and your hands are itchy towards a tech device. Here are five signs that tell you are about to buy a fake gadget. It’s your money, have you heard this quote; “the greatest injustice a man can do to he’s pocket is buying what he does not need”. 1. Sold by the road side This can’t go unnoticed especially with a public address system announcing the products or a trader jingling bell to call attention. If you are caught by the attention seeking antics, on probing further, you are sold to the highest sugar-coated talk – it’s original. Has any seller claimed to be selling fake before to a potential buyer? Your money is better spent to charity than buying that. 2. No testing Most time, this meets the first condition “sold by the road side”. You are told the shipment came from UK, US, Japan etc, and it was brought to the point of sale directly from the container. If you fall for it, a gambler is better than you. Leave it for the repair engineers to buy and sell with prior testing. 3. No warranty Maybe you tested and it worked, you will do yourself a favor, to ask for warranty or guarantee as some will call it at the point of sale. And if it’s not available, you know the type of boat you are about to enter. 4. No Logo Are you about to buy a gadget that says Sharq for Sharp, Nokla for Nokia, Ipple for Apple, an Hp logo for hp or no obvious brand name? Look well it’s a pit. 5. Ridiculously cheap If not for the price, what will make anybody thinking right buy a gadget with either of 1-4 conditions above, but think again, what value can you get from an android phone bought for #1,500 or a laptop sold to you for #10,000; Kudos to your stars, if your marriage last six months. Make a better decision when buying your next gadget; invest in your peace of mind with quality products, value for money, good resale price and a warranty covering. Or buy headache with your money with extra spending for burial ceremony in the name of repairs. It’s your call. Scraps are for scrap yards, valuable gadgets are for humans especially Nigerians. Reading through INEC’s report on PVC collection, one must give kudos to them for achieving more than 81% which is no small feat. While scanning through the report, I suddenly recalled that there is a one-quarter, two-third law somewhere which can bring to the foray unforeseen circumstances. After little research, it was seen in chapter six of the Nigerian constitution, and the section is replicated below . 134. (1) A candidate for an election to the office of President shall be deemed to have been duly elected, where, there being only two candidates for the election - (a) he has the majority of votes cast at the election; and(b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. (2) A candidate for an election to the office of President shall be deemed to have been duly elected where, there being more than two candidates for the election (a) he has the highest number of votes cast at the election;and (b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. (3) In a default of a candidate duly elected in accordance with subsection (2) of this section there shall be a second election in accordance with subsection (4) of this section at which the only candidate shall be - (a) the candidate who scored the highest number of votes at any election held in accordance with the said subsection (2) of this section; and(b) one among the remaining candidates who has a majority of votes in the highest number of States, so however that where there are more than one candidate with majority of votes in the highest number of States, the candidate among them with the highest total of votes cast at the election shall be the second candidate for the election. (4) In default of a candidate duly elected under the foregoing subsections, the Independent National Electoral Commission shall within seven days of the result of the election held under the said subsections, arrange for an election between the two candidates and a candidate at such election shall be deemed elected to the office of President if - (a) he has a majority of votes cast at the election; and(b) he has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two-thirds of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja (5) In default of a candidate duly elected under subsection (4) of this section, the Independent National Electoral Commission shall, within seven days of the result of the election held under the aforesaid subsection (4), arrange for another election between the two candidates to which the subsection relates and a candidate at such election shall be deemed to have been duly elected to the office of President, if he has a majority of the votes cast at the election. Interpretation By the constitution, for any presidential candidate to be declared winner, he has to have Won majority of the vote cast at the election and have at least 25% out of total vote cast at the election in at least 25 states including FCT. Going by the popularity and power tussle between the two major political parties and their candidates, with both candidates having supporters within the same family, religion and ethnicity, harmonizing that with INEC’s PVC collection report, it is only logical to perceive that the one-quarter, two-third condition might not be met. This might be wrong, but, what if it comes out correct? Some questions I want us to ponder over together 1. Will INEC be energized to conduct a re-run in-case that will happen? (Considering what they’ve being through, although the constitution mandates a re-run within seven days). 2. Is electoral violence avert-able, considering how emotional we are in this country and before you can say “how far” some unguarded statements are already roaming the streets wearing panties. Assuming there is a winner without meeting the one-quarter, two-third condition? Will the political party not claim the goal post has been shifted on them, and understand that it is not similar to 19 greater than 15 or vice-versa and that the reality on ground then will be the fact that even 24 is not greater than 13? 3. Is our constitution helping matters in this regard? Can’t we have it as winner declared based on having majority of votes cast in an election and one-quarter in more than half of the states of the federation including FCT? We love this country and it’s everybody's prayer that we get it right, but, that won’t happen if you and I don’t contribute our quota. Are your friends aware of what the constitution says, regarding the conditions to be fulfilled before a winner can be declared in the race for presidency? Do your quota by sharing this, lets avoid the avoidable. Source:http://www.naijatechtoys.com/specials/2015-presidential-election-and-the-one-quarter-two-third-rule-what-if |

Microsoft in a recent development has commenced testing of its new windows 10 platform on Android device. From its recent experiment on Xiaomi Mi4 it confirmed that Android users with flash able ROMs can make the switch to windows 10 platform which will be available later in the year. This means that after installing the Windows 10 ROM on the Xiaomi Mi 4, users will restart to find no trace of Android. Instead, they’ll see an operating system that looks and behaves like Windows 10, complete with all of Microsoft’s apps and services. The ROM is thus designed to go beyond Microsoft’s Android apps and offer a native-like Windows experience on Android phones. A very smart move by Microsoft, not wanting to woo phone manufacturers, which may take more time to fruiting, giving the choice first to the end user. Will you make the switch? Source.
