Politics / Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Phantomhilz: 9:31am On Jul 02 |
All these people arguing on irrelevant things should stop, rather argue on the basis of performance of the government. Whether Nsukka or Nike or Nkanu or Agbaja or ishi-uzo doesn't matter. What matters now is his performance. What did he promise us in 100 days, 180 days, a year, two years. These timelines has he been able to keep to them? These should be our focus nothing else. If we start going by these divisions, then it makes no sense. The people of amechi awkunanaw recently protested, nchatancha Nike also did the same some time ago. Amechi idodo also recently protested, anyone who knows Enugu to an extent knows how close idodo is to owo mbah's hometown. So I believe we've gone past that stage as a state. Enugu belongs to everybody both indigenes & non indigenes. 1 Like |

melodyogonna: I don't consider roads as the only sign of work,at the same time we have to tell ourselves the truth. I've been in Enugu throughout last week & I've been asking what exactly is he doing? There's no water in Enugu, what they did was largely cosmetic because there's actually no water, people still buy water or use wells. Imagine 'water galleries' in this modern times, this is Enugu for God's sake & not one rural state like that. Former capital of Eastern region,Imagine that disgrace. Is it now security? People were kidnapped in uzo-uwani last week, isi Uzo was in the news recently for an attack. Enugu deserves better! The flag off was in October & since then they've not completed a single road. I want you to understand something, both Otti & mbah came in the same day. If you can't complete a road on time don't bother spoiling it. From what I've seen, they dug gutters & left it. Enugu urban has a very good road network but the roads are not tarred. Do you know there's a road from golf phase2 to new-gra down to Nike area, near that federal government estate. Very large residential area but low population because of bad roads. If he's not interested in working the roads immediately, don't spoil the existing ones. The only road currently under construction is that Onitsha expressway & it's not done by the state. Please eh if there's any thing he has done that we are not seeing please say. 1 Like |

melodyogonna: I think everyone here can agree on something, Mbah has seriously underperformed. We were hoping that he'll focus on Enugu urban & attempt to make Enugu better, but we can't point to a thing that he has done. A tale of two governors, from the private sector Otti & Mbah. Sworn in the same day,& you can notice a stark contrast between the two. Within 8 months Enugu has been stagnant while Abia is already on the move. Sometimes I ask my self what exactly is mbah doing? I even try to make excuses for him that he's just new in govt, but this was a former commissioner that should understand the workings of governance better than Otti but it doesn't seem to be so. The remaining good roads In Enugu urban are already getting bad. Heavy duty vehicles now ply the inner city roads causing gridlocks everywhere. A typical 20 minute journey now takes one hour or even more during the rush hours. A normal government would have started constructing alternate roads & bridges immediately after that bridge collapse, connecting premier layout to emene express & from independence layout to new Haven to extension. Accessing abakpa- ugwogo is now harder, because while MTN are constructing the Onitsha expressway, the inner roads were just destroyed in the guise of construction. Leaving commuters to few roads thereby causing 'go slow'. Dhamija is bad, dental road is bad ugbene 2 road is even worse, alulu abandoned. If these roads were good there would be no need to drive to t junction. Imagine abakpa with all its population using one road. Amechi with a single lane, the gridlock is so frustrating,so i ask again what exactly is mbah doing? 4 Likes |

They are just rigging this election, even with voters intimidation PDP didn't even do well. If MBA eventually wins we all know that it wasn't the will of Enugu. The funny thing here is PDP are rigging without sense. I saw one result in nkanu where 138 was changed to 738 and the accredited votes was still 138. How can a party score more votes than the accredited votes in a ward. It's unfortunate that the judiciary isn't what it should be if not we shouldn't be bothered. Peter Mbah might eventually win Edeoga but my happiness is that enugu is no more a one party state. For HOA Udi north. PDP Uzo uwani. signz: MBA for me even though he's pdp remains the best candidate with a very strong cv but the problem with him is the baggages he comes with, chimaroke, gburus & in fact the whole ebeano stuff plus his stint as commissioner & chief of staff with efcc chasing after him. Secretly I'm seriously hoping that he successfully pulls a Sullivan on them & just focus on serious development. FNJ to me still feels like he's fake, with a party that popular in the east, he's just there & not serious with making moves in Enugu. I feel he's just the mole in APGA just to hold the fort moreover,he still remains ebeano so all these posturing are just formalities. He'll get just few votes in Enugu urban Edeoga is just uninspiring with not very notable achievements as a 2 time commissioner and a career politician since the1990s I just like that he just decided to challenge them & he's the only real opposition in the state. He also has the isiuzo sympathy going on for him. In South-east we would cry marginalisation but still go on to marginalise even in our own state. until then we can't move forward. Nnaji is just to fill up apc slot in Enugu but he has actually impressed me in a short while with grassroots campaigns here and there with uzodimma and "structure" He can only contest the 3rd place with FNJ, because he's relatively unknown Obviously MBA would eventually win but I hope another party wins a position whether state or national assembly at least Enugu would sit up. Like digitron said 1 MBA, 2 Edeoga 3 FNJ & Nnaji would struggle for it (my opinion) 3 Likes |

