So Islam is 1000 years behind Christianity ??

I’m very partisan and I don’t deny it. For now, I support everything APC. PDP members said negative things about APC and Vice versa. It’s all about politics.

Below is what PDP said about Obaseki about three months ago. What has changed?

No problem

But don’t assume a high moral ground when another person does the same thing as if you don’t do it.

The things inherent in this country are : tribalism , nepotism , religious divisions , unequal democracy (Animal Farm ), godfatherism and so many other things .

Imagine if you’re put in a position to conduct a detailed audit on a very prominent and loyal Party member. I daresay the audit will be over even before it begins. 100% clean bill of health. There’s no way on earth you would indict him

I’m challenging you to do the part in bold. Dig out my previous posts where I vigorously defended somewhere from my ethnic group who was accused of corruption.

We don’t need to go far . You have joined the group of those tarnishing Obaseki’s reputation online these past few weeks. Are you a member of Ise Iyamu’s campaign team ? A man who was formerly described as a thief by Oshiomole . But because he’s in APC now , you lot have completed a straight 180 degree turn.

Now I ask you , what were your comments on Ize Iyamu and Obaseki in 2016 ? Be honest.

People like you have constantly failed to see the real problem of Nigeria because you view every issue with tribal lens. We have a serious problem with our political class across all ethnic groups. If we create south west or south east development commission today, similar story will still come out. Our society is deeply corrupt nationwide.

So you consider yourself to be an objective commentator on the issues of corruption in this country . I can easily dig up your posts where you have deflected or even vigorously defended similar cases involving people from a certain ethnic group and/or party .

It’s only those who don’t know you that’ll be deceived by this garb you’re wearing today.

Kudos to them but why so much noise after passing just phase one when some vaccines especially in the UK are already in phase 3.

By the way, 7m+ have recovered from the virus worldwide out of confirmed 13m+ without a curative vaccine. Of what use is a curative vaccine if it's not yet out after 8months.

What the world needs urgently is a preventive vaccine or an immune booster the virus can't surmount then we get on with our lives back.

But even Forbes says they’re the first country to complete human trials

But let's be sincere, if Enyimba or Rangers should have a line up of Five Chinese, 2 Europeans and three Tunisians will We Nigerians complain?
If and when we complain, will we be tagged Racists?

To answer your question, it’s right to complain if local talent is denied at the expense of foreign talent . But you referred to them as Chinese, Europeans, Tunisians meaning they’re not Nigerians. So your analogy is not really comparable to what the fan said

If the white people playing in Enyimba have accepted Nigerian citizenship , then they can be referred to as local talent . So if you complain about them based on their SKIN COLOUR even after they became Nigerians , then yes you’re racist.

The fan should’ve expressed concern at the high number of FOREIGNERS in the club but instead he expressed concern at the high number of BLACK people.

Guess why he could not do so . Cos most of the black players are German citizens. So yes he’s a racist

The fan made a point which is too sensitive for the world we live in today...let's not even pretend..most of you will take offence if foreign players are featured more than your home grown talents..heck if there are more northerners than easterners in enyimba fc there will be dissenting voices and vice versa...let's not even pretend here.

No.
If he’s really concerned about German talents being ignored, then he should’ve expressly said: number of FOREIGN players in the club. Instead he complained about BLACK players .

Foreign players refers to everyone from outside Germany including white players from UK, Portugal etc. Black players refers to people of a certain skin colour (even if they’re German citizens) .

I hope the distinction is clearer now smiley

Crime / Re: #JusticeForBarakat: Barakat Bello Raped And Killed In Ibadan by PanAC: 11:34am On Jun 03, 2020
post=90260971:

The hijab-wearing Barakat Bello was allegedly murdered while she was struggling to resist rape.

All rapists should be sentenced to DEATH....after adequate and thorough investigation.

There should be no 2 ways about it.

This will deter some dogs from raping our girls....

