Never said i wanted to commit suicide. Why would i ? I am a professional and have other sources of income. Also i didn't lose a dime. I bought at N18 and sold N29. I was somewhat depressed because i lost the opportunity to make a kill. I had a huge quantity of oando. You made me sell you servant of Satan who went about on this forum concretely spreading panic. It wasn't a case of you unintentionally giving a wrong advice but a case deliberate spreading of fear and panic. You are evil and shameless. I've moved on actually and I've even bought more shares in other companies and will still buy more. Shame on you..
You are giving credence to what street has been saying, (though I don't support his choice of words), you are the MD of your portfolio. Every comments dropped here is for you to analyse and make your own informed decision. I also have Oando at 18 and did not sell when he was shouting casting. I still have not sold and I am not regretting for not selling at 90 because I know why I am still holding Oando and not because of anything anyone is saying. I also read Oga Emma valid input on Oando negative equity, but I still have my own convictions for still holding

On a serious note, for people in the diaspora, wouldn't it be better to invest in these 17-18% bonds that last for years? You could simply repatriate $40,000 to $50,000, put it in one of those bonds, and use the returns to handle all those requests (wahala...) from your Nigerian family and relatives back home.

You could give out 1 million naira at random to any lucky family or friend every month, and they would love you for it without any further expenses on your part. Your initial $50,000 investment would still be there, though it might fall in value over time. But what do you care? It's just $50,000, right? And you can keep giving for years. shocked

Hmmmm, call $50,000 just.

I thought of taken out my capital in Oando today and I hissed when comparing my capital n my returns. Na like i no commot anything. kiss

Exactly, I am not selling any unit of Oando till it gets to #17 which is my breakeven price. I have turned the little units of the stock to long term investment. Maybe in the coming years, dividend of #17 will cover my cost price. Maybe in 5 years time, I will say I bought Oando for #17.

I saw Seplat on this forum at #300, you know the price today.

I won't advice anyone to buy Oando at this price, it is very risky as there might be serious pull back soon before it continues it's onward journey.

The difference between when oando bought conoco and now after buying agip is that Oando is the operator, as in, they are the ones managing the assets on behalf of nnpc, and we know nnpc who is nnpc, and nnpc doesn't have too much say

"Kinda misleading".
That's why we ALWAYS call for due diligence

Technically, the installed capacity refers to grid-connected stations ONLY... smiley

The SC does not include Okpai 2 in the calculation

Not correct
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Pesuzok(m): 9:44pm On Sep 01
KarlTom:
Okpai 1 (480MW) is commercially active.
However, the OandO-NAOC deal stated the capacity of both plants (960MW) which is kinda misleading... smiley

Not misleading, installed capacity is 960MW what is gives to the national grid might not be up to that. Nigeria installed capacity is about 12,000 MW but we can only utilise about 5,000MW due to transmission grid constraints

The Okpai Power Plant, officially known as the Okpai Independent Power Plant (IPP), is one of Nigeria's key power generation facilities. It is located in Okpai, Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.

Here’s a detailed overview of the plant:

Background and Ownership: The Okpai Power Plant was a joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC), which is a subsidiary of the Italian energy giant Eni.

Commissioning: The plant was initially commissioned in 2005 and marked as one of the significant milestones in Nigeria's efforts to boost electricity generation.

Technical SpecificationsType: Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant.
Capacity: The plant has a generating capacity of approximately 480 megawatts (MW) from its original setup. There was an expansion (Okpai Phase 2) that added an additional 500 MW capacity, bringing the total capacity to nearly 1000 MW.

Fuel Source: The plant is gas-fired, utilizing natural gas extracted from the Okpai field and other nearby gas fields.
Copied.

Are you now convinced that the power plant is different from the power plant in OBOB gas plant used for the plant and supply electricity to the community

Why did Agip agree to sell for just $783 million, not even reaching a billion, if the asset promises substantial returns? Were they under some juju when they signed it away to Oando? Also, it's more cheaper to build a new refinery rather than purchasing those existing ones, same with that Ajaokuta steel. You'll end up sinking a significant amount of money just to bring them up to functionality and modern standards. Take your time and conduct thorough research.

There are somethings we won't know why they sold for that price. They are divesting, it's difficult operating onshore, then I suspect opl 245, check the latest news on that.

There is another one called sixth-sense analysis. It is higher than all these others, including street-sense analysis.

(1) 50,000 barrels of crude oil daily.
(2) Unknown trillion cubic feet of gas.
(3) 1,490 kilometres of pipelines.
(4) 3 Gas Processing Plants.
(5) The Brass River Oil Terminal.
(6) The KwaleOkpai power plants with a combined capacity of 960 MW.
(Geregu= 435 MW by contrast) .
(7) Top Guy possible connection.

