You didn’t answer my questions?

I'm an african thats the only answer you need.

These ideologies are holding us back, and some of us need to take a stand.

I don't understand why the countries who started these religions are more liberal, than the people it was introduced to.

Why is it that in Nigeria, people think western education is bad, or we should kill if you criticize their God, but in DUBAI they are as liberal as it gets.

Kazastan is a majority muslim country, and they are pushing for secularism. But in Nigeria, Africans are angry if you even bring up the idea that secularism should come first.

I dont get it!

Meanwhile the standard of living in Kazakhstan is almost triple the standard of living of their counter parts in Nigeria. (HDI in Kazakhstan is .8, while in Sokoto its .336, while kano is .4)

What of Afghanistan Islam? The greatest shortcoming of Islam is that they derive their standards from 3 different sources and thereby leads to confusion. 1. Quran 2. Hadith 3. Scholars opinion

We need to start arresting extremist sheiks, imams, Emirs that contribute to this madness.
Every nation that is winning puts secularism first. Even Saudi Arabia is doing it. SO WHY ARENT WE?

SECULARISM FIRST.

Anybody that mentions religious matters outside of their house should be arrested

We need a dont ask dont tell policy regarding religion in Nigeria. Otherwise we are doomed.

Please answer these Questions:
-Are You a Muslim?
-Do You Wear Hijab?
-How Does Wearing of Hijab by anybody affected you (Either Negatively or Positively)
-Does Wearing of Hijab affects your Faith?
-Was Hijab forced on you or your immediate family?
-Does Your Own Religion teach you respect for other peoples religion or faith?
-Do You Believe in Love?
-Do you love/Hate Muslims?
-Do You Ever Show love to people who are of not your faith?

Why cant africans keep religion AT HOME. Leave religion out of school and workplace. I like what Kazakistan is doing, to push secularism. My question is, why cant africans copy the secularism that the rest of the world is moving to, and stop let religion hold us back.

The same religion that you learned from the outsiders, they arent even practicing the same way you are. Or Every single person in the UAE has a pristine education. But in nigeria we have boko haram aka "Western education is bad".

In other islamic nations women are going to school without hijab in order to promote secularism and avoid extremism.

But many african muslims insist.

Yet last time I checked all of these countries are ahead of us!

I remember in the North East they were saying its haram for a woman to be governor. I mean what kind of islam is being practiced in nigeria

Just wondering.

Kazistan a country that is majority islamic, has banned hijabs in school in order to promote secularism.

Yet Africans Muslims who are at the bottom of the Islamic world due to race, are angry about this decision.

What happened in Africa, where islam is against education and progress, and in non african muslims nations, they are striving for secularism.

Even Saudi Arabia was going to recognize Israel before this Hamas stuff happened. Yet African Muslims are completely against Israel.

Where did we miss road? Why do blacks take what was taught to us by foreigners to the extreme?

In order to preserve secularism you are doing exactly the opposite. Now Muslim students must now dress like christian mumu. To preserve secularism the rule would be that no school must make dressing in Islamic or christianic way compulsory. They will be violating right of Muslims in the name of secularism because of their limited understanding of English. Olodo people

Across the Muslim world blacks/african muslims are at the bottom. Nobody cares what you think. Why should they listen to you? A country that is 70% muslim has decided to ban hijabs in order to promote secularism,

meanwhile an african who is at the bottom of the muslim world is angry.

Politics / Christians Should Never Be President; They Kill Muslims When In Power Says Gumi by paxx: 9:44pm On Oct 20, 2023
In an ethnoreligious charge to northern Muslims, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi says Christians should not be allowed to be president in Nigeria, claiming Christians perpetrate injustice, and kill Muslims whenever they are in power.

“During the (Muhammadu) Buhari presidency, a certain Christian cleric complained that Muslim officers were appointed heads of security organisations. My response was that Muslims would not use that as an advantage to maltreat anyone whether they’re Muslims or non-Muslims. In contrast, if they (Christians) are occupying those positions, they’ll destroy us,” Mr Gumi said.