The girl in Jigawa that experienced rape at the hands of 11 men on different occasions; did not do anything wrong. She did not dress in a revealing manner. In fact, she is just a 12-year-old girl. To those people looking for a reason to blame the victim, sorry, she did nothing wrong.

Furthermore, the gruesome rape and murder of Uwaila Omozuwa in a church shows that no place is indeed safe. No one can blame her for being at the wrong place. No one can blame for going to ‘his’ place at night. She was reading in a church. A place of refuge, a place she felt most secured. However, she underestimated the fact that a beast was lurking around. So sad.

The dastardly rape and brutal murder of Uwa has invalidated all claims and views about rape. How could she have prevented what happened?

If her parent had called that day and she told them she was reading in a church; they would have had no reason to be concerned. However, they got the worst news a parent could ever get. ‘Your daughter is dead, raped and killed in a bloody church.’

A girl/woman is constantly vulnerable to rape. As a toddler, she is at risk of rape from people most trusted by her parents. At the risk of family members or relatives raping her. In school, her teacher could be a beast in human form. Even her friend’s or boyfriend’s place is also a dangerous place?

So where is safe for her?

The truth is that a girl/woman should not be in constant fear. Everywhere and every place should be safe for her. She is not responsible for caging those perverts. That’s the job of society.

Maybe all men are potential rapists that need to undergo some sort of therapy. We owe it to our daughters, wives, and mothers to immediately commence a national awareness on rape. Organize therapy sessions to purge traits of rape in everyman.

Because the animals that perpetrate rape are not products of immaculate conception. Indeed, they are born by women, perhaps have female siblings, and maybe even female children (Lord have mercy).

Rape is indeed a pandemic, a never-ending pandemic.
According to a National Survey carried out in 2014 on Violence Against Children in Nigeria; it was confirmed that one in four females reported experiencing sexual violence in childhood; with approximately 70% reporting more than one incident of sexual violence.
In the same study, it was found that 24.8% of females aged 18 to 24 years experienced sexual abuse; prior to age 18 of which 5.0% sought help, with only 3.5% receiving any services.

These statistics are grim enough. Unfortunately, rape is under-reported. People, due to stigmatization don’t want to report rape. We have a justice system that makes reporting rape seems like adding extra burden on the victim. The same police that victims are supposed to report to allegedly raped sex workers with sachet water nylon in Abuja not too long ago.

Even at that, there is a need to have a system that can guarantee justice; for both the accused and the victim without destroying both in the process.

I understand that there is a national outrage in the wake of the sad incident involving Uwa. People are angry. Personally, I am livid. But the anger should be directed at creating a solution. Changing the existing legislation, awareness on rape and most importantly; everyone needs to create that safe environment for girls/women.

If you hear a troubling sound from your neighbour, knock on that door and ask questions. If you see a man or a boy getting too cozy with a little girl; poke your nose in the matter. In fact, your little “amebo” could help prevent rape or molestation.

Parents, take time to talk to your sons and male wards that a girl’s body is her absolute right with her total discretion on whom and when to give. Consent is hers to give and withdraw at will. In fact, she can give at first round and withdraw it at second. More so, she has the right to withdraw such consent in the middle of the action.

Also, parents, you should be your daughters’ confidant. Let her be able to talk to you. Father, sex talk with your daughter is not gross. Let her be able to talk to you.

There is nothing like settling it within the family. If punishing perpetrators of rape would shatter the family, then let it be. If the animal had thought about the family, he would not have done it.

As tempting as it is to talk about rape and molestation of boys also, I will refrain from it. Today is all about girls and women. The only hope would be that we would not have to wait until tragedy strikes again; before raising a voice.

False rape accusation

Creating a rape-free society as elucidated earlier involves getting everyone behind it. Most importantly men, not just because the main transgressors are of our gender. But because the victims are our siblings, mothers and children.

Also, we are vulnerable to false accusations. Creating a better justice system that will guarantee justice for victims in rape cases; will also help people facing false accusations.

This is not just a time for rage. It is a time to work in creating that system which works for all victims. The lack of a reliable system has made people turn to social media for settling or seeking justice on rape-related cases.

