You are not well, because they did not support PDP politics and eliminated them from the center with their strategy? Is that not what politics is about? Was anything illegal in not supporting PDP leadership choice for speaker?

It is said that the truth can only be suppressed but can never be hidden...
These same ingrates and abominable sacrileges kept disturbing our peace and even opened a demonic thread how the innocent GEJ marginalized and sidelined them in his govt when in fact, their own people are to blame!!!!!!

Sad thing is,these seso called leaders ottheors are still their asiwajus today and have almost sold them all and what is left of their heritage away to gambaris!!!!
I spot on these hypocrites and betryers!!!!

God shall surely judge you all.

These Igbo people eh,may God continue to bless them... people hate you when you say things the way it is.

You want to use 1D thinking to face people thinking in 3D. That's why your people are confused, without direction and leaderless. Even your traditional VP position is now a very long thing to attain.

You will always dig both hands to eat anything that comes your way without pausing to see if it's a trap or good for you.

What manner of stupidity. You rejected a Yoruba man from pdp but accepted an hausa man from the same pdp. Only for the same hausa man to work against femi ambitions of being speaker in 2015 in preference for his brother from the north dogora. Can you see dat for the north blood is thicker than water. For the southwest its stupidity on full display

PDP played back their own politics in 2015 by electing their own choice as Senate president and Speaker against APC choice. You all applauded but still crying over 2011.

APC was caught flat footed in 2015 and they had to wait till 2019 to correct that mistake instead of lamenting, bemoaning and blaming.
Some are not matured to play politics and intrigues involved, they take it too personal

You can imagine. Jonathan did not ask ACN leaders to choose the speaker from any 50 ACN members in the house, rather, he asked them to choose from PDP, so that PDP would use their powerful offices and positions to work against ACN in SW ahead of elections in 2015. Can you see Jonathan's sense?.. He thinks Tinubu & Pa Akande are fools.

-erase the dot

They expect ACN to help PDP develop power center in the SW, the same party they want to kick out.
Now with that deft move SW has Speaker, VP and very good chance of presidency in 2023, unlike some people who have played politics to offside such that even VP, Speaker or Senate president looks even more impossible for them.
To the boot, there's standard gauge rail linking 3 of the SW biggest cities, two private seaport approved or under construction, world largest single trau
In refinery almost ready.

There's no Indication Lagos Ibadan SGR rail would have been started if Jonathan won 2015 election, some who did nothing tangible in SW when money was flowing will simply say there's no money. Diezani will still be buying new diamond bra

Why would an opposition party like ACN be duty bound to assist PDP ruling party to run it's politics successfully?

On one hand you will say you're against tribal politics on another context you attack those who don't play tribal politics to elect non party members because it is their sister or brother. In chess game you sacrifice pawns to gain officers. Now SW holds speaker and VP position at the same time and in pole position to get the presidency.

Your own understanding of politics is eat everything thrown at you, spare no thought for tomorrow. ACN tomorrow just arrived and it's painful to you.

There's already a portfolio for power. We copied this from US and their president has never been known to sideline any secretary by delegating his responsibility to his CoS. It's an anomaly. It's the secretary/minister first.
Note information minister speaks for the nation while presidential media personalities speaks for the presidency. Two different offices and responsibilities.

There have been many instances where special purpose vehicles are used to deliver emergency programs. A new team or taskforce can be created in health care, infrastructure, military etc to achieve a set objective without distrupting the bureaucracy set for it. It's not strange in a presidential system. Example is the new deal programs in the USA that had its own commission, or commission for industrial conversion to wartime production without going through a standing department.

In Nigeria we've had special commissions not under a specific ministry bureaucracy like OMPADEC now NDDC not under any ministry.

and how many Germans do you think will be imported into Nigeria for the job? With our shitty economy and infrastructure? How many Germans wud gladly wish to work here? A country will not avail you the opportunity to develop you and you still give them unfavourable terms. Wether local content or not, the Germans cannot provide more than 10% labour force needed for this job.

Moreover, it's foolhardy for anyone to call another ignorant for having a contrary and divergent opinion from their own. As rational beings, our opinions should at certain point be divergent too.

Similar project was initiated in Egypt and today Egypt is better of. Why is ours always different? With all our local content in investment right from the Obasanjo's administration of 76 aimed at encouraging local content, what have we achieved as a nation today? Whr we dey?

Everything Nigeria we just introduce bureaucratic bottlenecks to clog the wheel of devt. Must we always delve into the status quo?

There are many simple galvanized steel parts for electrical pylons and quality electrical cables that a number of Nigerian companies can easily make rather than employ Germans to make it in Germany.

The deal is not aid money or a gift. We are paying for it over some years. Siemens wants to create as many jobs as possible in Germany with this loan and that is enlightened self interest. But many of you chide Nigeria for also pursuing it interest to use this project to revive struggling steel sector and create fresh talent that can be deployed for other projects many that are still coming

Why not let the Germans do their work and dis will automatically transcend into meaningful devt dat will grow the so-called local content. Whr they are to emphasize local content they wud not. Looking for way to initiate corruption into the whole deal.

