princemmab: No doubt you r yoruba... So, are you implying thay everyone in your tribe can speak broken English, let alone good and proper one? I doubt if Gabon is Yoruba but even if he is, so what's the big deal? Isn't it a foreign and colonial language? I don't know your tribe but I am a proud Yoruba man and my tribe is known to be the most educated and literate tribe in Nigeria. I have travelled the length and breadth of Nigeria and I can boldly and confidently say that ,southwest has the lowest rate of illiteracy. Even if you had your education in Cambridge, surely, there are better and more subtle ways to correct the man. You have only succeeded in displaying your arrogance and ignorance by claiming to be Mr. Know-all 1 Like |

Scammers are in every sector you can think of. I received a similar call some few months ago but did not occur to me to share it here untill now. But usually, these people have a smart way of getting information about people. What I do now? I use special phone numbers and e-mail address for adverts or public consumption. Every stranger is a suspect until you can prove your innocense. So, before the guy could finish talking about buying his so called special chemicals through me in Lagos, told him you are speaking to the wrong person . As long as you can tame your greed and discuss the matter with two or more close associates be it ur family or friend, they won't get you. Scammers are very small in number but they explore all creative and non-creative ways of duping people everyday of their lives especially the greedy ones among us. While genuine people wake up everyday to go and do their daily work, scammers too wake up everyday looking for new victims to scam .They are in Job vacancies, auto, business properties etc. Some were trained by comandclem- the biggest scam of the century promising a lifetime income! Can you beat that? A word of advise for any scammer reading, Now is your best chance to change your ways. No wealth acquired through dubious means endures. God can bless you much more if you re-direct your energies positively. God bless you as you change for the better. And for those who still indulged in scamming people , Nigerians and foreigners alike- Hell shall be your eternal abode. Everything you achieved dubiously will come to ruins in your lifetime and you shall have a painful and miserable end. 5 Likes |

@ op Pls when you eventually buy, either brand new or tokunboh, outright or instalment payment, do ensure that you buy a tested and reliable brand like Toyota, Nissan, Ford or Honda. Do not go for kia or hyundai. Though, it is my personal opinion borne out of experiencr. Now, you may have had a nasty experience about the tokunboh you bought in d past due to very many reasons. If you rrflect back, you may discover what went wrong. I'd love to know where and how did you buy d vehicle? What brand is it? DID YOU CHECK D VIN NO BEFORE YOU PAY FOR IT? Did you run a scan on the vehicle before payming for it? People tend to forget that some tokunboh were not meant to be sold! They are confirmed scrap in motion! If you do not know enough about vehicle, it is only appropriate to take along experienced and knowledgeable person along when about to buy vehicle. It will safe you a whole lot of future headaches. If i were you, i will still go for tokunboh again but with extreme caution and extensive investigation and scrutiny. If the buyer will not allow you to run comprensive scan on the vehicle, then don't buy. But if your mind is made up on brand new vehicle and you have adequate financial resources, then you can go for it. Therefore, the final decision is yours no matter what anyone says |

@ underground Try this no 07036185876, will try get more phone nos for you on Monday. The real reason why Nigeria is like this is simply because we are very docile people. We don't like to challenge the status quo and when you go out of your way to challenge some of these absurdities, you are seen as the odd one out of the lot who will just conform rather than complain. We have several government agencies charged with the responsibility of protecting the Nigerian consumers. Such as Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Consumer Protection Agency (CPA), but what do you see all around? Substandard products! Most of these organisations have become inefficient due to corruption. You can write the Consumer Protection Agency too, will try get their Lagos office contact from someone in the coming week. We also need to take our destinies in our own hand and form a united front either as a pressure group or an NGO against substandard products or services. It will serve as platform for any aggrieved Nigerian to call and get redress. Lawyers in the house can help us out on this. Personally, I hate injustice more so and worse still, from foreigners . 1 Like |

@ underground You''ve taken the right decision by taking the matter to. the public. You can also take the case to a radio station like star fm. Nothing works like bad publicity for such organisation. Indians are fond of taking us for rides in Nigeria. But they hate bad publicity. Ask to speak with Moyo or Mofe on Star FM program anchored everyday between 8-9am weekdays. The lessons, consult widely before you spend your hard earned money on an untested brand of Vehicle. Most people in the auto industry will not touch certain brands of vehicle with 10ft pole. You were even lucky your vehicle could cover up to 45, 000km before the faults became pronounced. Some of us will stick to Toyota, Nissan and Honda in that order because those are tested and confirmed brands. Secondly, if you desire to go the long haul, and all the above options fail, consult your lawyer, and join the two companles in the suit. You will see a quick resolution of the case. Because they will like to settle of court. But I am sure they will resolve it once it gets to the radio station. Keep us updated on the issue |

