I don't know why some people choose to be negative. So what if this story made the home page. Must everything on the home page be of benefit to all? When Boko Haram news made home page, do they benefit anyone? Mchewwwwwww.

This is an investing home page news at least I now knw that no matter how little a challenge is, airplane is not meant to fly for purpose of safety. Who would have believed that a blocked toilet could prevent a one hour flight from taken off.

If you don't see it from this angle, then look at it from the angle of comedy. It makes some laugh. LWKMD.

Well said.

I got it now. The guy in the funny outfit is the best man. The other loser behind is one of the groom's men. And there's a lady as well behind, probably the chief brides maid.

The groom is not in this picture. No sensible man will do this to his lineage.

Now they are going after musicians that openly came out to  oppose subsidy removal. . . .what has this country turn to under General jonathan ?

Stop making unfounded allegations, this is not the first attempt on his life. They've been trying to assasinate him for a while now, long before the subsidy issue came up. To have thought that GEJ would want to assasinate him is laughable.

You should consider keeping the TV in your bedroom.
Not a bad idea.
@op, getting married is not a reason why she should'nt have just 2hrs to indulge in her favourite series after a hard day. You can reach a compromise by either joining her like 'omotonia' said or you get busy like some others adviced (it sure would get her attention). I think you're getting too worked up over this issue IMO and it would'nt help to complain too much either cos if she's the defiant type, it would only get worse.

Evil Brain:

@peebee

You sound just like the sharia proponents and Boko Haram spokesmen. You think that your religious edicts should apply to everyone. Well, thankfully, the constitution prohibits state religions so we are safe. Let me suggest rebel controlled Somalia if you want to live in a society ruled by religion.

@Dinachi
You can go through my posting history if you want proof that I'm not a christian. Let me again point out that whether or not I am one is irrelevant to our discussion. Google "ad hominem fallacy".

Where did i say anything to suggest that? I believe you can read.
I quoted a man who thinks the bill is unnecessary and you came up with the above? There really is a lot to say about this
Evil Brain:

@Ovamboland
Don't be too hard on Dinachi. It seems that reading and comprehension are a big challenge for him. Blame our poor educational system.
Politics / Re: Why the "Anti-Gäy Marriage Bill" is Wrong by PeeBee: 2:42pm On Dec 12, 2011
Wanted: Anti-adultery Bill
I have been watching with amusement the enormous emotions we have been dissipating over the same-sex marriage bill before the National Assembly. (Ironically, we already have the Marriage Act in our statutes which defines marriage as between a man and a woman. So the new bill is nothing but superfluous.) I am repeating my challenge to the lawmakers to pass an anti-adultery law, punishable by 14 years in jail. God hates adultery as much as he hates homosexuality. God hates lying, so we need an anti-lying bill that will send people to 14 years in jail for lying to their wives about where they were last night. And what about an anti-greed bill, to checkmate the indiscriminate increases in allowances of lawmakers while the ordinary people cannot eat good food and professors cannot earn good pay? God hates greed too, you know. Hypocrites.

Politics / Re: Yar'Adua Wilted Away In Office - Book By Olusegun Adeniyi (Fmr Spokesman) by PeeBee: 12:00pm On Dec 11, 2011
It is very normal for public office holders to publish memoirs after they leave office, even Obasanjo did. Its his account of what went down while he served the nation, so i don't see where the issue of disgrace comes in. While some may not appreciate the book, some others do!

Iolo:

And since you know how things work in the real world. Have you ever heard or seen that someone had a neighbor arrested on suspicion of being a LovePeddler? Since its already illegal.

It doesn't work that way so think again.
The police somewhere in the Uk seized a woman's kids (including a newly-born), because she was suspected to be a love-peddler (guess d story was featured in nairaland).

@topic, people should try to find out details of the bill and not respond in ignorance because its something they feel bad about.

Politics / Re: Why the "Anti-Gäy Marriage Bill" is Wrong by PeeBee: 4:04pm On Dec 09, 2011
Glad this topic came up, i didn't (and still don't) have any problem with making same-sex marriage illegal but i'm not very comfortable with some other parts of the bill (i know a lot of people do not know the details of the bill and are just being emotional or self-righteous).
I agree with some of the op's points especially the part that has a jail term for anyone who protests or speaks out against the law when fully passed (is'nt that a violation of some other law that grants people freedom of speech?) Then the issue of sharing apartment with someone of same gender, which could easily be termed 'co-habitation' esp by our NPF. The 10 to 14 year jail term is a little over-done IMO (don't know if violation attracts that much). The best part of this whole saga for me is Sen. Mark asking the UK to go to hell with their aids, its the best thing I've heard from the senators all year.
I think the bill should be properly reviewed before it is passed into law to avoid future complications that will defeat their initial good intention and while they are at it, the senators should consider sponsoring an anti-adultery bill (10 years jail term will do).

Anyway i see the country's inability to put the law to practice when passed (except for witch-hunting purposes) and more visas for exile to people who would claim to be homosexual.