However, social media has shown that it is not equipped for the endeavour. As a court of opinion, yes, but a court of justice, no.

It is in everyone’s best interest to create a safe environment for our girls and women. But most importantly, on the rare occasion that some beat the safety net; there should be a place for swift and fair justice.
S.O

ALL OF US @ SAY NO TO RAPE over and over again!!

The truth is that this nairaland somehow contributes indirectly to the demeaning and victimization of Nigerian women . Take a look at the type of threads that the super mods have pushed to front page in the past few months. You’ll see several high traffic ones where all manner of vile and derogatory comments about women are made .

For example , a slowpoke checks his girlfriend’s phone and then rushes to nairaland to post about the contents of the said phone. In a flash , you see them descend on it and use that opportunity to unleash venom on our womenfolk and next thing the thread is on the front page. How is this helping our society please ?

I will create a proper thread on this issue very soon.

Health / Kaduna Health Workers Strike- The Other Side Of The Story by PanAC: 5:41am On May 24, 2020
I read an article yesterday here on nairaland about the strike in Kaduna due to deduction of 25% of their salaries . I condemned it for the same reasons as almost every other person who commented (health workers are meant to be encouraged at this time not alienated)

Afterwards, I went online to see if I could find some more info. (Our leaders usually defend their unintelligent decisions with flimsy explanations in press releases). What I found gave me second thoughts about the strike action decision by the health workers . I’ll post a summary so you can draw your own conclusions

While it is true that there’s a 25% salary deduction from every government employee in Kaduna who earns above 50,000 monthly, however health workers are being paid additional amounts as part of an Occupational Safety Initiative as follows:

-High risk staff are receiving a compensation of N15,000 per day. This refers to all cadres of personnel who are in close contact with Covid-19 patients;.

-Medium risk staff are receiving N10,000 per day. These are officers involved in taking samples, transferring patients to treatment centres, tracing contacts etc.;

-Low risk staff are receiving N5,000 per day.

-The Kaduna government is also paying a monthly incentive of 10% of net pay to each and every health worker in its hospitals and primary health centres

-In addition, the Kaduna State Government has paid premiums for an enhanced insurance package for health workers that raises the death and disability benefits to N5m and N2.5m respectively.

-The insurance package also includes payment of N100,000 per day for 10 days to health workers who get infected with Covid-19.

These are the key points. Read the full press release here . Any kaduna health worker here ? Is this true ?

But if they ask you why insulting them you will all say you are saying the truth but now castigating and intimidating someone that is saying the truth / insulting who you love!! You don't ban them for insulting the president of the country but you want to ban them for insulting the leader of a group in Nigeria!! Does that make any sense?

Okay Mr Man . First of all constructive criticism is welcome .
The post by that moniker or his previous posts does not in anyway even remotely resemble constructive criticism .

Secondly if people have been insulting obasanjo/Jonathan/buhari who is/was supposed to represent them at the highest but failed in their opinion, you could argue that they may have a legitimate right to do so. The immediate case that comes to mind is the 70 year old man who returned to his village in katsina (or some other state in the north) and discovered that his kinsmen had been killed and his cattle and crops were destroyed.
Do you support his imprisonment because he cried out ? That was the least thing he could have done.

Thirdly while I’m not an Nnamdi Kanu follower, let’s analyze his message objectively. What he said about the interconnected cultures is a fact . Even if you go as far Cameroon, in the southwestern part , you’ll find tribes there with similar cultures as Akwa Ibom . Same way you go to Benin Republic and you’ll find Yoruba . I mean real Yoruba people . No thanks to British and French politicking that resulted in the division you have today

So the post by that moniker is not only stupid , but it’s inflammatory and it’s obvious (unless you want to deliberately side-step the fact ) that he deserves to be banned for his track record all over Nairaland.

By the way Igbos don’t need Biafra before they can establish a business or residence anywhere in the Niger Delta. According to the constitution of Nigeria. So your friend’s comment (as are many of his other posts ) is just simply asinine