CPO recruitment: @CPO recruitment Your headline is perhaps your greatest undoing. Boss 13 and several others got alarmed by the way you framed your title and they all have the right to be suspicious given the level of scamming going on on a daily basis here on nairaland. However, you could have taken a different approach by going straight to the point on your true objectives. As they say in Yoruba "Eniti were ba pa iya re je, ti o ba ri auto-technician (Mechanics) to mbo , ti o si gba igi relay ki won ma ba wi". He whose mother was killed by a mad man, has the right to run away if he comes in contact with an auto-technician with a dirty, mad-like image Now, I don't know you from Adams, but something tells me you probably have good intention. I however think you gave up so soon. Ordinarily, the fact that you were misunderstood by a few should not be enough to give up if indeed you aspire to lead your generation. It should be expected. Now that your fiancee has started another similar thread, why don't you join hands with her. My only problem with your kind of business is its colossal effects on the environment. But don't be discouraged or saddened. There are so many scammers these days that it is becoming difficult to know genuine people. The fact that the police mistakenly arrest an innocent person does not make him a criminal if his innocence could be established |

@wizecoder i am interested in supplying cashewnut to local suppliers. Could you give me names and addresses of reliable ones you know in Lagos and possibly their current buying price? We already have a good sourcing points in kogi state. I gathered some buyers are in Abimbola, somewhere close to Iyana-Isolo |

Your biz model is good and I am tempted to encourage you on this path. However, I am a bit disappointed in your disposition to the issues of environments. Being a lady, and a potential mother at that, you should hope to leave a better environment for the coming generation. Your argument that you are helping some moringa investors to clear the land of trees is not water-tight. With ur expansion plan, the entire kwara state may not be enough for you to sustain the business. While I agree that the major culprit here is the govt and it's poor regulation on environmental issues, we as people should always be conscious of our responsibility to fellow humans, to the environment and above all, to our God. We need not be coerced or forced to do the right thing. Don't join the bandwagon typical of most if not all charcoal producers about making money without any interest in the environment. Some countries buying our charcoal at next to nothing have more trees than we do but the law makes it practically impossible for their citizens to destroy their environment the way we do it here. As they say, one person at a time, we all can join hands to make the world a better place. In a practical sense, you can choose to cut your trees above the roots to allow for 'the survival of the tree. Secondly, you can buy certain number of tree seedling for a certain number of trees felled. I know a great deal about the charcoal biz but I have never done it because of the way people in this part of the world go about it. Even if there are loop holes in govt policies and laws that allows degradation , and every other person in the industry is not bothered about the environment, shouldn't you? While your charcoal investors can go on making the money, I'd like to be your partner and a better investor with you concerning the environment. I therefore urge you to be more conscious of the environment. Let there be an area specifically designated where woods can be burnt. I wish you the best in ur efforts to "make money for yourself and your investors" but be a true friend of the environment, so we don't become another Chad in the nearest future. 2 Likes |

Custom Officer Ambrose what? There are many Ambrose in the Cuistoms. Can you give details of your operational office? Scanned copies of the authorization letter etc. We assume it is scam because most in customs, including senior staff are not aware of such an important info. Please convince us with verifiable evidence that we are wrong 1 Like |

@ifyalways While i agree that most scammers operating clandestine employment agency will most likely use e-mail add like yahoo, gmail & the likes. Likewise, some multi-nationals either use consulting firms or use in house HR department to recruit. What we have found out sometimes is that once d recruiting company is identified, every applicant begins to search for insiders who can help influence the job to their favour (even when they do not qualify). Consequently, MDs, Executive Directors etc are bombarded by all sorts of pressures from friends and families to assist. Therefore, some big companies have it as a policy not to disclose their identity while recruiting. It is also happening to some consulting firms now. I know a prof in Unilag whose son brought a note from his father to a managing partner of a consulting firm to help influence certain recruitment being carried out for a multi-national. The prof believed he helped his friend's son to get admission and now is pay back time. Such experiences sometimes leads to the use of anonymous contacts and e-mails. The use of such e-mails as gmails are not always for mischief. It is the applicants that should watch out and be wary of any attempt to deceive into buying forms, or parting with money in any guise. A genuine company will not ask any applicant to pay for any reason |

femmy2010: The funny thing is that some people still fall for this. With people like taiye.derek who is requesting that should the scammer needs more hands to join him in crime, he is interested. How else do we stop them if more hands are willing to join? |
