FarahAideed: You might soon have a coronary at this rate, has FIRS or state IRS taken money from the account of anyone with TIN number arbitrarily? I have a business account with TIN and not a kobo has been taken out of it because the company pays its taxes to the approriate channel. Ignorance is a serious affliction 1 Like |

vedaxcool: The estacode for govt officials is $300 daily and let's say by some twist in the presidential fleet they pay $1000 daily. Even if he travels everyday if the year which is not possible that means he will get $365,000 Traveling everyday for 5 years completely impossible, he will make $1.8m which when exchanged to naira in the last 5 years average exchange rate can't be more than 800m naira if he doesn't spend a Kobo on personal needs, hotel bills and food when he traveled everyday for 5 years Verdict: his claim is a big fat lie. 42 Likes 6 Shares |

PrinceOfLagos: Of course APC all the way. So you want a situation where almost all workers in the informal sector continue to earn money tax free and contribute nothing to national development? While they constitute up to 70% if the workforce. The cheating of workers in the formal should end, the cost of running the country should be borne by all Nigerians not some. Nigeria can't remain a primitive state that PDP left it,such that Nigeria public revenue is the smallest among the first 7 biggest economies in Africa, yet we are the biggest economy. 12 Likes 1 Share |

franchasng: When Jonathan was president for almost 6 years and he was swarmed by Ibo politicians they did not do anything about any of the greatest desire of SE. There's no indication any president of SE extraction will do anything better. In any case Buhari you hate and Fashola you despise is already meeting one the greatest desire of SE, the second Niger bridge. Makes the work easier for the next leaders, you don't have to appreciate it but it will be standing as a testament of your false superiority complex. You will laugh that do much debt has been used to build the railway, then turn around to demand that more debt must be used to build brand new railway in the SE too. Can't you be consistent for once? Even the Lagos-Kano rail that will cost about $12bn has not been completed yet in addition to the expensive bridge under construction you must also have SGR railway at the same time. Are you the only region in Nigeria? Why are you so selfish? Which other region has a single 200bn bridge project? When did SE stop demanding the bridge from all the past govt? Only when PDP lost power that you know you don't need the bridge? |

That was also before they started borrowing to pay salary. By hand over in May 2015, Nigeria debt had grown to $63bn. (corrected) https://www.thecable.ng/from-obasanjo-to-buhari-how-fgs-debt-profile-surged-658-to-n26-9trn-in-21-years/amp If you were being honest you would have told us how much was the debt handed over by Jonathan. Ofunaofu: What did the usual suspects say when last year the govt announced a $1.2bn plans for total rehabilitation of the refineries to resume production? The must not do it, it's too expensive (with zero knowledge of level of rot and what it takes to put them back to service). So no matter what the govt does a large group of critics will make noise. At the end of the day the govt must learn to ignore the noise but make sure it's plans are well monitored to give the desired results. Attempting to satisfy every critic or noise makers is to stay on the same spot. 1 Like |

Firerising: 1. We keep using a larger part of our oil earnings to pay for subsidy. A point will be reached with our growing population, number of cars and generators, that our earning from crude sale will equal subsidy or be less. Then we will need to borrow to keep subsidy. 2. Incompetence, mediocrity, poor business model and corruption all combined to make local refining fail. Saudi Aramco, AdNoc, Etihad, Emirates are all thriving govt owned business because the use necessary talent and good model to run. 3. Cost of living will surely go up, wages will also increase. Things will rebalance as time goes on. No matter how hard you try you can't find staff on 3k monthly salary anywhere in Nigeria. 4. Price of fuel can't remain the same since we all know the price of the raw material is always changing. No matter who is president if there is no subsidy price of fuel can't remain the same for so long. Surely cant be 88 naira as crude oil is already over 150 naira a liter before you factor in the cost of a $15bn refinery like that of Dangote and what it will cost to operate and maintain, do TAM etc |
