Silly demonic govt again..all in a bid to to start stealing directly from the bank accounts of NIGERIANs and then labelling it taxation¡!! Taxes can be charged only on income, value or profit and not on banking transaction , any attempt to tax transactions is nothing but Armed Robbery

You might soon have a coronary at this rate, has FIRS or state IRS taken money from the account of anyone with TIN number arbitrarily?
I have a business account with TIN and not a kobo has been taken out of it because the company pays its taxes to the approriate channel.

Ignorance is a serious affliction

The problem is that some few individuals would still embezzle whatever people pay as tax through treasury looting and helpless Nigerians won't be able to hold anybody accountable except ranting on Nairaland. Or who can fight corruption successfully here in Nigeria. People have lost faith in our administrators. All you wrote above would have been appropriate if we are living in a sane country

It will be a different ball game when it is the money taken from your pocket that is been stolen, not money coming from under the ground in some faraway region

I don't quite agree, serving for 36 years does not equate billions. Unless he is being misquoted saving allowances cannot add up to that ridiculous amount!

The estacode for govt officials is $300 daily and let's say by some twist in the presidential fleet they pay $1000 daily.
Even if he travels everyday if the year which is not possible that means he will get $365,000
Traveling everyday for 5 years completely impossible, he will make $1.8m which when exchanged to naira in the last 5 years average exchange rate can't be more than 800m naira if he doesn't spend a Kobo on personal needs, hotel bills and food when he traveled everyday for 5 years

Verdict: his claim is a big fat lie.

So Will you still vote for APC in 2023 ?

Of course APC all the way. So you want a situation where almost all workers in the informal sector continue to earn money tax free and contribute nothing to national development? While they constitute up to 70% if the workforce. The cheating of workers in the formal should end, the cost of running the country should be borne by all Nigerians not some.
Nigeria can't remain a primitive state that PDP left it,such that Nigeria public revenue is the smallest among the first 7 biggest economies in Africa, yet we are the biggest economy.

Politics / Re: My Message To My Fellow Igbos Concerning The Presidency Of Nigeria by Ovamboland(m): 2:33pm On Dec 08, 2021
gidgiddy:
To my fellow Igbos, I say this to you, let nobody decieve you over the Presidency of Nigeria! While there is nothing wrong with an Igbo man or woman becoming president of Nigeria, the truth remains that the presidency of Nigeria is not going to save anybody.

The presidency of Nigeria has not saved people in Katsina from being overrun and slaughtered by poverty and bandits despite producing a former president, Yaradua, and the incumbent president, Buhari.

There was a time Yorubas were agitated over June 12th, and they said that only Yoruba presidency will solve the issue. Obasanjo became president for 8 years, but if you ask Yorubas what they got out of it, they will have nothing to tell you. Today, some of them want Tinubu in there in 2023, showing you that Obasanjos 8 years never solved the issue for them

There was a time the Niger Delta was restive and they said only presidency will solve the issue. GEJ was president for 6 years, ask them what they got out of it and they have nothing to say

Let nobody decieve you about the presidency of Nigeria, if it did nothing for others, it will do nothing for the Igbo nation!

What we should be talking about is Igbo self determination, Igbo independence and Igbo freedom. We have all it takes to become an independent self governing country. Had Nigeria been a progressive country, we would be talking about competence and capacity of the potential president, not where he comes from.

Nigeria is heading no where, no matter where the president comes from. We should pass the stage of talking about the useless office of president of Nigeria that has helped nobody, including those who have held the office in the past.

You have turned 2 full cycles, from supporting Jonathan to Biafra to restructuring to supporting Atiku to Ibo presidency to Attacking Tinubu to realise you're too small for the task and back again to Biafra

The marginalization started since the end of civil war in 1970. Its a successive stuff. Only Goodluck and Obasanjo (1999 era) tried to reduce it. Buhari resurrected it as a known bigot he is, and Yorubas in their desperate clamour to produce next President are ampliying it

The only reason Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas are scared of Igbo man becoming President is fear of Southeast infrastructural development which will most likely make Igbo businesses to become more independent away from Lagos and Kano, etc.

They love the way they use 2nd Niger Bridge construction to brag as greatest feat they have done in developing Igbo land, when in reality, they know 2nd Niger Bridge is the least of infrastructures needed to boost Southeast economy.

Imagine removing a whole Southeast from the railway map but adding irrelevant Niger Republic and yet Yorubas who claim to be fair, and sophisticated politicians applaud this just because it marginalizes Igbos they so much love to hate while claiming to accomodate them.

Every little talk some Yoruba kids will be taunting Igbos to leave Lagos and go back to Southeast after using Eastern resources to develop their region. Instead of making that foolish remark, why not support peaceful exit of Southeast from your so called one Nigeria so that you can enjoy your Nigeria with the tribes you prefer and cherish init, devoid of the most baddest tribe Igbo that have been painting you saintly other Nigerian tribes bad

When Jonathan was president for almost 6 years and he was swarmed by Ibo politicians they did not do anything about any of the greatest desire of SE.
There's no indication any president of SE extraction will do anything better.