Mr Gumi made the statement in a viral video of his sermon in which he reacted to rumours that Nyesom Wike, FCT minister, plans to demolish part of Abuja Central Mosque.

Speaking in Hausa, Mr Gumi justified former President Muhammadu Buhari’s nepotism that saw almost all security agencies headed by Muslims, saying Muslims’ nepotism does no harm to anyone.

He added that “there was an element of nepotism under Buhari, I reckon. But our (Muslim) nepotism is not evil (wicked) because it does no harm to anyone. If it cannot promote your interest, it won’t harm it either; here is the difference. That’s why I keep warning that power should not slip from our hands into theirs.

Mr Gumi, a retired solider, portrayed various military coups that claimed the lives of some northern Muslims like Sir Ahmadu Bello, the first Nigerian Prime Minister, Tafawa Balewa, former military head of state Murtala Muhammed, as a religious war led by Christians against Muslims but ignored the July 1966 coup that counters his extremist’s stance.

“Check the history, who murdered Sardauna (Sir Ahmadu Bello)? It was (Maj. Chukwuma Kaduna) Nzeogwu. Who murdered Murtala (Muhammed)? It was (Lt. Col. Buka) Dimka. As for (Ibrahim) Babangida, he narrowly escaped death; who was his aggressor? (Gideon) Orkar, a northern Christian. You see, once you give these people power, they’ll use it to destroy you,” Mr Gumi said.

“Again, let me repeat, as I said earlier, I replied to the Christian cleric that whether Muslim officers dominate all the security services, they don’t perpetrate injustice like the Christian officers; because they murdered Sardauna, Tafawa Balewa, Murtala, etc. In contrast, tell me which Christian leader was killed by Muslims. Yet they kept blabbing about Buhari’s so-called nepotism.”

According to Mr Gumi, sometime back during the Goodluck Jonathan era, I was invited to the SSS headquarters for a meeting; I met an officer who afterwards called to inform me that a hit squad, driving a certain Mercedes Benz 4matic model was detailed to attack me. They were instructed to go and hit Sheik Gumi.

The spokesperson for the SSS, Peter Afunnaya, declined Peoples Gazette’s request for comments on Mr Gumi’s remarks. A WhatsApp message sent to Mr Afunnaya was read, but he has yet to respond.

Northern Nigeria has been rocked by several ethnoreligious skirmishes that claimed many lives. Inciting statements from popular and influential religious figures like Mr Gumi could further damage the relative peace returning to a region ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency.

Mr Gumi’s inciting comment could further polarise the country along religious lines, promoting religious intolerance among Nigerians.

"God forbid we accept a Christian as minister of FCT and Wike must be removed because Abuja is for Muslims" Says Sheikh Adam Abdullah

https://x.com/u10akaji/status/1714988615137214515?s=20

"Abuja belongs to us, it's in the north, if southerners boast of Delta that was created for them, we Northerners are boasting of Abuja because it belongs to us, the FCT Minister is not supposed to be an infidel, it's strictly the right of Muslims to fill that position. This thing that Tinubu's government has done is the reason why he will wear one leg of trousers with us, Muslim leaders. Tinubu deceived us with Muslim - Muslim ticket, he should be prepared to contend with us on this" Says Sheikh Adam Abdullah

South Africa vs Nigeria
One has higher gdp, the other has higher igr..... Which is better managed?

What does management have to do with IGR and GDP.

Nigerian goverment cant even manage the oil properly. The one they have they haven't managed, you want to give them more.

UAE manages their oil, they have multiple refineries and the goverment owns all of it.

Nigeria doesnt have any working refineries, and we are suffering from massive oil theft, and corruption.

Manage the one you have now, when you can manage that we give u more.

If you give someone who cant manage 5, 10. What makes you think you will get a different result?

Nigeria needs to work on nationalizing mineral and oil etc. Thats the role of a goverment. then use the money to build infrastructure. We should be owning every part of the resource pipeline to maximize profits. Then use the profits to build trains, roads and to give security.

Thats the role of a goverment. Not to tax the heck out of its people and scare businesses and Foreign investors away.

