According to btu last year, i wasnt admitted to btu for biotech, i was told that i can only gained admission to bridge to masters with my bachelors, bsc micro and a strong cgpa, in the long run i wasnt given any admission

Thank you for the response Mr Hollaytan. I presume you applied through uni-assist, was it uni-assist that told you that or the school? Did uni-assist at any time before forwarding your application to the school inform you that your application can't be forwarded because your undergraduate degree is a 6-semester program when converted to German bachelor? If yes, did you request your application to be forwarded like that?

With regard to the bridging stuff, after completing the bridging program, will one eventually begin the MSc program without rigorous application again?

I shall be anticipating your detailed response. Thank you.

Top of the morning to you wonderful people.
I got a report from uni-assist yesterday concerning my application (MSc biotechnology) to BTU Cottbus). It reads that my application can't be forwarded to the school because I've not yet attained the necessary undergraduate degree to qualify for the graduate program. My undergraduate course is microbiology and I'm sure its one of those courses that qualifies one for MSc biotechnology.

Also in the report, it was kindly noted that when my bachelor's degree (8semesters in Nigeria) was converted to German bachelor, it's 6semesters. Stating that 7-semester program is required to qualify one for the graduate program.

At this point, are they saying 8-semester program in Nigeria is equivalent to 6semesters in Germany? Was anyone in this dilemma before? What should be done now? Should I request that my application be forwarded to the school that way?

@Eke40seven, @phucado, @Hollyatan and everyone please come to my rescue.

Prompt and critical responses are needed please.

styles2009:

you can renew it in Germany,no need going to naija for that even if your course of study hasn't finished yet.
when you apply for the visa just make sure your passport is at least 6-8 month valid.

Chaii! Oga Styles, I really can't thank you enough. May you know no sorrow for the rest of your life. Thanks a bunch.

Go ahead with it

I respect your input sir, but what happens when I finally get to Germany and the validity of my passport expires? Will I have to come back to Nigeria and renew it bearing in mind that I wouldn't have concluded my study by January 2017. Even if I proceed to get a new passport(5year validity) now, a time will come when it will expire too and I will be required to renew it. Bearing cost in mind, should I get a new passport now or proceed with the one whose validity expires by January 2017?

I commend all the Ogas that have been immensely helpful on this insightful thread, may you all be rewarded greatly.

I however have a question for you all to help me with; I'm planning towards this summer term(2016), getting my documents ready but my international passport is getting me worried as it will expire by January 2017.

Going by what I saw on daad.de that one's passport must be valid for one's period of stay, is it wise enough to go ahead with my application with this said passport or I should get a new one to begin my application with?

Thank you all for your detailed response.

If 115 = 57, then
116 = 68, while
117 = 79. And if you check well, the last number of the answers follows an ascending order from 1-9 while the first number of the answer is the same number with the last number of the equation.

DrHesjay: Its not oo..
Nothing is too high n nothing is too low.. It all depends on d performance of candidates...
A jamb score of 215 has always bn 'too low' for MBBS in ilorin.
But look at what happened this year..
80 was used in 2010 or 2011(cnt remember specifically)

80?! *faints*....*wakes up*...*dies finally*

DrHesjay: Most likely 80.... Cos pple who scored 80+ r around d quota to b admitted which is 120...
Over 400 got 70+
even if any 70 will be picked... It shld b around d 76+ range
but its unilorin sha, anything can happen wif God n long legs

Is 80 not too high to be the cut off mark for medicine and surgery? I'm actually a DE aspirant with 76 going for MBBS. I won't stop believing though

You're most welcome! I can't remember your moniker in last year's thread. I was actually admitted into the Faculty of Law. I would advise you all to be voracious and tenacious in your studies. UNIBEN post-UDE is strictly based on merit. However, it is instructive to note that, there is stiff competition, as the number of successful candidates admitted is relatively few compared to post-UTME candidates. Focus on your core subject area, including Use of English, particularly JAMB past questions and also some current affairs. All the best!

Merit?! Well, partially true 'cuz I still can't get any explanation why 78% couldn't get me in for Medicine, when I know of a person with the same score that was admitted