If you play secondary school basketball and you've never played with SASCO(St Augustine Seminary Abakaliki),then know that you're not playing b-ball. SASCO has always produced champions in Milo that even US college scouts are now regular faces in the seminary, offering scholarships to students. So don't even compare your unknown school to Catholic/eastern schools. Cc 24 Likes 1 Share |

Yeah this one is better, but I still don't see the need or functionality of the lobby. If possible remove the Walls between the lounge and the lobby. That lobby would be very dark and very unnecessary. Since you are managing the plot, there's no need for plenty details. 1 Like |

samoranononi: And here we go again, small family lounge. I don't know the reason for all these small parlours, when you could easily remove the Wall and incorporate the lobby into the lounge. For me, the sitting room should be as large as possible. Remove the walls and if possible Use only one entrance in front instead of two 5 Likes |

PeaceJoyLove: Bros calm down with this Igbo bashing and hatred, Using Anambra state for example, "a culture which disregards mothers and women cannot prosper" That Same culture produced The first female governor in Nigeria, Virgy Etiaba, Currently 66% of Senators from Anambra are women. The Ministerial slot for the South East is held by a woman from Anambra. Even in Enugu state the deputy governor is a woman who previously represented her constituency in the state house of assembly. Tell me your State and let me know whether your state has ever "disregarded" women like this in a male dominated sector like politics. Do you even have a female senator? Name one high ranking woman in your state (she might even be a Perm Sec who got there due to the level playing field the civil service provides) So everytime you try to sound like this, know you are just being hateful or maybe bias. |

Originalsly: It's quite funny to hear someone say Catholics aren't Christians. The Bible used by Christians worldwide was put together by clergymen of the Catholic church. I'm pretty sure it might not not occur to you that the Bible is a collection of recommended books by historic writers. I must admit,if you are a Christian, you are definitely reading from the Bible put together by the Catholics you loathe so much. 1 Like |

Family / Re: The Hate For Single Moms by Phantomhilz: 8:58pm On Oct 28, 2020 |
See fellas let's face the reality, the real world isn't the ideal world. Let's be honest to ourselves, there is actually no hate on single mums rather,an obvious bias or preference that favours a lady without child. Marriage comes with a lot of baggages and no one wants an extra burden. Right from childhood, watching nollywood movies, there is always that wicked stepmother. One wonders why the wicked stepfather hardly exists. Some men wouldn't mind having a single mum as a partner, but then society plays a major role in this.No one wants "after one" ladies,it doesn't look nice. Women should understand nature, that no matter what you'lld be the person with the baby bump. That should always be reverberating. The Man could decide to leave, and you bear the brunt of the deeds of two people. Abstinence is key, know that no one can identify an expectant father Physically. We are humans and we sometimes fall into temptations but know this, for every action there's a reaction. This reaction brings in a human being into the world so before you lay down with that guy whether irresponsible or not, have a rethink. It would be of great help. Abortion isn't an option!!!! You both knew the possible outcome and allowed few minutes of "lust" to get you carried away. If e hard you, orphanage still dey. Helping a lady because she's a single mum doesn't cut it for me, rather help her because she's in need. Ladies be wise. 2 Likes |

@ Digitron "It was expanded TO make it a teaching hospital" Emphasis on the "TO". About building the hospital, I think people like you who always publicize the government works should be able to pressure the government to make it a reality, because visibly what i can see is not worth the name Teaching Hospital. |

Apart from some north Africans especially those around the Mediterranean coast that have a sort of European look or Caucasiod features, Most Africans are dark skinned. I can tell you that you would be able to trace your ancestry to either Holland, Germany or any other part of Europe. It seems weird to an African that a person who is white or has Caucasian features would say that he is SAn or Zimbabwe. Its just the same way a dark skinned man would sound if he is polish or even Russian. You might have the SA passport but in reality you are not a native or a real "African" It's just like a lady who looks visibily Chinese would call herself SAn 2 Likes |