Where are all the lovers of One Nigeria? Why are they not protesting against the collusion of the Nigerian army with fulani terrorists in the wiping off of indigenous people of central Nigeria?

The fact is that most of the so called lovers of Nigeria are just haters of Biafrans hiding under the love for Nigeria. If it weren't so, they would have been up in protests against the genocide towards their fellow Nigerian citizens of the middlebelt.
Shame on all lovers of one Nigeria who are silent in the face of this brazen genocide.

these people dont actually love Nigeria. They just hate Biafra. If they actually loved nigeria they would be fighting for these people in the middle belt

When middle belt people are slaughtered they ignore the page. They dont care , they dont make comments.

if you mention Biafra they start screaming "We are patriots we love nigeria we love nigeria we love nigeria"

OK IF YOU LOVE NIGERIA WHY DONT YOU HELP SOLVE THE ISSUES THAT MAKE PEOPLE WANNA LEAVE NIGERIA

Even one of them told me that they arent from the middle belt so it doesnt concern them. Yet he is a PROUD NIGERIAN PATRIOT when it comes to Biafra.

I've already given up on those idiots.

Yes they need to cut costs, but at the end, it doesn't solve our revenue problems

Hence, taxes.

Yes we need to cut costs, but we need more and more and more money. Population is growing, needs are rising.

The same bridges they build in Egypt for 10 million USD, they build in Nigeria for 50 million USD.

These people are eating your money, the more you pay in taxes, the more they eat. Whenever they start talking about taxing, that means they are going to be taking money from the large middle class in the South, and giving it to subsidize the poor of the north.

In the South a middle class man will have 1 wife and 3 kids. While in the north a lower class man will have 5 wives and 15 kids.

Now my TAX money is going to be used to help feed this guy and his kids? Give me a break

No it is, because

1.The oil money isn't enough. It isn't enough

2.The article says so...most states are not making enough to cover operational costs.

See no 2 above.

At the end, the states have to make more money. And the only way they can do so is by TAXES. The alternative is more loans.,...which most Nigerians do not want, especially since loan servicing is now chopping a large bit of our oil revenue.

It's a hard choice. Taxes, or we further get into the clutches of the IMF and world bank. They both don't give free gifts.

Why are the goverments spending more money than they have to cover operational costs? If we give them more money, arent they going to just keep spending more than they have?

If you have 20 dollars and you spend 40 dollars every week, If I give you 50 dollars, are you going to start spending 100 dollars every week?

They need to cut costs. No more big houses, No more fancy cars. They need to post all spending online, so we the public can monitor it. After they can prove trustworthy, we can talk about other options.

Nigerian politicians hate electronic stuff because its harder to rig (its still possible) but they need to be posting ALLL spending online. They are public servants anyway.

Eff it, I'm not tribal. My state is among those that does not make enough to cover operating costs...and yes it is a disgrace.

We have been told for donkey years that we are not making enough from taxation. And the above shows that we aren't.

We better face hard choices, man. It means more taxation, more tightening of the leakages, and fightng corruption FOR REAL.

Nah the solution isnt more taxes. Take it from me. If the goverment is "corrupt" giving the goverment more money to spend aint gonna solve a thing.

Just for bragging

I've never heard of any place in the world that uses IGR to determine if a state is the best economically. They use other metrics. This is their way of changing the rules so they win lol.

The South has the large middle class of Nigeria, when they start taxing heavy, most of the south will be the ones paying the taxes, and it will be used to subsidize the north that has a lower average income with welfare/handouts.

The harsh truth is that the SE is also as parasitic as the North. The figures do not lie. So also the SW, except for Lagos, and the middle belt.

Make we all face some hard truths. The solution to the parasistim, is that each and every state governor Taxes THE UNTAXED...and raises tax rates on the rich too. EVEN THEN...it might make things slightly better.

This is not an occasion for pride, or for defedning your state, it is an occasion for us to start facing hard truths.

This is such a low IQ take. I wish Nigerians weren't so tribal and could actually reason.

Everything has to be backwards in Nigeria.