I agree with you we should not let 50% local delay this all important project if we can't find reputable local companies to make some of parts and services.
It can be reduced to 10-20% if it will accelerate delivery. With more power available more companies will invest in power equipment manufacturing. Then we can insist on 50% local content we journey to 100,000mw we still need to reach everywhere

In as much as the minister may or may not have done better, that's his portfolio for crying out. You are,by your post, insinuating that the minister couldn't have known or done better than the CoS and that's balderdash.

In a a sane clime, the minister should have at his fingertips our lowest power generation for a particular period and our peak in the same period, distributions and other technical info the CoS wouldn't have and should be the right person for that negotiation and never the CoS whether he could have done better is irrelevant. Stop supporting mediocrity.

The president is at liberty to assign special responsibility to staff of the presidency.

It's like saying the information minister is sidelined because there are other media officers and spokesmen at the presidency.

dont you people find it strange no matter what they build,it still remains around 4000....

and this has been going on for decades now....always around 4000mw....
its like they are intentionaly keepin it around 4000mw....

The investment of the last previous 20 years focused on power generation almost exclusively.
Now we have 13,000Mw generation capacity but no transmission and distribution capacity to deliver them. That's the focus of first 2 phases of the Siemens deal, expand transmission and distribution to 11,000mw with 2,000mw as reserve. That will more then double available power to consumers but still a far cry.

Once this phase is attained, enough lesson would have been learnt to accelerate delivery to 25,000mw by phase 3. A number if power generation plants would have been completed.

Dangote also announced plans to generate 12,000mw at Lekki refinery to the national grid. But he will not invest this money If the distribution capacity does not reach 25,000mw. Just like no private investor will expand capacity. Who will Bell the cat to tie money down if there's no power to sell? That's why govt comes in with the Siemens deal

This is just typical shallow Nigerian news without details.

Can anyone tell me exactly how Siemens plans to get us from our current paltry 4000MW to 7000MW? Is it by providing gas to existing under utilized gas plants? If so, where is the gas magically going to come from? Or do they plan to deploy grid scale solar and wind?

And then how are we to get from 7000MW to 11,000MW and then on the 25,000MW. Even if money were not an impediment, that sort of jump would still be very challenging to pull off, given the so many things that can go wrong with executing a project like this in Nigeria beyond the financial aspects.

As far as I'm concerned this is all just shallow talk, as there is no concrete plan!!

There are ongoing gas plant projects and supply projects like AKK. There are power plants planned along this route. The 700MW Zungeru dam is nearing completion.
Transcorp power wants to embark on 1000MW plant but is constrained because of lack of distribution capacity. Dangote will build 12,000mw power plant at his refinery location.

Apart from that the current installed capacity for power generation is about 13-15GW, while only 5 GW get evacuated through the national grid.

Really we should have concentrated on distribution capacity to encourage private investment instead of building useless power generating plants that can't evacuate power produced.

Y are u people pointing figures to north west. Saying they work for it. Please what do they work? You people just argue with ignorance. In 2007, Yaradua never had an ambition to become president. It was Obasanjo that picked him against all odds not Because Yaradua merited or because the north west did anything significant for him but because of his relationship with yaradua father back then. Back to 2015. 2015 was not about any geopolitical zone, it was a war against the South, and it was unfortunate the south west politicians was rather fighting for their zone alone so they help the north achieved their aim. Then in the north, parties, zoning, qualifications, etc. were thrown away. All the PDP governors in the north except Taraba, worked against their party. They just wanted a northern person as president irrespective of party or region. South west betrayed the rest of the southern region and shouldn't expect us to just allow them have their way this time. Our position is clear, south south or south east else we give it back to the North. Make we just kukuma destroy Nigeria

Lol, you're not smart at all. Starvation, blockade or carpet bombing that was used against Biafra was possible because there was a central government engaged in a territorial war against the federal government.

Now, such scenario can't happen again. There is no central authority in Igboland with a standing army and territory to protect! What you will experience is a guerilla warfare targeting Nigerian government interests and if you think that committing genocide will work, then it shows how ignorant you are because once Igbo elite aligns with the Igbo masses, they will achieve a critical mass needed to get global attention. The world will never want Nigeria to go into full blown war knowing the challenges it will bring, so they will prefer a peaceful resolution.

During the peak of IPOB confrontations with the police and army, you saw how the police stations at some point began to put up Biafra flag because they were afraid! Checkpoints disappeared on our highways!

IPOB was able to get to that extent even without Igbo elite support, then imagine what it will be like should they enjoy mass support!

And believe me, there ain't much the federal government will do, because you can't send jets to bomb cities when the guerilla fighters are in the bush. Add the fact that Nigeria is now a fragile state, with Boko Haram and all manner of terrorists fast enveloping the North.

You claim that Igbos are less prepared than in 1967 but forgot that Nigeria was cohesive and prosperous back then with very little or challenges at all. Unlike now that virtually everyone is fed up!

Stop threatening war because you're not even in the position to guarantee its outcome!!

Your guerilla war will be based in your state ba? Continue, no problem. Amnesty, NGO and IDP people will have new jobs created for them out of you and your people's misery.

Ojukwu made bigger calculations and claimed the biggest army in black Africa. At the end he ran with tail between his legs after causing carnage and destruction.

He got forgiveness but could not forgive Victor Banjo, Emmanuel Ifeajuna and others he executed.