Please note that item No. 7 alone is a thermonuclear fundamental strength in itself.

Note also that the Afreximbank does not hand out $783 million lightly, or to all comers, but must have conducted a thermonuclear due diligence before funding these acquisitions.

Oando at #200 is ground floor, by sixth sense analysis.

I need to change my sell price to #200 from the initial #100. Maybe I won't even sell until I start seeing the result of the agip deal. Maybe Q4 2024 financial report will say a lot.

CAVEAT

There is a lot of manipulation going on in OandO.

I took this screenshot today at 12:25hrs. See the first set of bids: 3,000,000, 50,000, 100,000, 300,000, 850,000, 10,000, 3,120, 22,819, 6,000
By 14:19hrs, ALL those bids were still there IN THE EXACT ORDER!

Whereas if you check the TRADES, you'll notice that over 2,000,000 units changed hands in over 90 deals between 12:25hrs and 14:19hrs

Be on the lookout for telltale signs.

Every mallam to his kettle...

You need connection for your Oando bid to be filled, it's not be staying on the queue. But pull back will definitely come and anybody still interested can board. The journey still far and it's a new dawn for Oando. People on ground know this, a lot of changes going on.

Hello house,
Please, I am interested in buying FGN bonds from the secondary market and need contacts for good investment houses where I can buy it.
Secondly,
Is it advisable for the investment house to be the custodian or I should have my bonds held in my CSCS account to avoid paying custody fees. What’s the pro and cons for either choice.
Thanks.

My stockbroker is Morgan Capital, if I want to buy from the secondary market, I will first check that particular bond has offers and I send a mail to Morgan Capital stating the bond name, quantity I want and my bid price/market. The bonds automatically will be under my cscs account.

this is serious...that means it will get to #100 sooner than we think.

Afreximbank that gave a loan of $650m did not look at the past performance of Oando aka FA, rather the future potential. A lot of people missed Oando because they were judging the company based on its past.

Oando is now the operator of the upstream assets and are already taking the bull by the horn with fantastic projections based on a presentation they did yesterday.

It's still not too late to enter for those still interested.

If you don't like Oando positive comments, you can jump and pass. Investment decisions are not only based on past events aka FA but also on current trends that can lead to a turn around of a business.

When DS announced merger, the same people casting Oando were praising the merger without any FA to back it, but because you missed Oando when it was at 6 naira when the news broke out Sept last year.

I bought at 6 naira and sold at 12. Only to jump back again at average of 18 naira. I am not selling till 100 naira.

I have a friend that's currently laughing those rushing Oando now... He is currently based in Switzerland...

Few years ago during the COCOPHILIPS era I was using Oando as gamble which is usually my style... Back then in NAIJA we reside in the same area... I bought Oando averagely at 11+ and was selling between 30-33... I sold the last batch at 33 or so... I left little anyways which is my usual style in any stock I don't really want to invest in but... This my friend carried Oando matter for head that year sha... He said I know nothing about investment bla bla... He said very soon the $1.5b investment in COCOPHILIPS will start yielding results... I told him the little I have should continue oooooo

He left his with the hope of whatever price he has in mind... When Oando got to 36+ or so wahala come start oooooo until it went so low that people were even picking it #4 oooooo...

What a surprise right?

As una dey buy hope dey use sense dey trade with Wale and his likes...

Cash is KING
This acquisition will be different because the joint venture will be between Oando and NNPC.

Besides, Naoc was the operator of the assets and were no longer investing in the business.

The only potential risk for Oando is being delisted; otherwise, there's no cause for concern. The Okpai power plant alone justifies a valuation well above 40 Naira per share, and that doesn't even take into account their oil and gas assets

I entered @ 12 naira ...but we don build tent here ....na who get mind go last.

I also mentioned it here yesterday, and that is also part of my SA for now pending when they translate into FA. We all compare views, but it's wrong when someone feels that nobody does any DD and we are all bottle fed.

You dont llike it you go consult financial adviser. To buy hold or sell is not my business and adds no value to my investment.
I will still post tomorrow and DD will not be advised

Why hasn't anyone convinced you to buy since you started relaxing with your gari..lol.

The essence of this platform is also to compare investment thesis. People exchange ideas and views about a stock. What has changed about your view on Oando that made you say e don cast.

You won't say you have not benefited from others on this platform. Nobody knows it all, we gather information from this group and from other sources.

People are not pleased with you because of that your comment, it has nothing to do with full offer or not.

We will ride Oando till 100 naira.

The okpai power plant included in the Oando/naoc deal is times 2 of gerugu power plant. This is only power plant in the deal, not to talk of the oil and gas assets plus becoming an upstream operator.

Oando has not yet started the movement, wait until they walk into naoc offices and start taking control
