Since the military seized power on July 26, Niger has embarked on a new path leading to the diversification of its partners to assert its sovereignty vis-à-vis the world, the report continued.

Messrs Putin and Tchiani had discussed “strengthening cross-sectoral and comprehensive strategic cooperation between Niger and Russia to deal with current threats, especially in the security field.”

Like its neighbours Mali and Burkina Faso before it, Niger is turning away from its Western partners, in particular ex-colonial power France, and towards Russia.

All three countries have been ruled by the military following coups.

If it connects Port Harcourt, I would rather go through the coastal road if I’m going to Aba or Owerri than go through the current route.

The point is clear. To the hungry man, what matters to him is food.

He would care less if the food is roasted yam and red oil from a roadside yam roaster, or bread and beans from Iya Sikiru. What he cares for at that point is to have food in his system.

Any hungry man who complains that the food he was given is not from Mega Chicken, The Place, Blackbell, Chicken Republic, etc, was never hungry and doesn’t deserve help.
