Siasia Sack Siasia!

The NFF technical committee has asked for the sack of Samson Siasia as Eagles coach after he failed to qualify for the 2012 Nations Cup.

The committee also recommended that Stephen Keshi be appointed in a caretaker capacity before a competent foreign coach is hired for the country’s full international team, MTNFootball.com further scooped.

Shopping for a foreign coach may take longer than necessary with the Eagles due to play a 2013 Nations Cup qualifier in January.

According to top officials, Siasia has a four-year contract, which clearly stipulated that he qualifies Nigeria to at least the semi-final of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations for it to be continued.

On Saturday, Nigeria failed to reach even the Nations Cup finals for the first time in 25 years.

Besides not meeting this target, his managerial and technical skills were also questioned.

“It’s obvious that this man cannot handle this team,” said a top technical committee member in reference to the highly publicised spats Siasia got into with some of the Eagles top stars like Osaze Odemwingie and Vincent Enyeama.

The executive committee of the NFF is now expected to meet next week to deliberate on these recommendations.

The committee headed by Chris Green met for over four hours Thursday afternoon at the NFF secretariat in Abuja with Samson Siasia appearing it to state his own case.

Siasia flew into the country from London ahead of his team so as to keep this date.

The technical committee members also made written submissions of their position, which will be forwarded to the executive board.

Former Nigeria World Cup coach Adeboye Onigbinde, who is bereaved, and Enyimba chairman, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, whose team are preparing for Sunday’s CAF Champions Semi-final second leg match against Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, were the only two absentees from the technical committee meeting on Thursday.

Sports / Re: Why Is The Press Relatively Silent On Siasia? by oyebobo(m): 5:31pm On Oct 13, 2011
Can anybody update us on the decision of the NFF technical committee? Well like i said earlier Siasia should not be sacked but his technical supports should be reviewed because to an extent Siasia has been able to instill discipline in the team. However, he needs to also impose winning mentality in these players, that is the psychology aspect of the game. A team with winning mentality will never surrender a 2-1 lead in just seconds to go. Well, he can learn how to do that from Sir Ferguson or Mourinho. The NFF can help by sending him to a practical refresher cause under any of the two coaches mentioned above.

I have nothing against Siasia but I am pointing out to you that the substitution i explained will resulted in eagles playing 4-3-3 as shown below

obinna ike uche Ahmed Musa

joel Mikel
Ogude

Taiwo Adeleye Yobo Ambrose

Look at what you have up their it is 4-3-3, It can even be adjusted to 4-4-2 defending on the coach preference and not the 4-1-5 that he played after taking Joel out which exposed the back 4.

@milehigh06

I asked him to bring in Dele Adeleye for Emenike because there was need for him at that point to strenghten his defense and stabilise the midfield. We all know that at 2-1 the Guineans will want to come out at us which they did. Adeleye would pair Yobo in the central defense while Ambrose moved to the right full back. Then Ogude, a very strong, tactical and natural defensive midfielder would move back to the midfield to help in winnimg the ball right from midfield. Tactically, this will help us to create more chances because the more you are able to win more balls in the midfield the more pressure you will pile on your opponent, simple. Then and there, with ike uche and Musa upfront towards the end the guineans would have committed more fouls and errors, infact we would have scored more goals. This is what they call tactical substitution but not changing midfielder for midfielder.
Thank you.

Objectively thinking, Siasia is tactically deficient. He had no game plan on that day, he was relying on the individual strength of the player which failed them because of the scorching sun under which the sun was played. Immediately the match became 2-1 i expected him to remove emenike bring in Dele Adeleye, push Ogude to the midfield and ask Ambrose to move to the right full back. He would instruct Ogude to be doing the marking and tracking in the midfield while Joel Obi would be instructed to join the attack, mikel will stay in the midfield with Ogude but throwing intelligent passes. In the attack, he would license Nsofor to be moving to the central position more in other to be well positioned for accurate shot. Mikel's passes should be directed more to IKe Uche and Musa both of had just come in and still have more steam and energy than anybody on the pitch.
Siasia failed because he didnt know how to strengthen all the departments of play with one or two substitutions rather he substituted the person doing all the marking (joel).

Well, if NFF think he should not be sacked, then they should review the technical and tactical support he receives from Kalika, which i dont think is enough or probably Kalika himself is also deficient tactically. Then Kalika can go, employ a technical and tactical coach as assistant for Siasia.

Sports / Re: Who Should Be The Next Captain Of The Super Eagles? by oyebobo(m): 12:38pm On Nov 09, 2010
Well Enyeama is the best option. That he is a goalkeeper does not stop him from performing his role. Chilavert was a goalkeeper but he was an influential leader on the Paraguayan national team, Enyeama was also a capatain in one of the years Enyimba won the African champions league. His dedication, commitment and experience cannot be compared to that of any other player in the present squad of the super eagle. What else do you need in a leader?

Jobs/Vacancies / Alarm Custom Recruits After 17 Years. by oyebobo(m): 6:06pm On Apr 22, 2008
i HAVE JUST READ A BREAKING NEWS ON THE GUARDIAN WEBSITE THAT THE CUSTOMS IS TO RECRUIT AFTER 17 YEARS BUT THE DETAIL OF THE PROCESS IS NOT STATED. IF THERE IS ANYBODY WITH THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS PLEASE SEND IT TO THE FORUM.

Customs to recruit officers 16 years after
Arrangements are being made by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to recruit new officers, 16 years after a similar exercise. NCS spokesman Wale Adeniyi said the exercise was sequel to a directive of its board. "The board met towards the end of last week and directed that the exercise should commence without delay. The directive was informed by the fact that the NCS needs younger people that will succeed aging ones.'' He said the board had directed the NCS to follow the appropriate procedures in conducting the exercise. Adeniyi explained that NCS was aware of the activities of fraudsters who had engaged in defrauding unsuspecting and desperate job seekers. He said anybody who gives any person money for placement in NCS is doing that at his own risk." The NCS has spread out its dragnets to fish out those fraudsters for prosecution and very soon a lot of them will be caught,'' he said.
