The APC lead Buhari Government and its selective prosecution of top members of the opposition Party can no longer be denied by even the most ardent of supporters.
The unjust and unwarranted arrest of Prince Uche Secondus, the former acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party ,just days after he and his officials picked a man the APC consider a tough and worthy opponent to pilot the affairs of the Party ,a man they know could probably ensure the Opposition Party gets back to the cradle of power come 2019,Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
This action from a man known to hold long grudges and serious vendetta goes a long way to buttress my points, you and I know the history between President Buhari and Col Sambo Dasuki and how long he had to wait to exact his pound of flesh.
Information released about the arrest of Prince Unch Secondus points to some Flimsy excuses over the purchase of some buses for his Party. Recall that Olisa Methu, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP was arrested on the 5th of January 2016. He was detained for weeks without access to his attorney or family, presently his case is before an Abuja Federal High Court and indications are pointing to the fact that EFCC and their prosecution team are drowning.
The EFCC has in its clutches top Chieftains of PDP, Men like Haliru Mohammed Bello, Adamu Muazu and others they consider a threat to their plans of drawing Nigerian back to the stone age.

Shame is nothing of a sane mind dancing naked in the Market place; The Federal Republic of Nigeria has been reduced to nothing but a man dancing nakedly in the public to the evil of mischief, pogrom and injustice. The naked government in the man called APC has yet reiterated his commitment to end opposition by jailing and nailing his critics.
Sanely, one would expect a government of a suffering nation to possess concrete panacea for inconsistencies, inadequacies it once perceived against a PDP government. Soon Nigerians will know how they have been misled, misinformed and hoodwinked into submitting that the country need change. Although change at terra incognitio.
APC has for the passed few months ditched from it arsenal series of blows against the opposition PDP and has further devised a serial chain of punitive and retributive list against it major opposition in the PDP. However, under the nomenclature of anti-graft war the APC handpicked Alhaji Bello Haliru, a serving Chairman of the PDP Board of trustee-BOT, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, an PDP chieftain, followed by Chief Olisa Metuh the PDP national publicity Secretary. Of all the falsehood and allegations cooked by the APC, Prince Uche Secondus were not culpable except a petty indictment over campaign vehicles. Hence his arrest and detainment. Secondus is the immediate Ex PDP Chairman. Those persecuted are just too numerous to mention as Comrade Abbah Moro FMR Minister of Interior also makes the list. Nigerians do not need to be hoodwinked again as the saying goes once beaten twice shy. The question begging for answer is, are Nigerians still buying from this APC’s Market of delusion and hallucinations. It won’t be a thing of surprise later when Nigerians start hearing through the print and non print media an allegation of corruption against the current PDP Chairman Alhaji Amodu Sherif. This lopsided anti-corruption war is a decoy to placate Nigerians on APC’s resolve to quell and terminate PDP in it quest to retain power beyond imaginable after it understood. That Nigerians are getting to know the truth in the lies sold to them by the APC.
Those who feels that APC is persecuting PDP have every justifiable cause to their claim. Nigeria await good governance and it will tell this story of the once upon a time.

The 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act do not support the present situation that Audu’s death foists. INEC had declared Saturday poll inconclusive, which makes S.181(1) CFRN 1999 irrelevant, therefore if any one is planning go against the legal rights, it means that fellow is fighting the kogi people and Nigeria as whole.

Politics / Buhari Represents Darkness, Ugly Past – PDP by pabiem: 11:06am On Oct 30, 2015
PDP: We ‘ll Reveal Buhari’s Corrupt Past
Urge the APC flag-bearer to explain his ugly roles in PTF

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation (PCO) on Wednesday said that it’s major assignment is to reveal the true identity of the APC Presidential Candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, as a corrupt Nigerian who masquerades himself as honest man without any blemish.

The PDP campaign outfit also asked Buhari to explain his roles in the defunct Petroleum Task Force (PTF) that he headed in the administration of General Sani Abacha and General Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Addressing its maiden press conference, the Director of Media and Publicity of the campaigns, Femi Fani kayode said, “It is our full intention to expose General Muhammadu Buhari for what he really is, what he stands for and the great danger that his candidacy portends for the unity of the Nigerian state and the peace and well-being of the Nigerian people.”

He said that the directorate of Media and Publicity shall not indulge in the type of cheap propaganda, mud-slinging and deceit that the APC and their Presidential candidate have been indulging in over the last few weeks and months in the course of revealing the true identity of Buhari to Nigerians.

