Iamgrey5:Did it occur to you that you are only blaming the girl and not the guy. No suprise. You have been conditioned to do so. It's just sexism rearing up its head again. The guy is just as indecent as the girl. No qualms. That's even if 'indecent' exists on BBN. 1 Like |

IamSoProlific: You couldn't be more right. The musicians I rate the best come or sing in the UK. The songs are different. The awards are different. Jacob Banks, Micheal Kiwanuka, Benjamin Clementin, Kwabs, Grace Carter etc. These are guys that sing real music in a country that appreciates good music. France music audience does very well too. The States, not so much. Regardless, US is still much better than the noise we make here. 4 Likes 1 Share |

That's just to show they've got so many things to lose than many people realize. Friends, backlash, public judgement, permanent stigma, money, trauma(regarding their kids), public ridicule. Nobody risks the above because of one-minute fame, they are going through all this shit because they are pained. Anyone who fails to see this forgets they are normal people with friends and relationships too. This will stay with their kids for life. Think about that. They are doing all this because they (feel) they have no choice. The fact they might be doing this wrong doesn't rule out the fact that they are hurt. If anyone doesn't read in between the lines here, it's simply because they don't want to. 8 Likes |

lexy2014: No surprise there, my dear. You are probably right. If people were to take a pick between you and the late Prof too, we all know Prof would still be alive and kicking. |

delugajackson: How does Adichie's comment relate to rape, modesty or prostitution?? Too many nairalanders always scrambling to impress more than they know. Majority of the comments on this thread just shows not everyone with a respectable command of English language is intelligent enough to understand the simplest of messages without bias. Message: Do not dress to impress men, Wear only what you can afford. Simple, what is so difficult to understand? 3 Likes |

Lol. . . I just don't understand men at all. If he died, they would say where was God when a Pastor crashed? Now that he didn't, it's God didn't have anything to do with it. Say what you will, the whole intellectual dillydally just proves we do not know anything like we convince ourselves we do. We are all just repeating the same shared philosophies, and regurgitating them in our own limited ignorance. It doesn't change a thing what we think, the truth will still remain what it is. The truth. |

HappyPagan: Not nonsense, my dear. Historically Practical. If you're well conversant with the literary space, you wouldn't be fussing so much. You don't see much Yoruba novelists or fiction writers becoming popular for their fiction, but poets, yes yes. And poetry excellence is gently tilted towards the yorubas. Here: Novelists: Ben Okri, Chinua Achebe, Chimamanda Adichie, Cyprian Ekwensi, Elechi Amadi (inserting Soyinka into this list just looks odd. Poets: Wole Soyinka, Niyi Osundare, Jimi Solanke, Adebayo Faleti, Christopher Okigbo (only igbo poet that can comfortably sit in this list) Another interesting fact? The Brunel International Poetry prize is the highest of its kind in Africa. The 3 previous winners to have come from Nigeria and won the prize have all been Yorubas. The only Igbo co-won with another Yoruba poet. Brunel Poetry Prize: Gbenga Adesina, Romeo Oriogun, Gbenga Adeoba (final throng). There you have the basis. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Logical, her writings are beautifully nuanced with Igbo traditions. Forget Wole Soyinka; when it comes to telling a beautiful story, Prof doesn't really come close to any of 'em. From the dawn of time, the Igbos have always been great storytellers, while the Yorubas on the other hand, extremely excellent poets. 59 Likes 5 Shares |

EVILFOREST: This, no matter how true it sounds could be extremely one-sided. 1. To say, there are NO industries on Nigeria's google is a bloated exaggeration(and I know you now) 2. While it is important & undoubtedly necessary for these pastors to give back to the community, Human beings are insatiable. Oyedapo has two of the best schools in Nigeria, with diverse less popular industrial establishments; what do people say: "It's tithe money, why won't he build schools his members can't afford." It's the way of people to point fingers. Apart from a moral ground, a pastor necessarily has NO obligation to build industries or provide employment for citizens of a country. Now, that is not exaggerated 3 Likes |

"Her business?" Not entirely true. Try going nude with only the Nigerian military cap. When you are a popular figure supposed to represent, everything you do becomes everybody's business |