In any case Buhari you hate and Fashola you despise is already meeting one the greatest desire of SE, the second Niger bridge. Makes the work easier for the next leaders, you don't have to appreciate it but it will be standing as a testament of your false superiority complex.

You will laugh that do much debt has been used to build the railway, then turn around to demand that more debt must be used to build brand new railway in the SE too. Can't you be consistent for once?
Even the Lagos-Kano rail that will cost about $12bn has not been completed yet in addition to the expensive bridge under construction you must also have SGR railway at the same time. Are you the only region in Nigeria? Why are you so selfish? Which other region has a single 200bn bridge project?
When did SE stop demanding the bridge from all the past govt? Only when PDP lost power that you know you don't need the bridge?

As far as they are concerned, as long as he had some attachment to Ohanaeze regardless of how long ago is enough for them to tag him the mouthpiece of the organization.

How about we label Gumi the leader of Herdsmen and Bokoharam as the mouthpiece of the Hausa/Fulani and Ishaq Akintola of Mumuric Organization as the spokesperson of Yorubas?

I think that’s fair enough!

Do those people give instructions to their people and they must follow the way most Ibos worship every word from Kanu?

Just ensure you read me well here at least. That will help your thought.

Moses writing that is over 3000 years old shouldn't be hard for you to understand if you are ready to learn.

The ancient world understood clearly what he was teaching. It's sad that millennia even in their advancement of knowledge can't understand literacy.

When you were young and was told stories of how tortoise broke his shell through his greed by trying to climb into heaven. He fell and broke his shell. His friends helped him to gum the shell together hence the reason his shell is like that today.

I am sure you believed it that time at tender age, but when you grew, you know better that the story was not to be a literal action but communicating a wisdom for living and wisdom to understand how things are in humanity. The truth you know from it doesn't therefore invalidate the story but give a perspective of teaching and learning.

Now, anyone who have grown up in knowledge won't read serpent talking in Genesis and get confused. Ancient world used stories, figures to explain wisdom to their audience. Enter a village and sit with the elders, listen to how they communicate wisdom to you.

They use stories, adages, figures yet you don't have issues with that as you understand clearly what it means. Why then do we throw away our education and proper reasoning when reading the bible?

If you have been taught well and have read the whole Bible, you will know that Moses as a prophet of God and advanced in knowledge was communicating wisdom but not teaching stories. He wasn't teaching kindergartens, so I want you to set your mind rolling beyond tales by moon light of nursery class and start reading well.

So, you shouldn't be arguing,
what you should ask is

What was Moses communicating?

Now that we are older and no longer gather under the tree to listen to tales by moonlight, we now realised those tales are fiction and mere illustrations to teach moral values.

Now are you saying those supernatural tales of animals talking to humans, creation stories etc in the bible are fiction not real events?

There you have it as at 2014

That was also before they started borrowing to pay salary.
By hand over in May 2015, Nigeria debt had grown to $63bn. (corrected)

So, Bro go back and reread well or take classes to be taught well before engaging in criticism. That's how things are done.

Neither is your well-being dependent on the belief that George Orwell wrote true accounts of events in Animal Farm.

sorry but I have to say this? many people are stupid to believe that subsidy has ever been Nigeria problem......
1. How do u make profit when u import your own products finished product and export only the raw material?
2. Why can't we as a country refine our product and create market for our product.
3.lets assume we remove subsidy cost of living will increase and labour will go on strike, lecturers, doctors and civil servant all will clamour increase in salary then we go and borrow more money to increase salary then we decrease the value of our money.
4.It boils down that we are going circles. now let me ask...at some point fuel was sold for 65naira and then Goodluck wanted to remove subsidy and then it was said that fuel could get up to 145naira we did riot and it was not done instead some part of the subsidy was removed the it was sold 88naira. Buhari entered and it rose 165naira what exactly caused the increase in price...was it not the same subsidy was removed? if not tell me what was removed that made the fuel price to go up to 165naira.

Don't let anyone fool u my fellow Nigerians we r always going circles...we know the truth let's face it

1. We keep using a larger part of our oil earnings to pay for subsidy. A point will be reached with our growing population, number of cars and generators, that our earning from crude sale will equal subsidy or be less. Then we will need to borrow to keep subsidy.
2. Incompetence, mediocrity, poor business model and corruption all combined to make local refining fail. Saudi Aramco, AdNoc, Etihad, Emirates are all thriving govt owned business because the use necessary talent and good model to run.
3. Cost of living will surely go up, wages will also increase. Things will rebalance as time goes on. No matter how hard you try you can't find staff on 3k monthly salary anywhere in Nigeria.
4. Price of fuel can't remain the same since we all know the price of the raw material is always changing. No matter who is president if there is no subsidy price of fuel can't remain the same for so long. Surely cant be 88 naira as crude oil is already over 150 naira a liter before you factor in the cost of a $15bn refinery like that of Dangote and what it will cost to operate and maintain, do TAM etc