However, he said that in the course of its duties that they shall equally let the world know about the sterling performance of “our candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, over the last four years and we shall make a strong case and appeal to the Nigerian people to grant him the privilege and opportunity to serve a second term.

“We believe that we have reached a crossroads in our nation’s history and that the forthcoming Presidential Election is a battle for the very soul and destiny of Nigeria.”

According to the former Aviation Minister who described Buhari as representing evil, said, “We believe that it is a struggle between light and darkness. We believe that General Buhari represents the darkness and that former President Jonathan represents the light.

“We believe that General Buhari represents a return to an ugly past which is best forgotten while former President Jonathan represents our hope for a greater and better future.

“We believe that the APC, on which platform General Buhari is the president, represents everything that is unholy and unwholesome in our society and that the PDP represents all that is decent and good.”

Nairaland / General / New World Bank Report Reveals Africa’s Poverty Rate Drops To 43% by pabiem: 4:36pm On Oct 19, 2015
A new World Bank report has put Africa’s poverty rate at 43 per cent compared to a previous figure of 56 per cent.

The World Bank Vice President, Africa Region, Mr. Makhtar Diop said during a video conference on ‘End Poverty Day’ over the weekend that “We understand poverty has been going down in Africa significantly.”

Diop stated that the latest estimates came as “good news in the context where we have decay of solid growth in Africa averaging 5 per cent.”

“But while we are saying that, we have a lot of work to do because we still have a larger number of poor people in Africa, hundreds of millions,” he added.

He said the report represented the most recent poverty data available and seeks to highlight the need to know the determinants of poverty in Africa.

However, he said much of the progress in poverty reduction came from the non income dimension of poverty which witnessed improvement in literacy and child mortality rates as well as increase in life expectancy in the continent.

The Vice President further noted that the new figures were still a far cry compared to what is obtainable in other developing world. He said poverty eradication should not be limited to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) or Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) but seen as foremost demand from the people of Africa.

“As society becomes more and more open, people are voicing the needs and wants for more inclusive growth,”, he said in a video conference from Ghana.

The reported estimated that two out of five persons were still malnourished in Africa while education systems are serious problems in terms of quality.

Diop said more investments and tough actions were required by governments to fix the energy sector particular the electricity distribution company which appeared inefficient and largely contributed to the failure of power sector.

The new Africa Poverty Report released over the weekend highlighted weak poverty data in the continent and urged governments to strengthen research instruments. It further noted that though non monetary dimension of well-being improved, levels remained low and progress had leveled off.

It said poverty in Africa may be lower than current estimates suggest although more “people are poor today than in 1990.” It also said inequality patterns vary across the African continent.

It further expressed concern over the low quality of surveys conducted by countries – some often incomparable. It cited a particular case of Nigeria as an example.
It said: “One survey of Nigeria’s poverty rate in 2010 estimated the figure at 26 per cent; another conducted the same year, putting the figure at 53 per cent. With 20 per cent of Africa’s population in Nigeria, this discrepancy makes a big difference in tracking trends in the region.”

Politics / The “just” Convicted And The “unjust” Vindicated By Peter B by pabiem: 3:55pm On Oct 19, 2015
Nigeria is a blessed country, so blessed with Natural and Mineral resources and beautiful people with diverse and lovely cultural heritages.

It is an era of “Change”, a change where the citizens no longer have a say as regards the wellbeing of our great country Nigeria and have limited or no rights to public opinions. An era where the guilty and unjust roam around the walls, corners and extremes of the nation freely and the just are tried, convicted and charged with crimes they have not committed.

I would like to state the contextual definitions of “Just” and “Unjust” as regards this article; The “Just” being individuals who have been found guilty without being proven as such. The “Unjust” being individuals who have been accused of crimes and evidence tendered to that effect and yet, still are perceived innocent by virtue of their political affilliations.

Is this change really positive? Is it the kind of change Nigeria needs? What good does the phrase “Change” hold for us as a nation? I bet it will be wise to say “the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know.”

The beauty of Nigeria is depreciating due to bad and dictatorial ruler ship. Is it right for a leader to ask his/her followers to kill themselves because they have suggested what is right for the nation?

It is so disheartening that instead of improving the economic, security and social wellbeing of this nation, energies are gathered and centered on punishing and persecuting the just while the unjust walk around with smiles, some even given appointments while some still in hideout. It is rather unfortunate.

Nigerians are patient, beautiful and lovely people; people of great visions and prospects. Let the word/phrase “Change” not lead us all into captivity and further chaos.
