Kingpin1000: Are you okay?? You think alpha is all about how you treat women You can be stingy or logical whatever it is but still a child in the midst of real generous men. No dey whine yourself you don't know anything about being a man. Those men that think being stingy or giving to a woman is a measure of how strong they are, they really have to grow up. |

Politics / Nigeria At 61, How We Have Fared So Far by PericomaNwankwo: 2:24pm On Oct 17, 2021 |
Nigeria; A typical omphalos of the beautifulness of diversity. The boredness of uniformity cannot be over emphasized, and even man, in his natural rationality, will always seek his way out of any form of conditioned sameness. Despite the challenges of heterogeneity, which to the average individual, may prompt the desire to find peace in uniformity, whilst in short, nature had never desiderated for monotony and neither does peace exist in such condition. Our histories as humans in our various ethnicities have been undoubtedly scarred by centuries of interactions with various cultures, races and languages, that we must rise above sentiments to have an exhaustive view of how admirably adorable our differences have made us as a country. The existence of Nigeria have provided an umbrella for; not only her inhabitants, but for the larger black world to pride themselves of having a home at home. From the Northern Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri, through the Middle-Beltan Tiv-Nupe-Jukun, to the Southern Yoruba-Igbo-Ijaw people, the greatness of the occupants of Nigeria precedes our current states. With over 500 languages spoken across an area of roughly 924,000 km², our diverseness surely had been a part and parcel of our rich history. Though there could be various perceptions to the 60 years marriage of the over 250 ethnic groups that make up Nigeria, we cannot discount the fact that we have coexisted as neighbors, brothers, sisters, friends, learning and sharing useful knowledge and cultures through the time before colonization, amalgamation and subsequent independence. A relationship that is worthy of respect in the face of current daring knots. Sixty years of coexistence, marred with challenges that could have broken the feeble, it makes sense to say that "God is with us", for only God could have kept us as one through the hassles and hustles of progress. Our most important progress being our ability to have managed our differences as we walk the walk to a better future, a future of self awareness and enlightenment of our consciousness to our diversities, yes!, there is big progress in managing diversity. And until every Nigerian is educated of our diverseness and the beauty of it, we may still have more time of rolling in the mud of indifferences instead of utilizing it's great potential. With more battles awaiting us, the greatest lesson from the past six decades would be to wake up to the reality that; we have no other country but Nigeria, we will have no other leaders but the ones we chose to lead us, and if leaders are chosen by the people, from the people, then obviously it takes good people to make good leaders. We must take responsibility, we must develop the virtue of patriotism, we must rise above sentiments and see the progress in managing our diversity, for only then, shall we utilize the unending benefits of diverseness.
